Postage Question

Hi guys,

Firstly, when ordering from overseas (read robot kingdom :P) if the value of the order gets over a certain value, does the shipping become more expensive, or does this not affect the price at all.
Secondly, if i preorder something within my original order will they ship the preorder item later or will they wait till the preorder item is in before shipping out the whole package?
Finally, is there some limit of value of an order when customs charges extra tax or similar?

I think it's mostly calculated by weight. This is Japanese but it's a pretty good guide. Yen on the side, weight below.

I would think that if you ordered it all at the same time it would ship together. I ordered a bunch of BTs including Convoy which was delayed. I'm still waiting for it to arrive :/

The limit including postage is $1000AUD. Over that amount you get charged tax for the total including shipping cost.

RK has a shipping calculator.. it's really impossible to answer your question without knowing exactly what goes into it. Just add all your items to cart & proceed to checkout. Enter a phone number (can be anything) and choose a shipping method, then on the next screen it'll show you the shipping cost. Clicking the next button on that screen confirms the order and takes you to Paypal!

A few times now, i've been upgraded for free to EMS after choosing Registered Parcel. It seems to be when the box is big (say a leader + voyager). Anyway, i guess on their end, EMS must work out cheaper when they complete the order, but their website isn't aware of it - if you estimate the EMS cost on their site for the same order, it is always higher! If you're patient i'd just go Registered Parcel all the time, the worst that can happen is it takes a few weeks, the best is they upgrade and you get it in 4 days :)

I can't help with the second of your questions, never been in that situation, though I can say you will definitely pay before the pre-order item is released, so make sure you're certain! The third question, i've heard items totalling $1000+ will go through customs, but that isn't always the case if you get lucky!

they must always upgrade, I've never waited longer than 5 days for an RK order.

Recently I pre-ordered Henkei Ratchet at the same time as I placed another order. They charged me the full amount up-front (including the pre-order). Since RK have no "Pile of Loot" system, They ship whatever is in stock & as soon as your pre-order arrives, that gets shipped on its own :).
