Thoughts: A relatively basic but solid toy considering it's size and budget/price point. It's actually a much more complex toy compared to it's simple G1 counterpart (even by 1986 standards). They probably could've done more with this toy if it were a Deluxe, but the good thing about being a Legends is that the toy is more plentiful (as smaller/cheaper figures are produced in larger numbers than larger/dearer ones), which is good news for army builders and also for non-army builders. With previous Deluxe-class army-builder toys (e.g. Generations Scourge, TFPRiD Vehicon etc.), those toys were really hard for me to find because so many people were army building, making them scarce. When I went to buy Gnaw I actually found that there were more Gnaws there than Kickbacks. Anyway, I hope that everyone who's looking for this toy gets one. :)

Really lacking paint apps. Especially the teeth. They need to be chrome or silver paint. Will wait and see what Tak does with this one.

I don't have him in hand yet, but his Sharkticon mode is so cute!:D
And I've heard a lot people complaining about the forearms being in a permanently bent position. Honestly it doesn't bother me at all. I think it's a smart design choice to reduce part counts while keeping solid support in Sharkticon mode.

The original only had grey teeth.
I am loving it. I got one at Big W which is on my desk at work. I think it looks best in shark mode. I have three more on order from Toy Bento and hoping to get another to round out the collection.
I was interested to see the green plastic for the eyes actually lines the inside of the entire head.

The original had chrome teeth.

The chrome on mine is scuffed and may look greyish in photos, but it's definitely chrome.

Fair enough. Kind of looks like Jaws from James Bond.

First impression wasn't great, mostly down to his back basically being missing, but the robot mode has grown on me. It's very nicely detailed and looks pretty much right outside the missing or rearranged kibble. But in Sharkticon mode, he shines. A deluxe-size toy might have improved some of the simplicity, but they've done a great job with this.

Hey Gok,
Did you see that Reprolabels has released a set that includes teeth? Each sheet comes with three sets of stickers.

I stopped following Reprolabels years ago when they switched to only accepting payments via PayPal (as I don't use it). :o Anyway, for a small and relatively cheap Legends figure, I think that Gnaw is fine.

There should be an option to vote for 'buying multiple'

You can pay by CC as well now Gok. :)

Ooh, cheers for that info! :D I'm personally not into adding extra stickers to embellish my toys (as I like to keep them as HasTak intended, warts and all ;)), but I wouldn't mind getting some reprolabels for G1 toys whose stickers have worn or just fallen off. :o

Not a fan of the robot mode due to the arms and legs being in a permanently bent position but then the 'bot mode of the toy was meant to be the weakest aspect, just like the G1 toy (or any G1 toy for that matter). The alt. mode on the other hand is what this guy's all about. A cute little ball of death.

Got Gnaw last night and I admit I agree with the general sentiment that his bot mode is compromised (empty back) to better accommodate his alt mode. But with that said what an alt mode, his Sharkticon mode is fantastic and just oozes character!
My partner and I had a great time posing the little bruisers together, my missus especially loved feeding the tails of the Sharkitcons to one another.
Some have also stated that he needed to be a little bigger and I will not disagree but his difference in scale from what he is to what he should be is so negligible that it is hardly even worth bringing up. He looks amazing clamping down onto the arm of TR Hotrod, under MP Grimlocks heel or chewing on Generation Kup's musket muzzle. I actually feel this is Gnaw's greatest strength in that he looks great in almost any display and scales well with so many figs. I even put him in with my Animated collection and felt he was right at home.
Tooth is Gnaw is just a fantastic little ball of plastic mayhem, fun to pose, transform and fiddle with. I can't wait to amass more Gnaws from my current 6 to the planned 16.
The Gnaws go marching four by four Harah! Harah!
The Gnaws go marching four by four Harah! Harah!
The Gnaws go marching four by four the little one slipped and hurt his paw.
And they all go marching in the hopes of finding more!

If possible, have you thought about posing Gnaw with Sharkticon Megatron from Prime Beast Hunters?

What a wonderful little figure. Neat transformation, slightly odd robot mode, but the 'shark' mode is DEAD ON.

I've noticed the stat cards for all the other TRs show a picture of the robot mode. Yet Gnaw's card shows the alt. mode. That says it all really.

Very true... I actually consider the "humanoid" mode to be the alt. mode and the Sharkticon mode to be the actual "robot" mode, so in a sense it's fully consistent! :)
I love this little guy! A diminutive robot mode and a rather cute little Sharkticon mode that although is a little on the small side, nonetheless is endearing enough for me to be able to recommend this guy! Here's my video review:

Yeah, I think with a lot of characters with Beast modes, like Grimlock, Sharkticons, etc; the Beast mode is their true form, while the purpose of the android mode is more for social interaction. Gnaw is basically a hungry beast who's only loyal to the last person who fed him, and I think that behavior is more fitting for an animal than a person (not to insult Gnaw). I like this because it creates diversity among the types of characters we see in Transformers.

Just got the TakaraTOMY version of this toy. Much more toy accurate colours, yay! I like how it comes with a variant Scourge head called "Sweeps." Not "Sweep," but Sweeps. A single dude with a pluralised name. :D Like calling someone "Jacobs" or "Catherines." :p I was at Tha_Phantom's place when I opened my toys and I jokingly said that they must've pluralised the name "Sweeps" to avoid trademark issues with The Sooty Show (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sooty_Show). He didn't get it (bloody Millennials! :p).
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some clouds to shout at
