The Beast Wars 20th Anniversary is heating up, folks!
Hot on the heels of Perfect Effect's PE-DX06 Gorira (Optimal Optimus) (http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/07/01/perfect-effect-reveals-pe-dx06-beast-gorira-318239) comes the TransArt BW-04 edition of the Maximal leader (http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/07/31/product-announcement-transart-toys-bw-04-bw-optimal-optimus-320861).
Call me a purist but the TransArt offering is ticking all the boxes. The attention to detail and likeness of the show model is incredible.

Crap... which one do I get? They both look awesome.
Slightly leaning towards the TransArt version

Digging the TransArt one more, but as they're at different scales (and aesthetics), why not get both?

Hopefully this gives Takara an incentive to make an MP Optimal Optimus!

The Perfect Effect one looks mighty yummy to me :)
I do find purchasing one a little difficult as the originals were already fully articulated and the CG renders were done based on the toys...
So this has to look really really good in all modes plus have a couple of added features to make me want to purchase it.
As yummy as it may be :p

Original toy was pretty awesome but could do with some improvements like articulated fingers, none annoying armour plates. Aside from that, the original is still a much better toy than most modern main line toys.
I will probably only get one but need to decided within one.

What I like about PEs is that it looks beefier and stocky. Since I already have the original toy which looks lanky, I do not need another like it.

Totally in for PE's.
Everywhere has it up for pre-order (with robotkingdom being the cheapest so far), but here's hoping PremiumCollectables will have theirs up today for a regular killer price :)

Funny thing is (at least with Canada) if you factor in shipping its cheaper with BBTS. Who knew! Haha

Preorders (http://www.premiumcollectables.com.au/products/pe-dx06-beast-gorira) for PE's Gorira up at PC -- AU$150.

Pre-ordered PE Gorira; I love his proportions!
Only downside I can see is the lack of retractable cannons, because when I was playing with the original as a kid that was the toy's biggest oversight. Sort of still want Transart, but unless it ends up fairly cheap I can probably give it a miss.

That is all kinds of awesome! As far as I'm concerned Beast Wars Inferno is a brilliant toy that holds up today, nonetheless after seeing pics of MP Cheetor and this I'd love to see a full size MP inferno post haste.

I'll be honest, it doesn't look very good. That looks almost exactly like the original toy. Don't get me wrong, the original is great and all, but the other one looks more aesthetically pleasing. Looks more like an advancement rather than just making the same thing

It is an odd choice. It has cosmetic improvements like articulation, retractable chest cannons and better use of the shields, but he's just so damn small. I'd much prefer Hasbro retool the original mold to incorporate similar updates as well as retaining his screen accuracy.
I compare the PE version to the likes of Generations updates. It's the same character, but with a new look.
In the end, I don't think I'll be picking up either of them.
