Have you found a Titan Fortress Maximus 2016 toy anywhere in Australia?

If so please post what store, and how many they had, and if possible, the date you saw it.

I'm reading these threads every other day, hoping for any news on BIG W Fortress Maximus in WA, and so far nothing.

Then in another thread I see somebody saw some in the Eastern states in a BIG W.

So please list whatever you know.
The other "first sightings" thread for OZ is closed (Why?) so I could not post there.:confused:

So far they are only found in Myer. Should be available in Big W by June 16th when their toy sale starts.

For Myer, the CBD stores seem to be getting a fair bit of stock in.

That thread is only updated by the administrator who checks each state/territory's individual sightings threads and will update that thread accordingly. So all we need to do is post on our respective state/territory's sightings thread (WA for you) and griffin will do the rest. :) He's nice that way. :D

yep it was $249. I'm not really interested at that price. the introductory price of Metroplex at Big W was $100 I think, maybe $120. granted it was several months after it turned up at other retailers for $200 or more but I was happy to wait.

This Metroplex is a significant remould, granted a lot of development time would have still been devoted to it and it would have very expensive moulds. But I'd be surprised is some of the moulds haven't been re-used. I just can't justify more than double.

don't get me wrong, I think it looks great, but with some lacklustre reviews and my above comments, I'm not forking out top dollar for this guy.

EDIT: Thanks for posting, this is why I started the thread, people were posting in random places where I would find info by accident, meanwhile no updates on the main aussie info page, and updates on the Fort Max / Titans thread.

I'm fine with $250 and intend to layby as soon as I find one. I live in WA so as soon as some turn up I'll be driving around until I grab one and head for the hills. I've been looking forward to this toy from the second they announced it.:)

Two days ago somebody on this forum posted about a fort max in a BIG W, I didn't see pics then, just text.

Then within 24 hours of that I started this thread.
Then you posted in this thread. Which would be after the toy was available, granted maybe you didn't know about it, but then I wonder, did you read the post just above?

Perhaps I should have been more specific in the first post of the thread?

My mistake of not realizing that they were already out earlier. The first I saw of this was the post by UM in this very thread that he sighted them to which my old eyes did not see that he said this weekend and thought it was today which was also a shock to many including those who worked at Big W.

I did however take offense to the statement that someone was lying on this site as there are no hidden agendas here and nothing is to be gained by doing so.

I'm surprised that they are out on show at any store. As of when I left work yesterday ours were on the backdock where they should be. If someone decides to put them out on show before the 16th it's not like I have any control over that, but I would be ever so slightly annoyed.

Anyway as long as we are sighting toysale items at Big W, has any stores down south put out their Victorion sets yet? That's what I actually care about getting from the toy sale this year. As usual I'm going Takara Tomy for Fort Max so I won't be grabbing him from work.

First sighting I've heard of Victorian down south courtesy of Mbot:

Heaps of Fort Max and Victorion at Karingal Big W, in the kitchen/dining section (opposite side of the store from the toy section).

Don't think we're going to have scalper issues like with Devi based on the numbers we're seeing in stores now.

I've heard they are plentiful at Big W Fountain Gate (which is usually hopeless for TF stock), so that's 2 stores in the south east 'burbs with stock out and on sale. Seriously, I doubt this is going to be anything like Devi re scalpers.

Karingal Big W were doing the same as they did a few years back - putting out a lot of the larger toy sale items around the store (including the ends of isles next to the walls, out of view unless you're looking for them) prior to the sale going live. Makes sense too - the bigger items (size wise) would be difficult to keep in storage while they're getting a flood of stock of toys ahead of the sale.

I'm disappoint to see so many stores are ignoring the hold list. Good luck getting them guys. I can't even get one myself before the sale at my store. My manager doesn't want upset customers so they won't let anyone buy one before the 16th.

I honestly don't know why they would hold back on selling them now. Why let Myer have an early run at potential sales (albeit probably shelf warmer at the massive price)?

