Can't these companies move onto something else now?
How many of these 3rd Party Not-Devastators are there going to be?

I think there is a demand for mp type combiner but none had tried at this scale.

I have avoided 3p but I do like this.

He looks great but is the head sculpt so awful. He's like an Egyptian Pharaoh.

I think it looks ugly and stupid. The head is so off model that it's not even funny, especially given the likely total cost.

The head is spot on the source material.

Interesting views maybe I should wait and see if maketoys will challenge this.

I'm not digging it. He looks too lanky and the head is just too different from the original for my liking.

I don't know if Maketoys would make an MP scale combiner anytime soon, they still have other CHUG scale combiners to make in the combiner series (I hope)

Looks fine, but I have enough Devestator related toys already.

My apologies, sir! What is the source material? IDW era? Apologies, but I assumed it was based of G1 in general rather than a specific run of the comics (not trying to be a jerk, I just don't read them much!).

Would have been good if they include the alternative g1 head along with the prowl head.

The design is based off of the Studio Ox Devastator. So it's kinda G1.

$780 + - full set

Is already selling individuals of some. $120-150 a pop.

Yes we know is expensive but do consider its materials and size.

From this picture, it does look spot on accurate.

I'm 4 of 6 in so far and quite happy with them. The treads roll and Mixmaster's drum mechanically turns when wound up. The vehicles and bots have great articulation and feel solid. The Devestator hands are fully articulated but still have a strong grip.

Current list of gripes -

It parts-forms - forearms and hands, chestshield and gun
Devestator is a bit lanky but can be mis-transformed to add torso bulk
The Studio Ox head is not G1 accurate
The forearms are too big
The first two releases (Bonecrusher and Scavenger) had assembley problems with elbow cracks, but TW are including replacement parts in the last two releases. Or you can order them from your distributor.
The plastic quality is a bit rubbery but not cheap or brittle
Mixmaster's face is awful and his drum is green
Mixmaster and Scrapper's lower legs are kinda big, but stable
Bonecrusher's scoop doesn't fold upwards onto his back, which is G1 accurate

I'm sure there will be other third party options for this set including G1 heads and gap-fillers.

Damn 4/6 that means I need $450 to be in it now. Sigh...

I have been looking around at upgrade parts for uw devy and so far none impressed me in full.

Probably the best third party Dev in terms of articulation and balance - that pose of him punching the floor is awesome. The plastic quality mentioned by Tober would make sense to achieve these two qualities.

what do you want to change about UW devastator?

what do you want to change about UW devastator?

Mostly the mixer cab and his hands.

I like PE-06 cab but the rest of the parts are okay for me.
I have seen X2Toys, and their cab was not good enough in this case.

I think DNA Design is a cross between the two. But I have went with PE-06 as it was cheap. < if i feel it needs better hands I will go DNA set a mix and match but this MP devy did caught my attention.

sure. initially the change of cab design was weird and offputting but i think now i don't care too much. at least not enough to spend another $50 to $100 to change it. hands i'm ok with so far, if i see some really epic poses that i can't do unless i had other hands on him then maybe it would get me thinking more. so far he holds the figures i've posed him with just fine with the normal hands.

Here he is fully combined next to CW Devi. There is talk of a purple barrel for concrete, hopefully someone also does an alternative head.

I've had a few of them for about a week now. Overall i'm very happy. These things are huge in alt mode... the combined mode will be something to behold.

They are very solid and heavy and have been finished fantastically. The pictures dont do justice to how nice and well detailed the paint applications are nor the feel of the rubber tires and the transparent purple plastic inserts in the bots and the gun/breatplate.

My only concern is that while the plastic feels very solid and dense it may be a little brittle. There were the cracking issues with #1 & #2 as well as some reports of people snapping limbs on #5 and #6 because of tight joints. Having played with them for a bit i can see how this could happening, there isnt allot of give/flex in the thicker pieces.

the initial joint cracking was an issue with parts/manufacture/assembly process on bot 1 - 4 which has since been resolved and the original report of the problem was kinda blown out of proportion anyway, with a seller kicking up a storm doing the boycott thing which was meh given TW has mention they have never even sold to or dealt with that 'seller' to begin with

Back on track the new batch bot 1-4 being released may/june was re-made to prevent the issue, and people who have the early release should be getting replacements parts

bots 5-6 shouldn't really have this issue and I've haven't really seen or heard many people reporting this, if it is an issue it is in the extreme minority at least

bot 5-6 are the only ones i have and the only real issue i can fault it at the moment is one of the leg (swing joint) on scrapper is tad loose, fixable but nothing major.

other than that they are pretty impressive, well its big at least :-p

Was considering the yellow orange version on PC under $600.

Anyone has the devy mode pics of the orange one?

None have been released yet. Rumours say to be unveiled at TFCon this month.
