Upgrade sets for devy UW/CW

So we had Perfect Effect 06 and which was the norm for most people to get.

Several reviews showed a lot of down points to this upgrade and the only plus was the nice cab convert for mix master. They had fixed the ball joint issue on the hands.

Shadow Fisher X2 had theirs and I felt they were a better upgrade set with better and larger looking hands as the PE version actually were smaller than original.

I saw another company called DNA design and they have started production of theirs finally which is a bit late but I felt they look pretty good.

I was convinced to sell off my PE set which I did and now thinking if DNA Design would be the best set to obtain or Shadow Fisher as I seen it first hand it was not bad. though their cab add on could be better in vehicle mode.

Which ones do you choose?
Anyone else going for DNA design?

I got the X2toys Shadow Fisher. It does look good! apart from the annoying thumbs but I can live with it.

Only reason why i went with Shadow fisher at this stage is because I couldn't wait any longer for DNA to come out!

I've seen the PE and was not impressed with it and DNA was taking a long time so I bought Shadow Fisher first

I'm glad I did as My Devastator was looking a bit NERDY... Devastator looks much beefier with the Upgrades.

I'll be buying the DNA too once it is available.

The only thing I want from the PE set is the cab (as do most ppl), they need to have that for sale separately already.

Otherwise I'm waiting on the DNA kit myself, but don't really care for the cab attachment >_>

Cab on dna is okay but not as good as Pe but I don't see it justified to buy Pe for the cab alone.

I didn't felt X2Toys were any bad, is only its cab wasn't as perfect as PE but neighter is DNA, but the rest were all better than PE.

In fact if the have any without head options to make the upgrade cheaper I will buy it as I don't need a prowl head nor a light up feature.

I saw PE-06 for $45 at one stage and was only thinking "is the cab worth $45" and that was the only thing I could think about.

A little late to the party, but thought I would weigh in!
I bought the PE set cause I really liked the Prowlastator and Prowl heads and bonus I discovered I love the hands so much that I'd love to mod them to fit on the TFC LioKaiser..
The rest of the kit is OK? Forgettable IMO.

Really looking forward to the DNA toys one. Those new pics give me hope that it's finally coming!!

Looks good enough. Not perfect by all means but it will be the set I choose for now.

It also appears that Ben collectables made a review and shared his thoughts comparing to x2toys and he seems to be happy with the dna one.

I went with BBTS for once as I am not familiar with other sources and they are the same price in shipping and item.

On the note, Robotkindom has DNA design in their website but empty listing, hence maybe they will stock some in the future.

I have asked PC, and they had no intentions in bringing in this item.

I contacted Collector'sdrift and they can bring in this product if you contact them. I was quoted $60 exclude shipping.

I am happy to give them a go. :)

That's a good price! I suppose i'll get one but I'm starting to collect more 3rd party combiner figures and $75 is just under what how much i can get a MT Guardia limb.

I could make my Devy look a bit better or start collecting some really cool 3rd party combiners...

Mine DNA kit arrived in the mail from TF Source yesterday. Pretty impressed so far.

The new cab for Mix Master looks good. A little fiddly on the transform, but nothing too bad. Did have a part come off, but luckily it was just on a simple metal pin and I could slide it back on.

I need to get batteries for the new head and try to figure how to get the original head off. You can parts form it if you don't want to remove the original, but I'd rather not. I do like the snarling faceplate and will use that as my default.

Shoulders are good and solid with a good range of movement and forearms look nice, but the increased fore arm bulk foes lead to elbow droop. Plus the original shoulder joint on Scavenger does occasionally move a little, shame there is nothing to secure it a little more tightly. Gun holds tightly on it's peg in the hand.

Overall pretty happy with the DNA kit. With this set, Dr Wu's crane extension and Reprolabels, Devastator is looking pretty menacing.

For me I am happy to parts forming the head as I don't have the time or let alone forming devy and put into my display.

Can't wait for dna set to arrive.

Qn about Hook's crane, I know you can get Dr Wu DW-P28 which allow for the crane to be extended.

Does anyone know of any 3P/Shapeways crane that would allow for the crane to be collapsed/retracted more? so that it's shorter in robot/combined form?

I find it really annoyingly long in bot & combined forms ... currently just keep parts forming it >_>

Just done up dna upgrade . It's not perfect but best value for money.

For everyone who grabbed a kit, how are you finding the new forearms and their weight? from what I can read/watch it seems like all the new options are just a bit too heavy for the existing joints. I think the Shadow Fisher version actually comes with a new screw for Bonecrusher to make that a bit more sturdy but Scavenger misses out because it is a pin and not very easily fixed apparently.

It seems annoying in a way that with all the options available, none for me personally include everything that you want hehe. I don't really want to pay ~$150 or more to buy various kits and have leftovers from all of them!

I felt dna was the best value for money.
Shadow fisher fixed one arm but that's it.

One of the reviews I saw had both and preferred dna.

Dna also offered to replace my devy face plate as it was scratched.
