Hi,

Anyone know what is up (or down?) with the Seibertron's toy galleries? Since the site came back I can't see 90% of its extensive toy galleries. The galleries are present but most of them now have white squares instead of photos.

I'm guessing Ryan's slowly recovering from the recent storms. (In the mean time, I've been giving tfu (http://www.tfu.info/) a fairly good look-over :))

i went to seibertron the other week and noticed that most of the gallery photos were missing, then noticed the news about the storms and figured it'll just be some time before they are back up..

Ryan lost all of the photos that were stored on his database when his basement flooded a few weeks ago, tie that in with hosting issues in Houston because of Hurricane Ike, and that is why Seibertron died for a week.

Ryan is in the process of slowly recovering all the toy galleries but it's a long labour intensive process that will take weeks, if not months to get all the galleries back up and running.

Add to that the screenshot archive and Comic Book cover images (many of which he has lost permanently) and it'll be some time before Seibertron is back to where it was in August this year.

I wonder if the recent Typhoon in the Republic of China has effected any Taiwanese based TF sites.

I supposed it's one advantage of having it host overseas ;)

So, Are the toy gallery photos gone or are they floating around in Cyberspace & need to be lassooed? :)

Ryan has a backup of all his galleries, so he won't be needing you to resend him your copy of the galleries Pulse! :D

Whats taking the time is re-uploading them onto the server, re-sorting and re-linking them, and all that fun kind of stuff.

Thanks for the info guys. I figured that it was due to the flooding but was unsure about the galleries since he seems to have restored everything else.

Not quite everything else.

3 months of posts were lost, and if you go into the Vector Sigma Database on the site, you'll find that all but wiped out, some sections don't load at all, others redirect for now.

I like the galleries. It actually was helpful to me on a few occassions in making purchase decisions.

They'll be back, to help us all make extra purchases we weren't counting on making till the Galleries convinced us! They are the main reason people visit Seibertron after all.

They indeed are. But I do prefer Seibertron for its news section too. THe pictures are just straight up and I don't have to click five links to see them which really always irks the hell out of me b/c I can smell TFW2005 deliberately trying to get us to see their sponsors more..
