Hey guys just wondering who here loves nandos? Personally I cannot get enough of the chicken but too much of the breast meat will make me want to puke lol

I also love perinaise and peri peri chips, I even just lick the salt leftover:D

And just because you guys read the thread I though i'd share a coupon with fellow ozformers:

Buy one portugese BBQ burger and get one free! Bet griffin might like to try it :p

Please share your thoughts on Nandos chicken.

I can't stand Nandos, actually. I much prefer Oporto which is better priced & Australian (Nandos is South African).

But if you enjoy it, good luck to ya (:

I find the chicken at oportos very bland, does not appear to be marinated whereas the sauce is just doused on top of it.

However the burgers and chips are great, bondi burgers :d

Nandos is great, shame it's so expensive.

refuse to try due to massive hatred of the ads they used to run on TV and Radio here.

I find Nando's to be poor value for money... I don't find Nando's to be very filling at all. :/ There's also a irony in Nando's being a place that serves Portuguese cuisine yet the company is South African. :) Of course, I've never come across any Oporto staff who could speak Portuguese either (I don't think my Portuguese pronunciation is that bad that they wouldn't be able to understand what I'm trying to say). :p

Still...

...one of only two times I've ever been to Nando's in my life.

I prefer Oportos. Although it's an Australian company, the guy who founded it was originally from Portugal. I also find it better value for money and I just feel generally fed after eating there, whereas I still feel hungry after Nando's. d: :p

I miss Oportos.. Lived off it last time I was in Australia, but now the closest one is in Auckland and I would rather fly to Sydney than Auckland to get.

How do you find the Peri Peri cravings?

I work Part-time at a Nando's in Victoria.

I must admit the food is pretty expensive and I can say that I've only ever bought food once or twice even with staff discounts. I don't agree with the non-filling aspect - if you buy a meal then you've got quite a lot of food depending on whether you buy chips or spicy rice as a side along with a burger or chicken etc..

The local Nando's is pretty new considering it's only been open since mid February. Hygiene-wise no one ever touches their face then handles food, at least not while I'm on my shifts.

The ad's on television and in store are pretty lame at times, especially 'The Big Chicken' promotion they had a few months ago that was a take off of Big Brother, a show you would have to pay me to have watched.

Peri-Peri salt is the best thing to have come out of Nando's, and it's a shame that the company doesn't sell it as a separate product.

That's my two cents.

lol I had no idea that I had been to Nando's until I saw Gok's pics!

Before this thread I wasn't even aware of what Nando's was, I thought we had just walked in some random Mall restaurant.

Yeah the food is ok but not value for money but that was the only time I have eaten there.

Never been to nandos or oportos. None around that I've noticed to even go to.

I just go to hungry jacks.

the high prices kills nandos - i love it, and still go on occasion, and if the prices dropped i would go much more

I understand Nando's is poor value, but I find the fiesta is alright shared between 2 around $10 each (normal meals at other restaurants $10 your general asian restaurants and what not).

With coupons can you really complain!! :p

I dunno about Nandos, never bothered to try. I'm a HJ, RR, or KFC man 99.9% of the time which you could tell by looking at me :p Aporto on the rare occassions where I've tried have been pretty good. Last one I had was on Chapel Street a while back near KFC and I just was fed up with consistently inconsstent Zinger burgers at KFC

Well, me and my wife used k.wong23's voucher to make the value worthwhile - around $4.75 for a pretty damn big (and messy) burger! We both enjoyed it, so thanks k.wong23!

We used to go quite often, but my regular, the double chicken burger meal with added cheese, upgraded to large, is almost 20 bucks! It's not worth us driving, when we live walking distance from all the other fast-food places that have much cheaper meals.

I'm a Red Rooster and KFC man for sure, with some subway added in every now and then for variety... Also quite enjoy the friday/saturday night fish n chips or pizza.. I have only had Nandos once and it was good, but expensive as others have said.. Might try it some more in the future

Dude, you and I could live together fine. Friday is my fish n' chips night. If I miss it then, I make up for it on Saturday. :) The best place in Melbourne, I absolutely assure you, is basically across the road from lcz128's place! When he told me how good it was, I didn't believe him since the joint I usually hit was pretty good but the fish n' chips on High Street Preston are absolutely unbelievable. I'm looking forward to Friday already. :)

Haha well if I'm ever looking for a housemate you're first in line.. Sweet whats it called? or where abouts exactly on High street? I will probably stay at uni late tomorrow night doing an assignment, short drive from Bundoora to Preston for some fish n chips will be a perfect tea break :D

This is off topic, but is there any Transformer-related clubs at Bundoora La Trobe I should know about, since I might be going there next year to do a graduate diploma.

Ahh to be honest I'm not sure, I don't get involved with any of the clubs or anything like that so I can't say, I doubt it though..

I can however highly recommend La Trobe Bundoora, sure there may be some more "respected" uni's around but nothing comes close to the atmosphere there, great location, huge area, plenty of places to sit/eat/study/shop/anything... Agora in summer is the best place, and nothing beats going between lectures/tutes (or skipping them) for a couple of beers at the Eagle Bar..
