Yeah, 25,000 Yen ($290) appears to be the RRP as seen on Action Robo.
BBTS also has the shipping weight listed as 2.8 pounds/1.27 kgs.
That's almost the same as a 1.25 litre bottle of Pepsi.
That's extremely disappointing, yet expected.

Given that Metroplexs weight is quoted at ~12 pounds and Fort Max is listed as ~12 and a leader like Blaster is almost 2 I think it's pretty obvious that weight is wrong and is just a placeholder BBTS stuck there

not really, its also based on bulk not just the weight.
TT shadows......sigh....they need to improve on marketing, since Hasbro has already SHOWED the product, its no longer logical to continue to tease, I only can based a decision on full on toy pics. They lost me at Fort Max and they loosing me again. Oh well I guess I spend on something else.

The thought had crossed my mind, but if current product is anything to go by, the figure will still be a lightweight, cost effective hollow shell.

Shipping cost looks at both actual weight and volumetric weight and charges whichever is the greater. So while he may weigh bugger all, he takes up a lot of space so probably won't be cheap to ship at all.

Fair call. I do use MYUS.com as my US freight forwarder for orders from the US. What's great about them is they just use the shipping weight, not volumetric weight (they call it TruePrice). But in this case it's still probably cheaper to order directly from Japan than from say Amazon US, BBTS etc.

Would love a tail extension! :)
This figure has so much detail though, I'm really hoping it will blow Hasbro's out of the water for paint apps to really bring it all out.

My only concern with LG-43 is ... where are all the other LGs that should be released between LG-42 and LG-43
That is a long long gap of waiting and hoping that Takara actually release some of the items that Hasbro are putting out in the Titan Masters line.

I think TT like to avoid their CHUG-based lines going up too high in numbers. Probably after the movie they'll start back at 0 with a new line or whatever.

Well... on the one hand, a September release at BBTS would mean August release in Japan, and that's 3 months after LG-42 (May)... which was also 3 months after LG-41 (February). So not a sudden drought because of the Movie toys.
But on the other hand, after getting 3-5 Legends toys most months in the second half of last year to give us 19 regular release toys, we've just got just three for the first three-quarters of 2017... so I don't think it's because of the Movie line, as this drought started in January.
It means a lot are being missed if Trypticon is number 43, as we have 3 waves from Hasbro between the toys that TakaraTomy did so far (up to wave 2's Astrotrain), to Trypticon who will come out at about the same time as the wave 5 TR toys.

It'll still be hollow and light considering the toys we're getting these days in the TR line, regardless of it's weight.
GoktimusPrime

Toys with hollowed out parts aren't necessarily lighter.
e.g. Combiner Wars Hook weighs 176g whereas Generations Springer with all accessories attached weighs 148g. So despite Hook's 'hollowness,' he's actually heavier than non-hollowed Voyagers like Springer.

I hope not! And it's a bit disconcerting when TTMall is using the same renders as Hasbro (http://takaratomymall.jp/shop/g/g4904810887997/) rather than live shots which they have traditionally done...

It's a nice comparison for sure! But TT could have used a grey prototype (http://i.imgur.com/N67vflK.jpg?1) to ably demonstrate scale and dimensions, or in the absence of that, put in a disclaimer that the final colours may vary etc...
This only confuses the consumer who is deciding which version to choose.

It looks like they have bent Metroplex's legs a bit for the pic and straightened Trypticon up more than he has been in any other photo we have seen to date, making them look approximately the same height. \
I still think Trypticon is shorter, but perhaps its not such the discrepancy that many (including myself) had feared.

