Yeah Pulse, he's a "photo model" since small, people were so "obsessed" by him that he had so many photos taken since he was a puppy and so can he kinda pose in front of the camera! :p He likes to poke his nose around when I'm opening my TFs and then I'll just ask him to sit down and look at the camera too ! :D But flash is actully bad for a dog's eyes, so I'm trying not to use it too often.

Just received Takara G1 Collection (Metrodome release).
Got it from Amazon UK for 17.99 + 3.58 pounds, which worked out as $49 AUD about 10 days ago!
That's a saving of $130 compared to full price Madman releases and $25 cheaper than JB Hifi sale prices!

Yeah dude, that's old news - i.e.: the Metrodome set came out before the Madman set, and I (amongst others) decided to get the Metrodome set long before the Madman set came out. :) Make sure your DVD player can play Region 2 though - I think the Headmasters DVDs are Region 0, so they'll play on anything, but the Masterforce and Victory DVDs are Region 2.

Most of the car exterior (roof, doors, trailer) is metal. Arms/hands/head/inner chest are plastic. The knee/shin guards (the bits that flip and rotate on his leg) are plastic. He feels really heavy/solid compared to alternators prime. Paint quality was great - only a little bit of red spill onto the silver grill (and only barely noticeable if you looked really close). Only had one minor chip (<2mm diameter) on the roof but because I have him in robot mode, you can't see it because its on his back.

Compared to alternators prime, it isn't as good to pose due to the die cast metal (particularly on his back) which makes him back heavy (can also make him tilt backwards a bit when standing).

The trailer gate which forms part of his back feet/heel were really loose on mine. Would have also preferred to have "convoy" as his license plate but since this is my first BT, I'm not really sure what the other BTs have.

Compared to the prices for the bt nemesis convoy, this is a bargain. And for someone who just displays pieces like me, it was a nice improvement over alternators prime. I now have alternators prime in dodge ram mode to pair up. I reckon the new fan mod for the matrix/gun will look quite nice too (Hint Hint Kyle! :) )

That third lot was from a US online store called toysnjoys.com (http://www.toysnjoys.com/) - has a lot of odd stuff at some fairly good prices. But they don't update often enough, so check if items are instock before you purchase. I had 3 items said to be out of stock (after my payment was processed by their auto-checkout system), and had to use the credit to buy something else (which partially paid for the 3 items above that I was interested in anyway). I do recommend them though.

Um...shoot stuff? I dunno.

That's the confusing part, it doesn't shoot anything out of it, but has that dark transparent plastic inner chamber on the top which fires pellets at the orange ball at the end. It has sound features (maybe *had* light features as well), but only makes minimal sounds when pulling the trigger. I'm thinking it makes more sounds if you hit the hole in the orange ball, but don't know why or how. And there doesn't appear to be anything else on it to press other than the trigger.
An odd looking toy, but odd enough and cheap enough for me to get it. :)

A near-mint $5 Transmetal Tarantulas (sans pizza cutter, unfortunately), and a pair of beat-up $5 Crosshairs toys which are in pretty terrible condition but might come in handy as first-time paintbash fodder, should I ever get around to learning how to repaint stuff (I have an orange and black - with optional tiger stripe - deco in mind) and repair loose components, rusted screws, and worn-out springs.

If I feel adventurous enough to move onto kitbashing, they also have the abdominal Targetmaster mounting hole that I could plug something into, and a crippling need for articulated hips, a waist, and elbows. Those last ones could be problematic with the placement of the front wheels - I might need a complete rebuild of the arms. And I think the rear wheels would tuck away better if they were attached to the lower legs rather than the upper. And that red chestpiece would look a bit less potbellied if it did a 180 like G1 Getaway's chest...

Oh, and Roller - to transform a pickup truck with hollow bed into a ghetto blaster, do the following:

1) Using the horizontal hinge in the middle of the windshield, flip the top half of the cab up and forward 180 degrees until it's lying upside down on the hood of the truck with the back window of the cab roughly aligned with the front of the truck. The two cab slices should form a rectangular block sitting on the front half of the truck.

2) Using the horizontal hinge which runs from side to side through the truck at the back of the cab, at the level of the bottom of the cab windows, flip the bottom and attached top halves of the cab up and backwards 180 degrees so that the rectangular block formed in step 1 is lying comfortably inside the hollow truck bed and the entire truck now looks like a solid rectangular block on wheels.

3) Flip up the panels which form the sides of the truck, as well as the front grille and the back tailgate, 180 degrees and peg them in place, concealing most of the truck detailing.

4) Slide the front wheels forward and the back wheels backward, but stop before the tires extend beyond the front and back edges of the truck. Make sure that the truck has huge Hollywood hubcaps which look like fancy detailing covering the speaker grilles of boomboxes.

5) Flip the wheels 90 degrees down and under the truck, a bit like the DeLorean in Back to the Future Part II but with the wheels slid further under the truck and not sticking out to the sides.

6) Flip the truck up on its side so you can see the underside and the four wheels. The underside of the truck is detailed and textured to resemble the front of a boombox, with the wheels filling in for dual-cone speaker systems on either side.

7) Flip out stablising 'heelspurs' from under the ghetto blaster so it can stand without falling over. Optionally pull a handle out from the top of the ghetto blaster.

8) To convert to robot mode, transform back to truck and then apply a transformation similar to Movie Longarm's... or pretty much any truck Transformer, given that the third mode is just a matter of unfolding the cab, flipping some panels and moving the wheels a little and as such shouldn't interfere with most other transformation schemes.

I'm not the biggest fan of Animated packaging... typical of Hasbro TF packaging they're mostly full of air and a waste of space. I cut out the cartoon piccies and throw the rest of the boxes and cards away (in the recycle bin of course ;)).

I got my city commander up grade set in the mail on friday.

Most of the armour holds on really well with the exception of the arm and shoulder armour, they slip off pretty easily. I still dont like the big gun it weighs to much and magnus arm cant hold it up, also one of the guns does'nt sit in the back of the shoulder properly. I dont know if it is a production flaw in my magnus or the upgrade kit but the gun just slides out of the hole. I thought it was pretty cool that they incorporated the instructions into the comic that came with it. Ultra Magnus looks pretty wicked with all the other classic figures around it and I hope they do release the up grade set in the nemesis prime and diaclone colours cause I'd definatly get them

There's a "peg" on the inside of each shoulder armour, that fits into the screw hole on the back of Magnus' shoulder. Maybe it didn't slide in properly when you put the armour on?

I don't think this is a production flaw on your Magnus. The hole on the back of CC's shoulder armour goes through two layers of folded armour. It's the hole on the inner layer that "holds" the peg. If the peg of your gun didn't get pushed in properly into the inner layer, then it'll just slide out of the outer layer.

My G2 Megatron arrived today - in excellent condition!
Is that the huge green tank Megatron from 1993 (as opposed to G2 Combat Hero Megatron (1994) or Gobot Megatron (1995))?

IMO Combat Hero Megatron is the best G2 Megatron toy, but it is the green one that appears in G2 canon so I can totally understand the need to have that toy. :)

Got myself Alternators Wheeljack from the UK and a new Transformers Autobot Logo shirt from Target (with the G1 1985 back of pack art in the logo, looks very snazzy.

Unfortunately me with my big clumsy hands that have been working on a car for weeks now were too rough with Wheeljack, and i snapped a part off. Should glue back in, but the break in transformation has perplexed me, so in mid transformation he will stay till I can figure it out. :( Feel rather daft now.
