"Oh no Griff, I'll edit that bit out... hahahahahahaha" :D

They should make the burger $14.50 and the recovery kit $50.00 for those who cannot take the heat :p

Me and the missus were watching this and my wife said what a bunch of wusses you all were (mind you, she eats chilli whole with her meals and doesn't need to drink to wash it down!!). She's my hero. :D

That's hilarious. I love how Griffin takes a bite, shrugs in nothing special kind of way, but by the time he swallows the mouthful it's kicking in. :D

Good Stuff.

Love the recovery kit too, the owners of the shop know what the are doing!

Lol i would give her $1000 if she could eat it!

I wouldn't be too serious about betting against someone with that much money, because you saw how many people have managed to finish it, and without any moo-juice help. (they had about 50 people on the honour board)

The recovery pack was a rort, as it was just a glass of milk and a glass of yogurt (the milk helped, but the yogurt was useless), which would cost them about 50cents. That wouldn't be so bad, if it was still at the original price of $2.50, but doubling it to take advantage of people desperate for something to put out the fire, is just wrong. And they probably have a good profit margin on the $15 burger as well. None of us regretted going through with it, as it was a one-off novelty, but I think the new owners would be doing well from it, even if they only get a few people a day to try it.

Only person I know who could down Chilli well would be my dad or uncles. They eat chilli like its potatio chips which is pretty scary. I can eat Chilli now but nowhere near their level.

i think the tip here is to eat it quick (like you're starving) and forget the mental part...

I think the real tip would be to drink the milk first then eat. ;)

Quoting from the article:

He apparently got into bed at 2.30am and started scratching all over.

Isn't scratching a sign of an allergic reaction?

There probably wouldn't be any taste when your mouth/throat feels as though someone's poured petrol down it & set it alight... :D

Yea, usually chilli/spices added just for heat taste like, well, nothing.

Real proper use of chilli/spice for flavour to add flavour and make the food enjoyable is what you want to eat, and is what I also like to eat, and a little sting/tingle of spices also adds to the experience, but full on full sweating pain is something that's not needed. I believe in enjoying food, not being punished while eating it. :) So I wouldn't have even bothered trying that burger in the first place because of what it sets out to achieve.

Yeah, no noticable taste, even before the hot sauce kicked in. As you can see from the photos/video, it was a pretty boring looking burger, with heaps of hot sauce all over it.

And no ring of fire for me, but Jimmy managed to get his innards cleaned out, with four pitstops in the first four hours.