At Karingal, they were not particualrly well hidden away (in the kitchen section rather than the toy section) and were fully ticketed for sale. I'd be shocked if they wouldn't let me buy one (which I'll be trying to do tomorrow via lay by).

I went for the midnight opening of Big W's sale last year only to find out they didn't even have any of the advertised Devastators (and didn't have for several weeks). They sold out of Lego Helicarriers in about 35 seconds after doors opened as well. So keeping the embargo wasn't exactly a wonderful experience either.

Some Big Ws seem to be adhering to the embargo date though; I called Big W Top Ryde and Macquarie Centre today and both said that neither of them have the toy in stock, and Macquarie said that they won't be stocking it until the embargo date.

At this rate I'm glad I got mine early. Heck I was lucky to get devastator last year as he was the first (and last) one I saw for months.
I'm glad I pre-ordered mine online. While it does mean getting it later, it saves me from having to run around to various Big Ws hunting it down. Physical hunting also adds to the cost in fuel/transport, not to mention the amount of time wasted even just from all the phohe calls. Calling those two Big Ws today took up about half an hour of my time (although I was in traffic and was speaking to them via speaker mode). And of course, it works out significantly cheaper than local RRP. :)

But yeah, I remember constantly calling half a dozen Big Ws every day leading up to Devastator's release, being constantly told that they were sticking to the embargo date, and then going to the midnight sale only to discover that they only had two Devastators left, both of which were kept on the back room. :eek: How the hell did they get so low on stock when it was only a few minutes after embargo?!? :eek: :confused:

Not only were Victorion and Fort Max on shelf for sale at Fountain Gate Big W this morning, but they allowed me to lay by. Even better, the lady at the counter said that if they reduce the price during the course of the sale, they will likewise reduce the lay by as appropriate. I realise that is not expected at this point, but still.

She also (without being asked), put Fort Max in a bag before stickering it, saying "since it's a collectable, we don't want to damage the box with a sticker".

In part, this made up for my poor experience with Big W last year.:)

I can confirm Gok's phone conversations, I stopped at Big W Macquarie at lunch and while they have a massive amount of Lego and other toys out already they don't have the keystone items like Fort Max, Victorion, the Helicarrier or the Ghostbusters firehouse. I did a tour of most of the store.

Simple. You cannot advertise something for a specific date if you do not have stock. There are penalties for this. Why sell it before if you're advertising as having it in store and on sale from X date?

That's a pretty sensible argument. Perhaps they have some stock out, while withholding some stock to ensure they have at least a few units available for the sale?

Again, I would suggest my experience with Big W last year was a poor one. They had the Lego Helicarrier for sale for probably less than 1 minute of the sale before the extremely limited supplies were exhausted (making a mockery of their catalogue advertisement). And no Devis at all (not Big W's fault, I seem to remember a distribution issue from Hasbros end).

No penalties were brought to bear in that instance that I'm aware of. Not sure why they would worry now.

BIG W mid year toy sale catalogue came in mail today.

Fort max (and Victorion) are in there.

Victorian at $150 (what a steal!)

Fort Max at $250.

Not sure if it's been mentioned as I'm not interested in Fort Max, but Myer has it in next weeks catalogue for $269.95. I know it's dearer than BigW but it may be a better option for some people here. Price match maybe?:)

According to their Pricing Policy (https://www.myer.com.au/p/customer-service/competitive-pricing-policy/), Big W must have the toy in stock and ready for immediate sale... which is kinda silly because if Big W already has the toy in stock, then I would've gone straight there to buy it instead of Myer! :rolleyes: Even if I found the toy at Myer first, you have to show them Big W's catalogue and then get them to call Big W to confirm that it's in stock blah blah blah... I might as well just walk over to Big W and just freakin' buy the toy from them.

I can understand them not price matching an item that's not been in stock for a long time, but surely if it's only recently sold out then they might consider price matching. Whatever... their loss. :rolleyes:

Online copy is now on the BigW site (link is in this news topic here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=23017)).

BigW stores now have the catalogue in stores (I picked up one today), but get to them before the sale starts as I've always found the stores have run out on the day it starts.

