This is for official toy images that don't already have a current/recent News topic, or aren't big enough news to probably warrant a new News topic (like the smaller, non-mainline toys or Gimmick toys).
(official images of mainline toys that do have News topics may still end up being posted here too, but only after they are posted in the active News topic)
This can be an archive of official images, as they are found, or for the amusement of fans who may not collect the gimmick toys or the smaller sub-lines.
This is an open News topic, so comments can be posted.

Official images (toy photos with packaging instead of the earlier CG images) of the first wave of the Titans Return Legends (Rewind and Stripes) have been posted up to Amazon and mirrored here (http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/04/22/new-titans-return-legends-rewind-stripes-stock-photos-314559).
And official images of the oversized gimmick RID Power Surge Bumblebee & Sideswipe toys have been posted up at BBTS, also mirrored here (http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/04/21/robots-disguise-power-surge-bumblebee-sideswipe-official-images-314475).

A number of official images have shown up in the last week, including the first wave of Titans Return toys, which I would expect to be released some time in the next two months.
These are actual toy images now, not the CG images.

The UK ToysRUs website has given us some official images (http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/06/29/combiner-wars-computron-new-stock-images-318147) of the Hasbro Computron boxset, including the box.
At least Scattorshot is a different colour scheme to the individual one. Not massively different, but at least it isn't a repack of the same toy for those who already bought it.
And Dengeki Hobby website have put up images of the Japanese August Adventure toys, TAV-54 Scorponok and TAV-53 Hypersurge Sideswipe (http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/06/29/stock-photos-adventure-tav-53-hypersurge-sideswipe-tav-54-scorponok-318158).

There are rumours saying that the Rescue Bots cartoon won't be back for a fifth season, but that hasn't stopped Hasbro from releasing more Rescue Bots toys (probably for the endless re-runs on TV).
Official images have been released of a new Rescue Bots toy gimmick - Flip Racers.
They look like they might be pull-back motor type toys, that can move in both modes.
The first wave has (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/01/06/transformers-rescue-bots-flip-racers-official-images-330584) Heatwave, Optimus Prime, Hoist and Medix.
If the cartoon is really over and future toys are going to rely on re-runs to sell them, it seems odd to have just one of the four being a main character... and only two even being on the cartoon.
Considering the amount of Hoist and Medix toys in the last year, it almost makes you think they would be in the next season... if there was another season.

Both are new moulds (I thought that the yellow car was a redeco Sideswipe when I saw it at Toyfair, but I was confused), and Wildbreak is an F-1 styled race car.

Interesting design. I think it's cool they're introducing the younger generations to old-school characters like Twinferno (AKA Doublecross). The colour-scheme seems a bit Dinobot-ish with the orange gold and grey.

I was looking forward to seeing Optimus Primal when he was first announced, but looking at these pics; I'm not sure I like the idea of the Optimus Primal component turning into the hoverboard that the Optimal Optimus beast mode rides on.. (yeah, that last sentence came out weird)... Well, part of me had always wanted an Optimus Primal, but never got one (even to this day). So I'll try and get this when on sale at retail.

AWESOME stop motion videos! :D Good to see Hasbro supporting a fan with his work allowing him a higher production budget. Although his old videos shot on his kitchen floor with laundry detergent boxes as buildings had a certain charm. ;)
P.S.: How cool would it be if a video game company made a 1 on 1 TF fighting game using toy stop motion? Similar to how Mortal Kombat used video captures of live actors but instead using stop motion captures of toys? ;)
(just don't make it suck like the Street Fighter The Movie arcade game :p)

My first thought was Jazz too, but it could just be Drift again. I don't know if the series 1 Drift has that blue on the car mode, but since the robot mode is completely white, it should have something painted on the car mode. (it could also be a pre-production colouring, as the series 1 Optimus has blue on the legs while the actual toy doesn't, and Soundwave doesn't have yellow on the chest, but the actual toy does)

Not that the four new figures are anything exciting, as none are new moulds, and two of them are very minor redecos.
The new figures - Acidstorm (green Starscream redeco), Silverbolt (grey Jetfire redeco), Jazz (Drift with some blue on the car mode and black on the head), Sideswipe (no silver on the side exhausts).

A new wave of Rescue Bots Rescan bots Hotshot (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/06/18/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-rescan-wave-5-optimus-prime-hot-rod-and-hot-hot-shot-f1-new-stock-images-413038)(race car - new mould), and Optimus Prime (as a "hotrod" truck - new mould with same transformation as previous trucks).

Thunderhowl looks like such a lazy transformation for a higher-priced toy. It looks like it just squats down to be in beast mode, with the wolf head flipping up. It even has the cape from bot mode still on the back of the beast mode like some weird animated super-dog.

With the Masterpiece Arcee coming out at the end of this year as well, that's a lot of pink coming in the next few months from Hasbro and TakaraTomy (Earthrise and Cyberverse in the next 2 months, and Masterpiece in December).

