Well the paint job is a little different from both the Takara and Hasbro retail versions and it comes with a sword! Yeah I'll probably end up buying this...

Would've been nicer if this was maybe Brave Max/Grand Max or ~something~ that wasn't just a slightly redeco'd regular Takara release. Never really sure how I feel about these SDCC exclusives. Never really understood why their Devastator remold wasn't in yellow and purple. There's a market for obscure coloured limited edition things, why not take advantage of it?

Agreed... not just new characters but even different colours would have been more popular

SDCC Metroplex > Necro Titan or Metro Titan
SDCC Devastator > Yellow or Orange
SDCC Fortress Maximus > Brave Maximus

All of the above would sell like hot cakes... I know that I would want them...

This boxart shows the SDCC Sentinel Prime boxart from another angle. The Sentinel pack is the one i'd go for over these small changes.

Not really, the sword can be bought by other means. Not always the sdcc version is good so is a gamble.

Dont worry about all the other versions at PC they are sold out, concentrate on what is now and you be fine.

If I'm not mistaken PC had the Hasbro version at $169, Takara's at $239 and now this at $230.
Very fair prices considering the free shipping.
This SDCC version should have just been the retail version.
Need a Grand Max variant... c'mon HasTak gimme gimme! :p

If I hadn't already bought Maximus at Big W (and admittedly, had the fun and satisfaction of an early release) I'd totally buy the SDCC version. I'm astounded that it came in at under Big W retail, considering how much it is to ship it from RK.

I really hope they get the other SDCC exclusives. I read speculation that Brainstorm might not see a Hasbro single release... Windblade looks gorgeous in blue.
