Got 2 copies each of Masterpiece Ironhide and Hot Rod today from NY. I had pre ordered them when my son was into Transformers but now he has moved onto Star Wars. Was planning to sell my spares here on the boards but my lovely wife says I can keep my son's copies and open them while I keep mine MISB as usual. What a wife!

Once I get to open them up in the next couple days I'll post some pics. Will also be posting pics of my whole collection up hopefully this weekend.

The figure was released back in 2007 in Japan as an exclusive TF at the winter Wonderfest. It was limited to only 1000 pieces. Also because they were sealed in a bubble/fishbowl, the packaging becomes damage the moment you liberate it. Any that are left sealed will retain their value or possibly go up even more. (I probably just up'd the value of all the remaining sealed ones.:rolleyes::p)

Congrats mate! For that price I would have loved to see a blog/vlog of your thoughts when you started the liberation process! :D

Maz has already done that, he reviewed all the Binaltechs including BT-17's liberation.

It was all the rage in the '80's!
I personally found that LDs were a bigger thing in the 90s (in my neighbourhood anyway). I was still using LDs up until 2004... I still have an LD player. Should probably offload it. :p

I love how in the G1 cartoon's "The Ultimate Doom" story, the Cybertronians are storing their data on laser discs. I was talking to a Year 12 class about laser discs a few weeks ago and none of them knew what I was talking about. They also didn't know that floppy disks are actually floppy. They thought that the hard plastic cases of the old 90mm floppy disks were the actual disks! (cos ya know, the outer casing of a USB stick is totally the USB drive itself :p). I tried to explain about how the older 133mm floppy disks had soft covers and the whole thing was floppy (as did the 200mm disks, but that was before my time; I saw a few in some offices, but never at home). Having said that, considering that The Ultimate Doom came out in 1985 - the end of the video tape format war between VHS and Betamax - having data storage on laser discs was a pretty novel concept. :)

Hah! I remember having to apply to WA Police for a "Permit to Import Firearm" to bring MP-05 back to Perth with me. Getting the permit was actually easy. Customs was funny because I ticked the box which declared I had a firearm and staff freaked out a little. Showed the permit with Megatron and they were like, "Really?"

anyway just got my Ironhide and checked again just to see that the chrome on head light has a noticeable scratch...why me again of all people :eek:

the chrome on mine is not that great, looks like it had been rolled into the walls during play for years. also the left hip joint is a bit loose too. so it's not just you! :(

I didn't preorder him at BBTS coz I saw that Chimungmung was selling it cheaper and with coin. Finally Takara learned from their flatpanelformer mess that is Rodimus Prime... I only wish they made such efforts ( more tabs to secure the panels that make his torso) to MP09 so that we can play with it and not having to fear it being broken.

Got Quillfire yesterday from the brand new K-Mart next suburb over, Megatronus last week and Thunderhoof the week before that.

Must say I am enjoying these figures more than the rest of the warrior line by far.

It was about aud240 ive been waiting for the price to drop but it wasnt going any cheaper so i bit the bullet and got it.

Easiest way to decide is to close your eyes and hit buy now :D