Both are new moulds, and both are noted as being "Cybertronian Mode" on the packaging.
The wheels on Ratchet appear to be resembling spheres, instead of disk-shaped tyres.
The link also shows some images of the Ultimate sized Iaconus toy, which I haven't seen the alt-mode before. (not that it looks like much of an alt-mode)

The product page says it is "spaceship", but the character from the cartoon was meant to have a city mode.
It was found in America last week, and was just found the other day in Australia at Toyworld, which will be noted soon in the sightings section.

Something obscure that I just found out today - those tiny Rescue Bots mini-racers that we got in Kmart a few months ago, are listed on Amazon in America as a specially boxed 5-pack (https://www.amazon.com/Tra-Rbt-Mini-Racer-Multipack/dp/B07ZR1RYDB/), with a bonus (small) playmat... but since it is only a 5-pack, it is missing Whirl, which is really weird to sell an incomplete set like that. It is US$20.... and my guess is that it is probably an Amazon exclusive (Amazon has a lot of Rescue Bots exclusives, and the packaging doesn't look like something for a retail store that is meant to attract the attention of little kids).

Cyberverse Ultra Skullcruncher (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/08/18/transformers-cyberverse-ultra-class-skullcruncher-stock-images-417333) - a very good homage to the original series toy, in both colour and modes. The added gimmick of a crocodile helmet is a bit weird though.

Amazon America have recently added several bulk lots of older Rescue Bots toys (could be old stock, or re-released figures in their original packaging), and a new boxset of four previous toys in a special new box (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/10/11/amazon-exclusive-transformers-rescue-bots-academy-road-rescue-team-trailer-4-pack-421848).
The four toys in the boxset are a really weird mixed assortment of alt-modes which I'm not sure if any other than Optimus was even ever on the cartoon.
Plus, the product/packaging is the current "Rescue Bots Academy" branding, but there aren't any RBA main characters in this set.
They have the offroad Bumblebee, the race car Heatwave, the dragster Chase, and the "Megabot" Optimus with trailer. If the official images are accurate of the toys, they don't appear to be any different (the Optimus looks like the 2nd release, which didn't have some paint and stickers).
It is for December, for US$60.

The product page isn't yet taking pre-orders, but shouldn't be too long, considering it was already released here, and Americans don't like to have "their" Transformers being released in other countries first.

From the recent official reveal of this year's Walmart exclusives, these are the Hasbro Pulse listings, which have a number of new official images, and notes their expected release dates (some are not expected to be released until December!)
Note - We won't be getting the RED toys here, we are not likely to get the BW toys, and it's 50-50 for the Legacy toys.

Vintage Beast Wars

R.E.D.
- Galvatron (https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-r-e-d-robot-enhanced-design-the-transformers-the-movie-galvatron) - August - us$25
- Shockwave (https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-r-e-d-robot-enhanced-design-g1-shockwave) - August - us$25
Meanwhile, Hasbro Pulse has also listed the new Botbots toys, which was also seen at other places last week, and Hasbro Pulse have also listed the packs in bundles, that you'd just have to hope you get one of each pack... which will still end up with duplicates, but not as many as if you get duplicate packs.
24 in single packs (https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-botbots-series-6-collectible-singles-multipack) - us$72
20 in 4 x 5-packs (https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-botbots-hunger-hubs-gamer-geeks-20-character-bundle) - us$44
32 in 4 x 8-packs (https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-botbots-custodial-crew-pet-mob-32-character-bundle) - us$63
8 in 2 vehicle packs (https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-botbots-ruckus-rally-racer-roni-outta-controller-multipack) (4 with each vehicle) - us$42
That's a total of 84 toys, and there is supposed to be 75 different ones, which means only 9 duplicates this time, so maybe Hasbro are learning, that collectors are put off by blind packs and random picks (on online listings like Amazon) wasting a lot of money to collect the set and then not wanting to do that next time.
The prices on Hasbro Pulse are about the same as what was on Entertainment Earth the other day... which didn't make much sense, but I just had another look at their prices, and they have fixed them, to match the number of Botbots you are getting with each bundle at about us$2 per Botbot...
Singles (https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/transformers-botbots-ruckus-rally-series-6-collectible-singles-multipack/hsf8338) (24 packs) - us$44 (24 toys)
5-packs (https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/transformers-botbots-ruckus-rally-series-6-hunger-hubs-and-gamer-geeks/hsf8333) (4 packs) - us$44 (20 toys)
8-packs (https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/transformers-botbots-ruckus-rally-series-6-custodial-crew-and-pet-mob/hsf8336) (4 packs) - us$63 (32 toys)
Vehicle packs (https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/transformers-botbots-ruckus-rally-series-6-ruckus-racer-racerroni-and-outta-controller-vehicles/hsf8337) (2 packs) - us$63 (8 toys and 2 vehicles)

Just noting that the release date for the Botbots toys is April on the Hasbro Pulse site, but is September on the Entertainment Earth site.
BigBadToyStore also has "3rd quarter" which is about September (https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Search?SearchText=botbots)... and has similar prices to Hasbro Pulse, so the best option is a mix of different sources for the set (EE is $30 cheaper for the singles, but $20 more expensive for the vehicle packs - everyone is about the same for the 5-packs and 8-packs).