I couldn't get to Tweed City Big W over the weekend, but today all the toy sale toys were out, but there were big empty gaps where Fortress Maximus and the Ghostbusters HQ should be, so either scalpers/collectors already grabbed them, or they're following the rules and not putting them out yet (not likely, as all their Devastators were gone before last year's sale). Still really hope I can grab one, at least they had a few Victorions waiting for the price drop which I'll get.

Checked out Penrith today, nothing out that is big like FM or Victorian. So asked the service counter and the lady said that all the expensive stuff is likely to be out the back as they're going to be put out exactly at 12pm Wednesday night.
That's what I was repeatedly told by every Big W store that I called about CW Devastator... and we all know how that turned out! :rolleyes:

Big W had CW Devy last year down to $150, but no store in WA I could find had him in stock. I went to a bunch, nothing.

Ended up doing a layby on one in Toyworld Freo for $250 down from $300.
I could have kept looking for more BIG W ones, but with the amount you spend on fuel going north of the city and all over - not worth it. And Freo Toyworld is a 20 min drive for me.

I asked them earlier if they would get in the Titan Max, and I've asked several times and they just say "we don't know". So Big W it is for me, especially seeing as I can pay him off over several months leaving some $$$ to pick up the upcoming Titans Returns deluxe/voyager scale figures.

Thanks for the heads up on Mighty Ape, just ordered my Fort Max from there - still 3 left at the moment! Also, they price beat Big W on Victorion at $148 (save $1!) with no extra cost to ship ($5 flat rate).

Might be a good option for those that aren't able to find one at their local stores

Anyway, I didn't even see any of these at Bigw today, but then again I didn't look too hard. Everyone was buying lego. Insane. Everyone in the lay buy queue had lego, and the staff kept on bringing the ghostbusters, superheros and starwars large sets from the secure area to the counter for people. I'd say they're all sold out of those now as this was like just after 8 this morning.

at the midnight openings big W in sunbury had none
watergardens had 2 left at about 2am they and 2 victorion's are right near the layby section, on top of the shelf opposite where their measly transformers selection is.

At Big W Kwinana:

about 6 Fort Max and 4 Victorion.

And Lego:

I grabbed the last Ghostbuster Firestation and got it for $450 :D

There is no GB Firestations left at Warnbro and the young lass rang to find out for me. There is still Sand Crawlers and Helicarriers available at Kwinana.

Also I dont think this has been mentioned, but the layby period for the toy sale has been extended till the 3rd December so there is no 10 week layby for the toy sale.

Thanks for posting everyone. Saw a slimer toy in Big W today that looked pretty cool. Didn't buy it though, too busy obsessing over Tformers... bots on the brain.:)

Layby'd my Fort Max and Victorion at Big W Kawana yesterday. They had at least three other Fort Maxes on a pallet with other large items a bit away from the toy department, and a large number of Victorions.

Yesterday on the first day of the sale, the Garden City BigW store in Brisbane had about 8 Fortress Maximus and about 6 Victorions at 90 minutes after they opened (so might have had a few more at opening), but by the end of the day (about 6.30pm) all of their Victorions were gone, and only two Fort Max toys were left.

Its really good that people are buying these larger expensive transformers showing that customers will purchase these and at decent prices (not looking at a major toy store :rolleyes:).

I reckon other contributing factors to Fort Max's superior popularity over Victorion's would be:
* Character history. Fort Max has been ingrained in the psyche of Transformer fans since 1987, whereas more casual fans are more likely to look at Victorion and think, "Who the hell is that?!"
* Fort Max's colours aren't an eyesore. :p

Hello, chaps just wondering if anyone in the Sydney region has spotted a Transformers Titans Return Fortress Maximus on sale for $120? I've noticed Big W are having a clearance so would love to know if any are still around. :)

I very much doubt it. Try calling Big W and quoting item No. 042 9677 to see if there are any left. From memory the last remaining stock was in Erina, and that was about six months ago.
