Sorry if this is a lot of post, took a while for my account to be activated and I have a lot of questions that I am just remembering.

I am wondering what are each of your individual most favourite transformer figure of all time, as there have been so many figures through the 30+ years.

As masterpieces are no doubt expensive and better quality, if your favourite is a masterpiece or a very expensive bot can you also please tell us what your favourite non expensive (standard priced) transformer is? thanks!

Pictures are very much appreciated, would make the thread very nice to browse through.

Easily RotF Leader Starscream. Accuracy, interesting transformation, fun gimmicks (love the flip out weapons!). That retailed at the time for the average leader class price.

I have the MPM-01 redeco MIB. I bought it at the time it released. I can't remember what the RRP was at the time, though I know on the secondary market now it does fetch quite a good price. I also have the GDO/Generations (can't remember which subline) G1 repaint, though again can't remember the RRP or how much I paid for it.

A shout here for ROTF Leader Optimus Prime (and the myriad repaints thereof), but Starscream pips him to the post for favourite figure ever.

As for super duper expensive stuff, I'm a big fan of Fansproject's take on Menasor. That whole set ran close to $500 USD at the time, and while it doesn't fit in aesthetically or size wise with other combiners (3P or otherwise) it's still my favourite.

While we're talking 3P I love Planet-X Vulcun (FOC Grimlock) to bits. I think that ran me about $120 USD at release. Worth it though.

As for average priced stuff, here are a smattering of my favourites from voyager and below, in no order of preference:

Deluxe
Titans Return Triggerhappy
Titans Return Wolfwire
Prime First Edition Starscream
Prime First Edition/Generations GDO Cliffjumper
Generations Drift
Generations WFC Optimus Prime
Transformers Animated Rodimus Minor
Universe 2.0 Cyclonus
Hunt for the Decepticons Tomahawk
Classics 1.0 Mirage
Transmetals Tarantulas
RotF Sidearm Sideswipe
Movie 2007 Dropkick
Movie 2007 Longarm

Voyager (or equivalent)
Generations Springer
Revenge of the Fallen Mindwipe
Dark of the Moon Human Alliance Roadbuster
Revenge of the Fallen Human Alliance Jazz

These are the figures that more or less constantly reside in the toybox in my living room for idle fidgeting while watching movies.

This is like asking a parent who their favourite child is. Ya know, out of 2023 kids. :p
There's a link to photos of my collection in my signature panel (albeit old and out-of-date photos now :p)

It changes. Some days I like a certain Transformer more than the one I liked the previous day. Also, newer and better Transformers come out each year. Below is a list of the 5 most recurring (no particular order):

- MP-11 Starscream (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers-toys/gallery/masterpiece/starscream-mp-11/2712/1/) : Because it's the most advanced and most definitive toy of one of my all-time favourite villains.
- TR Deluxe Chromedome (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers-toys/gallery/titans-return/chromedome/4166/1/) : Latest and greatest toy of my favourite Autobot character.
(G1 Starscream and Chromedome are my favourites, character-wise)
- TF Prime Voyager War Breakdown (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers-toys/gallery/arms-micron/war-breakdown/3564/1/) : Fun and interesting transformation and design. Has a cool and unique accessory (a hammer that becomes a rhino (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers-toys/gallery/arms-micron/zamu/3561/1/)).
- G1 Soundwave (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers-toys/gallery/super-robot-life/soundwave/21/1/) + Cassettes : A classic Transformer with so much play value.
- G1 Fort Max (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers-toys/gallery/g1-1987/fortress-maximus/2119/1/) : Loved the character since I was a kid. A fun play-set with loads of play-value.

Honourable mention:
- Legion G2 Megatron (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers-toys/gallery/classics-universe/megatron-g2/1665/1/) : Small, and cheap, but durable and fun version of an iconic villian. I feel I can transform it to my heart's content without fear of breaking it.

I am not sure if I should post, but my fav would have to be Sideways (Armada).

He combines elements of Headmaster and has a really awesome color scheme that is very beautiful to hold in rl.

