There's always been a rumours and reports of a re-release of the MF, but I'm getting more optimistic this will happen.

http://geekculture.co/new-lego-star-wars-ucs-millennium-falcon-75192-to-launch-from-oct-2017/

Post any news, updates as you find them. And maybe start saving now

Oh. Hell. Yes.

I'm so glad I was patient and didn't start brickbuilding one of these. I just told my wife that she and my mum can get it for my Christmas present :D

I need a new house now. My Lego collection is getting quite formidable

This is great news, I have been so close to blowing a lot of money but once TFA came out I thought best to hold off, one might be on the way.
Fingers crossed that have a window for the cockpit.

I think that's Euros not Pounds. It's at least a little better conversion rate but still bloody expensive :(

Pretty awesome if it has all the extras, really makes it like MP TF's with all the different Accs they come with now. Has a mynock ever been releases in Lego?

philby
13th June 2017, 08:51 AM
No i think this will be the first lego mynock they were saying. It also would be a better built model with interior. I don't have the first UCS one but I believe it is kinda like my UCS star destroyer in that you basically have a technic frame and structure on the inside and no proper detail or play features. This will be more similar to the recent force awakens Falcon where you can open it up and it has a proper interior with details and features.

Somebody else I know apparently can't say anything at all due to an NDA. when I replied with basically "aha! that proves it exists otherwise you wouldn't need to sign anything" they said "what if the nda covers all ucs in general or another one in particular". very resistant to interrogation lol

I think the days of no internal structure like the UCS Star Destroyer and AT-ST are gone, which is a good thing imho. The SSD has some nice internals, but yeah, I couldn't believe the AT-ST when I got it a couple of years ago, the thing is, there is space in there for a couple of seats, drivers, controls etc. I have the Falcon from about five years ago and that is a great little set when opened up, so there is no reason they can't do that with a UCS Falcon. Price is gonna be killer though.

Here's the old UCS Falson being handled by Harrison Ford. :D

What would be your price limit on a re-release? I could stomach anything from $600 - $800 but reaching towards $1000 would be hard to justify.

philby
13th June 2017, 01:11 PM
I don't really know to be honest. I have a feeling really the price won't bother me, I would be likely getting it regardless. I've been thinking about getting 2 even, with the 2nd one staying in the box as an 'investment'.

It's a good question. 10179 rrp in AU was $979.99 but was only $499 in the US. So maybe $800?

I'm not very good at guessing prices.

Lego is not from the Coles camp of "down, down, prices are down!" :p

It'll be a ridiculous mark up price, with the Australia tax added on afterwards like the latest Death Star set that jumped $100 for not many new or improved pieces.

However the Saturn V set is quite well priced. The exchange rate plays a part in the AU price and it would have been pretty poor when the original was released.

I'm thinking in the $900's, a Lego over $1000 in Oz retail might not seem sane to the shops who will stock it.

SuspectimusPrime
17th June 2017, 12:57 PM
Leaning on $1k going by piece count. The rereleased Death Star is still $800 at Myer and Lego Shop, and $600 at BigW. The previous MF has 20% more pieces than the Death Star. The rumoured extras will add a couple 100 more pieces - I'm hoping that adding 1-200 to 5174 pieces doesn't substantially change the price.

I reckon BigW should be able to do a RRP of $750-800?

Most of those have at least a 10K piece count and cost the makers well over $1300 just in pieces. This is only $300 more than the original and has about 50% more pieces. That's pretty good.

3rd October 2017, 06:45 PM
So on Sunday morning I went down to Chadstone to queue up for their release. The Legoland Discovery Centre had 45 sets available. I got there a bit after 5am and there was a smallish handful of people hanging around one of the doors and it slowly built up. Around 5:45 I think a security guard came over and opened the door to tell us that they will open up at 7am, nobody is to hang around in front of the door and block it up, we need to move over and sit down somewhere and if they see anyone who had snuck in somehow they would be removed. He seemed a bit grumpy haha. This was only at one entrance, there would have been people at 2 or 3 other entrances nearby also.

Just after 6 one guy turns up with a chair and a little portable trolley. He walks past everyone and starts waving at the door to see if it will open. People start talking about what the security guard said but he basically ignored it all and plonked his chair down in the middle right in front of the door. This triggered a bit of a panic surge I think and everyone just crowded in. I decided to skip it and go home after that! Even after the doors to the centre open at 7am the actual shop wasn't opening until 8:30. I figured I couldn't be bothered now risking the other 2.5 hours plus race up the stairs to not get anything and left. So I came away empty handed but I am (mostly lol) ok with that as I know it isn't a super limited release and these are just early woes after the online launch.

To top it off of course a bunch of these sets from that morning went up on gumtree and ebay for inflated prices straight away. We know this because they included the tickets the shop handed out for the people in the line

Trent
3rd October 2017, 08:29 PM
I can't blame you. If I had to line up I'd never have bothered. I was lucky in that I was at work, in front of my computer when it went up so I ordered then went home.

I know why they included the trolley now. I weighed the box and it came in at 15kgs

I am having a nasty feeling about ordering this.

I ordered on the 11th of Dec and it apparently arrived in Australia on the 26th of Dec. It has been stuck with customs ever since.

I have a bad feeling as it is over $1k, they are going to sting me for import duties. I dare anyone to actually find any usable information on the Customs website but I think it may be a 5% tariff on top of the purchase price. If it is on top of the overseas fees for my CC, it is basically another 9.5% on top of the purchase price. Best to try and source it locally if that ends up being the case.