2017 Legends Series Featured Item!
Transforming into robot, vehicle and base modes, Triple-Changer "Dynosaurer" revealed!
Total robot mode height is about 45cm! Mouth has Headmaster eating fun feature.
Base and vehicle modes have "storage compartments" - "Start Game/Play" luxurious/glorious specification that you can enjoy! (I really don't know what that means, "lots of ways you can play with it", maybe?)
1 deluxe size equivalent Headmaster "Full-Tilt" included/attached.
Product Description: Dinosaurer Body (1), Full-Tilt (Vehicle) (1), Headmaster (1), Catapult (1), Weapon (1), User Seal (1), Instruction Manual (1)
Dinosaurer Body, Full-Tilt, Headmaster & Instruction Manual are pretty self-explanatory, although I'd have hoped TakTom might have used the designs official name for "Headmaster" (not that they have on most of their other Headmaster listings).
The Catapult doesn't seem to be pictured, unless its the tower gun that was part of Brunt in the original and had a vehicle launcher (could be called a vehicle catapult) beneath it in City Mode, in which case Trypticon already has one.
The "Weapon" mentioned is Full-Tilt's Gun, again not a new accessory, meaning the new accesory is...
A "User Seal"!... for those of you who don't know, that means it could be in the form of a relief cut coin, medallion or seal stamp (think device for imprinting a wax seal or more recently stamping ink onto a document) - if it were Hasbro we were talking about it'd probably be a small paper owners certificate with a foil sticker on it (as dissapointing as it sounds, please TakTom don't let it be that dissapointing!).
Unfortunately there is no mention of any "yet to be revealed" or "secret" bonus, so unless I miss my guess about the catapult, I think we'll be looking to the SDCC/Convention/Hasbro Asia releases to fulfill our Brunt hopes.
The image here (https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://assets1.ignimgs.com/2017/02/17/trypticon-concept-sketch-head-1487352417831_1280w.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/02/17/hasbro-reveals-transformers-generations-trypticon-action-figure&h=917&w=1280&tbnid=Wj4vxJhJeR-VrM&tbnh=190&tbnw=265&usg=__ZUW9o2d9BmiJz88IiWFXd4vF4_E=&hl=en&docid=T-C0nehYzwXdIM#h=917&imgrc=Wj4vxJhJeR-VrM:&tbnh=190&tbnw=265&w=1280) clearly identifies some features of Dinosaurer, especially the Japanese Necro's real name, which most of us had already guessed. For your benefit, well TakTom's designers/managements benefit really, his name is written in English and Phoenetically in Japanese. The rest of the text, if you really want to know (I did so I asked for confirmation of my translations), is simply Throat, Upper Jaw (roof of the mouth/palet really since no animal/robo-dinosaur has an upper jaw), Lower Jaw & Eyeball in Japanese.

I think the Hasbro version looks better. :o
Pretty interesting comic though. Seeing Trypticon rip out Metroplex's Transformation Cog with his teeth was vicious. Reminds me of when Galvatron did something similar to Fortress Maximus in the G1 Marvel Comics. And apparently the big red circle on Metroplex's chest is an Anti-Matter Projector which also causes Metroplex to self-destruct. Not sure what they mean about Full Tilt being Trypticon's "black box" though. I'm guessing that it might mean that he's like a secondary/back-up memory component should they need to rebuild Trypticon (perhaps to explain why Full-Tilt has become a Headmaster).

I'm guessing that it might mean that he's like a secondary/back-up memory component should they need to rebuild Trypticon (perhaps to explain why Full-Tilt has become a Headmaster).
Probably. To Trypticon, Full-Tilt is probably what Roller (and the Trailer) is to G1 Optimus Prime. Roller is literally part of Optimus Prime, and if Roller gets damaged, Optimus feels it and vice versa. I also think; at some point in the IDW continuity, Optimus' body (cab component) got destroyed, but he survived and operated through Roller until he got rebuilt. Probably Full-Tilt plays a similar role for Trypticon.
Thoughts about the toy: The bright transparent green is a nice aesthetic, but it makes the toy look... neon. I think I prefer the Hasbro version, unless the TT one has a cool extra feature that the Hasbro one doesn't. And it'd have to be a cool one!
Thoughts about the comic (even though I can't understand a word): Man! I wouldn't mind a TR Galvatron with a G1 toy-accurate deco! This is also the deco that Galvatron sported in the Marvel Comics story arc, Time Wars.