The images have come from one of the official Chinese Hasbro sites, and can be seen here with watermarks (https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/04/12/transformers-legacy-motormaster-new-stock-images-first-look-at-menasor-body-453566). (I'll wait until Hasbro America releases their official images without watermarks, to upload and post here)
The image on the back of the box with the hollow legs threw me for a bit at first, thinking that Motormaster was horribly deformed to allow for the combiner mode, but then realised that that was just the Menasor mode without cars attached... which also kinda ruins the point of the combiner if it looks wrong on the packaging.
(we know that there are two more cars to be released later, and it doesn't fully reveal them if we only see them as an arm or a leg to Menasor, so I don't see why Hasbro didn't have the full Menasor showing on the box, instead of empty stilts legs)
And it seems that like Optimus, Motormaster's robot mode is just the cab of the truck (unlike the Gen1 toy), and the trailer becomes a battlestation similar to Gen2 Laser Optimus, as well as being the frame of Menasor.

From the current designers on instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/Cg3A2s-MLM5/) comes some background info on a toy released almost 2 years ago - the Origins Bumblebee.
OH Origin Bumblebee! I was lucky to be gifted this project after Warden moved off the team.
.
First up is a glimpse of my deco layout for the pack. Doing deco, as I’ve mentioned, is an art in itself and for bigger more complicated projects, is quite challenging. The time consumption is definitely a labor of love! You will also see some inconsistencies in color for the blaster and the jetpack on deco and back of pack. Since those parts were made from PA plastic they wouldn’t take the painted silver ops. But some essential black peices were also in the mold so I couldnt make the mold silver.(Bummer)But I bumped up the color on the rods because it was really difficult to get the same glow as the golden rods that appeared on the episode. I went back and forth in production trying to add as much pearl fleck in the mold as possible to give them the cool looking shimmer.
.
The next drawing was done by @ken_christiansen_art (🤔) but I’m not certain as Warden kicked it off before me. The image to the right of it is Kunihiro san’s block model CAD drawing. I made some adjustments as I usually do, and we went back and forth on a couple different things.
.
I ended up cutting out the golden rod holder on the jetpack, it just compromised to much aesthetics for a nice looking jetpack. I also dipped back into episode 1 to really study this cybertronian BB here. The fun and somtimes difficult thing about old cell animated cartoons is the inconsistencies they contain. Im a stickler on head sculpts, so I really wanted to give BB the plump clean face he rocks in the episode, even if it is a lil on the thick side. Also got rid of the grid pattern he had on his cheeks which I think was a detail from the Siege series.
.
The rest of the images are more for all of you to weigh in on. I used to love to see my painted models on back of pack, but the digital renders are cool too, do yall have a preference?

Shame they put all that effort into the colour of the energon rods (which I consider a failure, as I still don't see what they were on about) instead of making the items, well, something that a toy can hold in its hand. I can see now why they didn't bother (designer A intended them to clip onto the back, designer B dropped this but didn't do anything else for them), but that hardly makes it better now does it?
Also, kinda interesting to see that they genuinely do use a paint that allegedly matches the plastic dye. I was sure that they would use a different shade in order to compensate for the way that paint and dyed plastics will never match. There is, after all, plenty of knowledge out there on how to match these things...

I would say it's potentially not always about paint matching the plastic than the plastic changing. My Origins Bumblebee has a couple of plastic panels that don't match the others and are a lighter shade of yellow that I can't explain - couldn't be sun exposure as other pieces beside it aren't faded - so a paint may have been matched to the design plastic colour, but then the mix gets slightly different
And the jetpack storage being lost is a bit of disappointment for me, as I don't like pieces just sitting around. But it fits with the ethos that their trying to meet at the moment of providing the best accessories that can be mixed and matched across your figures across the line rather than just focusing on each figure in singularity (positives and negatives to both approaches)

I'm sure there is if you're some 3P company without a deadline or a fan doing a custom, but with the number of figures Hasbro employees have to put out constantly they wouldn't always have time to get the colour match perfect. Markclonus has mentioned this on an Instagram story recently.

It isn't about having endless time. There is real industrial research out there about how to match Pantone X in ABS (and nylon, and all sorts of other plastics) to Pantone Y in paint. It should be quite literally an exercise in looking up a chart - the work has already been done for them. I never expected, for example, to see the same colour being listed on that chart for Bumblebee for both plastic and paint - one should be different to compensate for the difference in how they reflect light (and also perhaps to account for the underlying plastic colour).
Now that I think about it a bit more, though, perhaps they're having real issues with the dyes in their plastics, and getting them to come out the right way. Would explain a few things...

The re-release of Legacy Leader Dragon Megatron in Legacy Evolution packaging... which is really just the new logo on the box I think...
I think some people at Hasbro are learning to re-release final wave toys in the next series if possible, as most countries tend to miss out on the final wave of a year, or have very limited supply of it. In the case of this Megatron, it has started showing up at specialty outlets here, but it could have just as easily have been missed out if stores were clogged with wave 1 Leaders. (as it was, I think wave 2 Blitzwing will end up being the hard-to-find Legacy Leader here, as the major retailers who are still selling wave 1 will get a second chance at wave 3 Megatron, but not wave 2 Blitzwing)