There was a bit of info on this in one of the Lego FB pages. No one confirmed about paying additional import taxes but some did say they were in a similar situation and it was due to it being delivered by a different carrier called DAI Post. Might take longer to clear in his case but some have been able to get it released faster by calling DAI.

Stuff ordered from S@H is notorious for vanishing for weeks on end during shipping. The lead theory is that it sits at Lego's warehouse in Alexandria. It usually goes AWOL for about 3 weeks. Given the holiday period, I would expect that to go up to 4-5 weeks.

I wouldn't be worried if I were you. My Falcon didn't show any tracking movement for 3 weeks, then showed up at my door. I recently used the VIP points I got from the Falcon purchase to buy a Christmas present for my son. I ordered mid November, no tracking updates and then it got delivered Wednesday before Christmas.

And no, I didn't get charged any customs duties on my Falcon. S@H is an Australian online store. Lego pay all import duties.

Good price, missed out :(

I added one to my cart yesterday and it was $5.95 shipping. But they also had some weird ‘disclaimer’ bit at the bottom of the page saying something about a $50 charge from customs and that you may be charged import fees. Can’t remember the exact wording now as the page is gone.

Chrisco also have them at $30.95 a week for 42 weeks.

How does this work? You get it after 42 weeks? How much is shipping?

Not too sure as I’ve never used them but think it’s free shipping. You pay the regular retail price but divided over 42 weeks.

I assume it is the same as the hampers. You pay the installments through the year and they send you the hamper in time for Christmas. Obviously they have branched out in to presents as well.

I have seen reports on FB that it has been re-stocked at the LDC in Chadstone, the Lego online store and also seen at an un-specified Myer.

Mine finally cleared customs on Sunday and was delivered today.

The box looks like it has been rodgered by an elephant. On top of that it appears he rodgered it to completion.

All three boxes are damaged to varying levels of unacceptable. It looked like result of a Russian nesting doll demolition derby.

I have written to their support people. I will not be accepting anything but a complete replacement. I haven't opened the factory seal tape on the product box just in case.

I hope this link works but if anyone is interested and can test out my OneDrive sharing skills, here is a link to the pictures I took. Let me know if you can get to them OK.

Your link works fine. Looks like some weather damage to boot. Funny how LEGO can do just about everything right, bar post things. Two tiny air bubble packets for a box that big??? Sadly it seems to be the norm, every time I’ve used shopathome from LEGO the boxes I’ve received have looked like garbage and is one of the reasons I have limited my ordering from them (plus their ridiculous prices).

Every time I have complained all I have gotten in response is “sorry but the delivery companies are responsible for the damage that may occur in transit, please contact them for any inquiries”. All you’ll get from them is “tough luck, we don’t care”.

It might be the international part of the delivery, as every order I’ve made at shopforme or other online retailers based in Australia have never had anywhere near the crushing damage the orders from the actual LEGO store have had.

Goodluck, since you’ve bought a collectors set you may get more help or assistance but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

rodgered by an elephant

That is terrible. Looks like it had been sitting out in the rain somewhere. I’m one to not care about boxes but on a $1300 set, I’d want it pristine. This is why I have mine on preorder from a Toyworld store to not risk freight damage.
I’m guessing Lego will want you to return it before sending out a replacement. Make sure they see those photos.:(

I hate myself enough to go and get one of these but if I regret purchasing it (and i wouldnt be building it anytime soon) I could easily flip it for what I paid for it right?

Most likely as they’re still hard to find, but no one is going to stump up on postage so it would probably be a local purchase with a meetup.

So after two and a half days with no reply, I managed to get one of their customer support people on the chat. They claimed they never got my email which is weird because it was replied to a day or so after I had the chat.

They are sending me a replacement and a shipping label to send back the original. I have to find a new box for the original to go in for me to ship it back.

It will take the 9 to 18 days again. Let's hope it doesn't sit in customs for two weeks again.

Spoke to a girl at Myer today, she said it was likely only the 'flagship stores' would get the MF, which we interpreted to be the ones in the city.

Yep, pretty much means the Myer stores we actually make money at...which mainly are cbd stores...

For those in Brisbane, the Mr Toys group of Toyworlds now have the Millenium Falcon in stock (for the recommended $1299 price tag (https://www.mrtoys.com.au/action-figures-collectable/star-wars-toys/millennium-falcon/lego-star-wars-millennium-falcon-75192-25141.html)), and I saw one today at the Macgregor store.

Took me about 3 months to finish at a slow pace. It was a bit of a father-son project with my dad and I ended up getting him back into Lego :D

I’m now planning on building a display coffee table for it. Done some research on materials and structure. Now to actually make a start.

Yeah I saw that, the Sammanhang coffee table. Enclosed display is a must for me unfortunately, I have a cat who sheds like its going out of fashion and if I don’t enclose it, it will look like Chewbacca moulted all over it.

I finally had the coffee table done to display my UCS Falcon. Acrylic cover with Australian oak base. Professionally made, all up it cost about $1100. Pricey, but well worth it as a centrepiece in the living room.

And if the hit to the wallet wasn?t enough, a re-issue of the UCS Star Destroyer has been rumoured and is looking very likely: https://twitter.com/LEGO_Group/status/1167074596010565635?s=20

Urm, mine is IR Remote, I have even include the falcon's take off sound clip whenever the LED is turned on.
There are even options now that allow you to control LED lights from your phone via bluetooth.

Is funny, I felt this was the most pleasing toy I had, I think is more to do with accomplishment and is just satisfying.
