Well i though i might as well start up a car thread, well because i can

I myself have two old Falcons one i have recently given a new lease on life and the other i am in the middle of doing which i am getting really excited about because im finally getting somewhere with it:D

This first one is a 1965 XP Fairmont this was to replace my other falcon as my new daily driver but when i first got it about two years ago now it kinda looked like this and wanted to make it better

and after about 1 year after pulling it apart making it straight and rust free it is now looking like this

Now for the Beast i love this car to pieces ive had it since i was just over 15years old and have owned since im just over 25 now. Mind you it wasnt like this when i first got it was a bog standard 1971 XW Falcon with a 6 cylinder, Bench Seat, 4 wheel drum brakes, standard height and rubber floor.
At the moment i am in the process of respraying and then it will be used as my weekend car. Enjoy....

currently i have an ef fairmont which gets me form a to b, with little things done to it like new wheels, exhaust and stuff, but when i get outta uni and get a job i wanna get a nice new V8 if petrol prices are reasonable, or if i get a really high paying job :D

i would love to get an older ford like that XW you've got loophole, or an XY GT and fix it all up with a new engine and everything, but i really cant afford it, nor do i have the time or space in my garage haha

Heres my car, well the one that never gets driven. Owned it 5 years. Bought it with 50K on the clock, only down 68K now. Its a 94 VR SS. Before that owned a VP SS and my first car was a VN BT1 V8. All autos unfortunately but I love my 5.0L's. Can't wait for Bathurst this weekend. Looks like I'm on the other side of the fence to Soundwarp...lol! Like your XR8 btw and the old falcons are cool as too loophole!

I've been a petrolhead for as long as I can remember (I got a model kit when I was about 8 or so) & most years the inner passion gets released around about Summernats time :). I've been to about 10 or so over the years & I just luv it! Sky-high mountains of metal, smoking rubber... *smells it in the distance* :D

I guess I'm not really like you guys in that I haven't had one project car after another (I've had my first car for 10+ years now & shock/horror it's a 4... :eek: but at its current state, there aren't many Nat. Aspirated 4's that'll keep up with it around a racetrack :)).

My bro used to own a Clevo XY (that's now been written off by the P-plater who bought it off him :() & his current car is an XE ESP that's in excellent nick :).

Ever since I got that model kit of a '80 Chevy Camaro Z28 as a kid, I fell in luv with it & for the past 10 years or so, I've been budgeting & saving to build one in real life (of which my sums reach about 100K - & Yes, I'm being serious). About 8 years ago, I found the foundations of a possible project car for 8K in the trading post but I'm not one of those people who drag out the build over 10 years - so therefore I didn't buy it at that point in time. I want to have the funds ready & get straight into it.

Yes, we all have a Mate called "Gonna" (Gonna do this, gonna do that :D) who never actually turns those plans into reality but, by the time I turn 50, my Camaro of a 100K Budget will be a reality. (& that's a guarantee! :))

Dude i am Ford through and through but that is a nice car!!!!!!!!!!

and on the V8 supercars i only watch Bathurst nowadays, over the past years i have really gotton sick of the Ford vs Holden crap i will still defend Fords through and through but i can also appreciate a nice Holden.

The one thing i like about "project" cars is the satisfaction of doing it yourself and getting everything done YOUR way but i also understand that not everyone has the abilities or access to do what you to a car but Pulse with that sort of cash you will get what you want anyway.

The XW was my first car and will be last car and ive owned that for 10 years now and that will be a never ending project because lets be honest cars are never ending fun theres always something more you can do trust me;)

well i have finished cleaning, painting and polishing my car and here it is in all its glory on the beach at Wallaroo. Its looking its best for the tenth year that ive owned it mmmmmm i love it so much :D

Looks good Loophole! I love cars, been into them since a kid as well, although back then I was more into the exotics (Lamborghini Countach being my fav) but over the years have gotten more into muscle cars and sport trucks (I'm from Canada, I guess they'd be Utes here).

It's cool to see the Aussie classic cars though. Unfortunately I dont know much about them yet but I've been trying to learn what I can. You guys definatly have alot of cool Aus. specific stuff here, even the Fords are quite different which surprised me.