And his character is just so cool!

We have a top three figures thread, (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=13423) but it hasn't had new posts for a while. I gave my answers here. (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=472128&postcount=138)

Since Sharky already nominated the RotF leader Starscream mould, for the sake of variety, I'll say APS-01U Optimus Prime is my favourite:

Heh, forgot about that thread. :p My response was here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=297522&postcount=54) which was completely randomly selected. ;)

Probably my special edition Sonic Convoy. But since you asked for normal retail as well, I'd have to say CW Megatron.

I'm sorry but its the teacher within me, you didn't need to say 'most' in your thread title, its a redundancy. Sorry for being a pedantic bastard :o

I dunno, maybe the MP Prime that comes with a trailer

The other "top 3" topic is very old, started 5 years ago, and has been dormant for 2 years... so we can always have new ones started if enough time has passed, as people's "bests" can often change during that amount of time, and new topics generate a lot more discussion than a resurrected old topic.

Nostalgia says G1 Seaspray (my first) and G1 Breakdown (my dream car). As an adult, G1 Fortress Maximus. It is just a really fun base to transform and display other bots on.

Heh, this was my favourite toy for 2007 too. ;)

+2006: Classics Bumblebee
+2007: Leader Class Optimus Prime
+2008: Henkei! Sunstreaker

I would personally rate 3 toys as being the greatest Optimus toys of all time (discounting lines made for adult collectors like BT/ALT, MP etc. - I'm talking about regular mainstream toys that were made for kids):

* Original G1 Optimus Prime; 1984-85 - this toy was phenomenal by G1 standards. It was huge (biggest TF in 1984), looked great and wasn't just a transforming robot but a mobile headquarters for the Autobots. Optimus Prime was also a play set!

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/goktimusprime/Transformers/comparisons/Classicsverse/comparison_chugurg1_optimusprime.jpg

* G2 Laser Optimus Prime (1995) - while 1994's Hero Optimus Prime was the first to feature a fully articulated robot mode, I felt that it didn't hold up as well as Hero Megatron (awesome figure!), but 1995's Laser Optimus Prime just took things to whole 'nuther level. Great sculpt and an incredible design. The laser rod gimmick was just amazing - here we had what was essentially Optimus Prime with a freakin' laser sword^light sabre! I don't know about the rest of you, but I was making light sabre noises. :D Plus the headlights also light up in truck mode. And if that's not enough, the trailer transforms into a battle station with all manner of neat gimmicks like missile and disc launchers.
Alt mode: Western Star 4964EX (http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/uploads/images/1a4080c9-6086-446a-bcb4-1370.jpg)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/goktimusprime/Transformers/comparisons/Classicsverse/comparison_chugurg2_optimus2.jpg

* Optimus Prime (2007, Leader) - an absolutely incredible toy, 2007's Leader Optimus Prime made much better use of being a long-nose cab. Laser Optimus Prime's "long nose" section basically become two massive shoulder pads (so much for peripheral vision :p) and having the legs become the back section makes it chunkier than it should be on a real truck (something which even MP1 and MP10 also have). This toy had the legs tucked inside the front section with the arms forming the sleeper, and the rear section cleverly tuck in to become fairly discreet rear-mounted kibble (unlike the unsightly backpack on AoE Optimus Prime ). Incredibly detailed sculpt with an amazingly vehicle-accurate alt mode - and a light and sound gimmick to boot! This toy also features a self-contained weapon. While it may not be as screen accurate as RotF Leader Optimus Prime, 07 Movie Prime has a much more fun and intuitive transformation. The only other Movie Leader Prime to rival this toy would be DotM Jetwing Optimus Prime, but it was really the 07 Leader Optimus Prime who set the standard.

P.S.: Just as a writing tip, you didn't need to put the word "most" before 'favourite,' as the word 'favourite' is already a superlative (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_(grammar)) (i.e. you can't go above it ;))
"You will give 110%."
"That's impossible. No one can give more than 100%. By definition that is the most anyone can give."
- The Simpsons (Homer at the Bat (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homer_at_the_Bat))
