Ehobby (http://www.e-hobby.co.jp/shopdetail/000000003007/) have revealed a new exclusive redeco Transformers toy - Magna Convoy - which is a blue/black version of the 2006 Voyager Optimus toy, with a new sword and gun (http://news.tfw2005.com/2016/12/02/e-hobby-magna-convoy-revealed-329448).

It is scheduled for release in May 2017, for 7000yen (about AU$82), with the pre-order period in January.

Edit: it's nice, I'll probably get it, but the choice of accessories is a bit lacking and also this mold? I mean hey, better late than never, but yeah. Would've liked a CW Prime in Delta Magnus colours tho but hey can't always get what you want I suppose!

According to tfwiki (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Magna_Convoy), this toy is coloured to homage the cab (only) of the Delta Magnus toy, which was based on the pre-Transformers Diaclone toy Powered Convoy.

It notes that the cab was a non-sentient drone, which has now been given life, and a name (Magna Convoy).

The two weapons are the sword from TR Alpha Trion, and the gun from TR Mindwipe.

Funnily enough, the eHobby ConvoBat doesn't have a blue tail/shield-thing that the regular Mindwipe toy comes with, making this the only way to get a blue tail/shield-thing for ConvoBat?

I had a quick look at the two, & the shield that comes with powered convoy seems a bit darker than the blue used on convo?

Yeah true, but I suppose, aside from doing your own painting, that's the best you're gonna get.

that could just be different exposure values for the photos. Hard to tell without seeing them both in the same photo.

Totally agree. That's why I like doing and seeing side by side comparison photos as it means that both toys are photographed under the same conditions (even if the conditions are crap as in most of my pics :p). I didn't realise that CW Drillhorn's blue was so much lighter than G1 Drillhorn's until I put the toys side by side.

Ehobby have tweeted out (https://twitter.com/eHOBBY_SHOP) some images of Magna Convoy, including a group shot of its last four exclusives (mirrored here (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/04/15/e-hobby-magna-convoy-new-images-337305)).

It's been a while since there has been an update or new images, and the exact release date is still yet to be known, but it is still listed as a May release on the ehobby website (http://www.e-hobby.co.jp/shopdetail/000000003007/).

It's amazing that this mould is almost 11 years old now, and used about a dozen times during that time.

An exact release date has now been posted on the ehobby page - June 5th... a little late, from the "late May" release date it has had on there for the last five months.

This is out now, and one of the first people to get one and post up photos (can be seen here (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/06/06/e-hobby-magna-convoy-hand-images-bludgeon-teased-340866)) has posted up a page of the included comic, which shows a redeco Hardhead as Bludgeon... either as a tease of a future toy, or just there as a tease.

I like Magna Convoy's sword. It's also interesting to see that he also comes with Mindwipe's claw/shield accessory - Though I wouldn't know how it'd integrate into the alt-mode. I don't have room in my budget for eHobby exclusives, but I think it looks good.

Bludgeon... Hmmm. I'm glad Takara found a use for the TR Breakaway head, but all this looks forced.

I wonder though, would there be any reason why they can't just release Quake under the Legends banner, and maybe release TR Breakaway as Lightfoot? Just thinking aloud..
