it is. but seeing as though the newer mp's are going cartoon accurate, makes sense to release his brother around the same time in cartoon paint apps. i doubt they'd redesign the existing MP12 figure though.

He wouldn't be priced at 8500 vs sunstreaker' 12000 with those upgrades. Different moulds too

Only own the G2 version of this mold so I'll welcome a chance to get the original. Of course I don't have half as many MPs as I'd like so what actually happens is another thing.

Although if the + line isn't dead, where is Wheeljack at? Sure a lot of people would kill for an MP36 - too.

What would you do different to make Sideswipe more cartoon accurate? Unlike Red Alert he's already fairly cartoon accurate.

Anyway I'm more interested in those LG figures, except for Six Shot since I got the Hasbro version since I'm not too worried about cartoon accuracy for him cause he got about six seconds of on-screen time. Also not worried about Doublecross cause he never was in The Rebirth.

Mp14+ fits very nicely with mp inferno when using his white grill and nozzle

I personally disliked MP14+, I thought the original was better. I am curious to see how they make MP12 more toon accurate without making physical changes.

I've said before that my vision of the MP line has been a combination of real world alt mode detail with cartoon accurate bot modes. As such the + line and cartoon appearance accessories has never appealed to me.
My only dilemma would be a MP11+ Starscream as the current grey version is so bleh.

I figured a MP+ Wheeljack with a simplified, screen-accurate colour scheme would be a thing as soon as MP14+ was announced. I'm surprised it hasn't been announced yet.

Megatron's colour scheme is already pretty screen-accurate, and the figure even uses the cartoon version of the Decepticon emblem with three central spikes instead of the traditional version with two central spikes. A MP+ version doesn't seem necessary.

MP-11's colour scheme is pretty screen-accurate. I don't see how you could improve the colour scheme and make it 'more screen-accurate'. TakaraTOMY could paint the figure grey instead of having unpainted plastic, but that wouldn't really improve the colour.

That could be Bumblebee, done in a pale cartoon yellow... since those two were the first two characters seen in the cartoon universe on the first episode.

I agree, Wheeljack's toon markings differ quite a bit from the actual car he's based on , Wheeljack is one that feels like a matter for time for this silly new toon obsession MP's are going down.

Who knows, maybe they will make MP Perceptor and re-do Wheeljack's colours then for your Autobot science and engineering team.

I personally like my current MP Wheeljack. Simplifying it for slavish cartoon accuracy doesn't appeal to me at all. But anyway, here's a comparison between Wheeljack's cartoon model vs MP figure.

I suspect that licensing issues might prevent that from happening. I personally prefer realistic looking vehicles as they look more like robots in disguise (http://starmoz.com/images/porsche-924-turbo-17.jpg). :)

A Penny Racer design should be unlicenced just like the original G1 toys so no issue with licence there.

EDIT: On further inspection while most Penny Racers are unlicensed there are a few that are licenced including VW's by Tomy. So unless transforming Penny Racers are a specific issue (which they always could be) it should be fine.

It's certainly less different than MP (Red) Alert's anime edition. The red may be slightly different, but the only colour changes are the silver parts changed to white (shoulders, gun, feet, shins), and the elbow joints.
I had very very very little interest in getting Anime Alert... there is even less interest in getting this one.

I agree about mp14+ he does look good on a shelf amongst the later released figures that have gone for an even greater toon accuracy look.

Well tbh I've always lamented not being able to show off both modes of the MP cars as I believe the alt modes are just as deserving. At least a slow trickle of any MP+ toys allows me that luxury while being able to cope with the extra outlay :p

And here's a Translation of MP-12+ Tomy Mall entry - Probably not the right place to post it, but I haven't found the MP-12+ thread yet and it does reference Sunstreaker.

Of note is that, apart from being a recolour, this version of MP Sideswipe has an extra moulding detail none of the others did. A simple hole in the strut the connects its windows/roof to the rest of the body, that now allows it to be mounted on the "Transformers Specific" posing stand (the one that has a clear version sold separately or included with Tracks in black & Loud Pedal in transparent-purple. Its a shame that he still doesn't get his Jet-Pack and that neither he nor Sunstreaker also come with the parachute they (and earlier Mirage) use.
