Help, I'm having an old man hates internet moment.

I purchased a large lot of vintage lego this week, well because it was close to my house lol.

I'm trying to id some pieces to see what sets may be in the lot (5KG).

Below are what I would call unique pieces - bear in mind I have not touched or looked at lego for 20+ years. I can remember when green lego was first released. :o

If someone could please provide some guidance on what the best resource to ID parts is and maybe some hints I am sure I will be away. (well back to the pile of lego for the rest of the week).

The mini figures that came with the lot vary from space to castle and some police or firemen.

Try Bricklink (www.bricklink.com). The detailed parts list can be confusing at first but it's interesting! You can even try Googling 'Lego Classic Space' or 'Lego Classic Town' and identify sets with the unique parts via the image search.

Not being a lego man myself I though I'd have a quick try (bored at work :p) and a big tick to brinklink - took about 20 seconds to find the trailer:

You just have to look in whichever categories you think it might live in (eg the trailer i checked "vehicle - base" 1st)

Ill have a crack at a couple more

Cheers guys, blue trailer seems the easiest one - bricklink did send me a little crazy last night, I need to get familiar with the correct terminology.

Looks like I have a - Car with Plane Transporter Item No: 660-1 at least :)

Legend thanks! Think I have the hang of that site now.

Plane is missing his wing and the tipper truck missing his front window. :D

Think I'm going to look at the castle pieces now. I can see this getting addictive.

Great score there, I still have the set for the sloped grey, clear blue pieces and white tail looking piece the Starfleet Voyager 6929 (although it is called Space Transporter in the 1985 catalogue). Had it since new, and is on display 32 years later :)

Awesome, yep they belong to that set, I am just missing a couple of the white 'spoiler' parts at the back (they were included but broken). I have quite a few of the classic space sets packed away, my parents were very consistent - only buy space lego :D The ones that I always wanted from the catalogues were those castle sets but I guess they were pretty popular back then.