The Japanese one looks a lot more vibrant than the Hasbro one, and going of previous releases will likely have a lot more attention to detail on the paint job. That said as with previous releases the cost difference will probably deter me from the Takara one if I decide to get it.

The user seal is most probably a sticker sheet.
:p Yup that's probably what it is, better than a certificate, worse than a Brunt/Bonus Weapon, TomyMall's MP-37 Artfire used シール "Seal" to indentify its sticker sheet, why they have to confuse matters with a "User" in front of that for Dinosaurer, anyones guess.
The Japanese one looks a lot more vibrant than the Hasbro one, and going of previous releases will likely have a lot more attention to detail on the paint job.
From the images Dinosaurer seems to be identical to Trypticon, only the Dinosaurer images have had their colour saturation values increased, much like Hasbro does with many of their on-package toy pics to make them look more vibrant (especailly bad on the RiD2001/2 boxes).
I really hope the tampographs and paint work will be better on Dinosaurer over Trypticon, but so far the images are just too small, and too photoshopped, or too CGI Rendered, to tell. Especailly since the colours of Dinosaurer seem identical to those photos of Trypticon from the 2017 Australian Toy Fair.

After looking closely at Griff's Toyfair pics and Takara's PR pic I'm not sure there is any difference between the two. There are only minor differences in the shade of the plastic and that can be explained by professional lighting on the Takara pic.
There is a long way between now and September and because of PC not taking Zippay I now have a cancelable order at HLJ so if there is no difference or a tiny difference between the two I'll cancel the Takara Trypticon and get a Hasbro one. I'm guessing it will be a Toy Sale item like Devastator and Fort Max.

Now as far as size is concerned, Dinosaurer stands at 45cm in height making it the same height as G1 Scorponok. However the length of Dinosaurer's body is a whopping 65cm, making it 7cm longer than Generations Metroplex. So technically Trypticon will be bigger than Metroplex, but he simply won't be as tall because he doesn't stand fully upright.

Devastator was easy. Drop a shelf, push him to the back and wait for the wife to notice.

Thanks for the specs, I think I definitely will skip due to space in my show case.
This is however a nicer piece than fort max for me.

Heh, haven't even thought that far. :p If you have deep enough shelves it might be possible to display Trypticon in base mode and have other figures "populate" him.

In our house he would probably be a toy rather than a display.
I have some spare PC credit I want to get rid of and have been humming and hah-ing over Trypticon for a week.
I think he is a better toy for the kids with better gimmicks than the other Titans, but every time I see the size of him I back off. What cupboard could restrain him? What toy box could hold him? :D

As he bloody well should be. :) Although there's no reason why he can't be both. When I displayed my Transformers as a kid it wasn't primarily for aesthetic reasons but more for practical reasons - i.e. it was just easier to grab the specific Transformer that I wanted to play with if they're out on display rather than rummaging through a toy box.

There are a few cosmetic differences:
The opaque plastic is a more luminous green
Full-tilt is a more vibrant purple
He comes with details already on the plastic rather than stickers
But yeah, not much difference in the long run

I really need to pay off my Big W layby and pick my Hasbro one up soon

I'm still trying to find the bloody thing - I hope I didn't imagine it! Will keep looking for ya mate :)
I preordered the Tak/Tom version but then picked up the local one. But then I didn't cancel my preorder as I was worried about the hip issues and thought I might sell the Hasbro version.
Then I fixed the Hasbro version so went to cancel my Tak/Tom order and found that the toy had gone up $50AU dollars in price, but mine hadn't as this happened after my order. Knowing that I am spending a fortune but still getting him at a significant discount makes me loathe to give him up - since I got the Hasbro version at $50 off at the Big W sale means I will have saved $100 but spent $500 - don't know if Im an idiot or not :o.
Sigh... I just hope the differences do prove to be somewhat significant.

There was an image floating around showing the takara (supposedly) one with no markings, whatever the case if the stickers are simply reproduced as tampo's it's going to make him just as bland as the hasbro metroplex stickers as I've never seen metallic tampos before.
I know the stock images takara put up of trypticon confirm stickers being used on the eyes since the hasbro one has the same ones (look at the head area on the ones tf_pr posted, those are stickers).
Whatever the case, the deco is *just* about identical and he'll only be worth it for the box and legends comic (and perhaps better hips if one's so lucky)

Cheapest shipping option was around $80 AUD from memory (from JPN) Funny thing though, express shipping was about 5-10 dollars cheaper than economy so go figure  Should have him in a week or so :D

Yeah I found the same - that's pretty expensive for HLJ.
I ordered mine the day he was listed before they upped the price by 5000yen a week or two later. Wonder if they are trying to recoup their losses since they were obligated to sell those first orders at the wrong price

I thought their initial preorder price was always cheaper as I've had a few items now go up after I've po'd. Lucky for me I had some store credit so it was only 16000yen but mine will sit I'm my Pw waiting for the next lot of legends figs to drop in

Really? I don't think I have and I've been shopping with them for 6 years.
But then maybe I actually have and not noticed it. This was a 50000 yen change (at that time of currency comparison that equalled about fifty bucks AUS ) so was a significant difference. Given I often preorder things 6 months in advance its possible its happened with other orders of mine and I was just oblivious to it as the difference was not as great.

HLJ's Transformer preorders almost always have an "earlybird" price (though I'm not sure if they still call it that these days) which is a discount from their normal price. It usually lasts for a little while during the pre-order timeframe (if not for the whole duration. I usually have my preorders done within a couple of days of the listing going up - so not sure how long it lasts now. Years ago figures still available for preorder a couple months after the listing appeared would end up back to full price before release.)
As an example - the latest round of Legends preorders:
LG58 Clones - 2,800 (my preorder) - Now 3,500 (order stop)
LG59 Blitzwing - 4,400 (my preorder) - Now 5,500 (order stop)
LG60 Overlord - 6,800 (my preorder) - Now 8,500 (order stop)
So definitely makes sense to try and get those preorders in early ;)

Ask and ye shall receive (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=24704)... which goes to his blog posting here (http://www.bigangrytrev.com/lg43-trypticon-vs-titans-return-trypticon/), giving us this quote:
Now to Trypticon himself, the differences are…. they are…. um….
‘One of these Cons is not like the other one…. oh wait’
The differences are non-existent!
That’s right kiddies – there is absolutely no difference between the two versions – none! All the things you may have previously been lead to believe, such as the teal was darker and the purple richer in the Legends version are not correct. That the paint apps are built in and you don’t have to apply stickers like the Hasbro version – false. The only way I could keep the two from getting mixed up when taking photographs was that I had already applied some of the stickers to the Titans Return version. The same goes for their smaller partners.

At least it saves me getting the JP version... as the box seems to be the only thing different.
Hmmm.... I've noticed that I have bought one less Titan with each release.
4 of Metroplex - Hasbro, JP, SDCC, HKGC
3 of Devastator - Hasbro, JP, SDCC
2 of Fort Max - Hasbro, JP (missing the SDCC version, but not worth the expense)
1 of Trypticon - Hasbro (no SDCC release this time... and the JP version is identical)
I hope that doesn't mean I don't end up buying next year's Titan at all... :p

I normally only get one of each character unless I have a good reason to rebuy. For Fort Max I originally bought the Takara version, then I decided later I wanted a Cerebros to go with my Deluxe Class Headmasters so I grabbed the Hasbro version from work. I still don't know what to do with the extra Fort Max body I have now.:p
