It was revealed a few months ago that Boulder Media Studios in Ireland was taking on Hasbro properties to produce cartoons for them, and now we know that they are going to be doing two Transformers cartoons (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/06/07/rescue-bots-academy-another-new-transformers-show-coming-soon-341056) - Rescue Bots Academy (which would be the next season of the Rescue Bots cartoon), and an as yet unnamed Transformers cartoon which is likely to be the next season or series after season 3 of RID.

It's good news for Rescue Bots fans who thought that the series had wrapped up at the end of Season 4 last year.

As much as many traditionalist fans may not like it Rescue Bots definitely has a place in the universe and really is a great way to pull young kids into the world of Transformers since the characters, the figures and the cartoons can grow with them... unlike other characters such as Peppa Pig, Dora, etc and even Thomas, who kids tend to grow out of very quickly.

My son loves Transformers (especially the G1 TV show) but every now and then, even at the age of 10, he'll put one or two of the Rescue Bots episodes on as a bit of light-hearted simplicity. It's one of the few shows he's always laughing out loud to.

I think it is great they can grow the preschool line and the fact they are still invested in it must mean it is making money either directly or in throughflow as kids get older so one can only assume it is working to strengthen the franchise.

And with links to rid cartoon, they have a pathway to the next age group orientated cartoon. In turn, transformers prime is referenced so it is actually a really good pathway into transformers for the youngsters.

The Hasbro owned Boulder Media (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/07/30/boulder-media-opens-theatrical-film-division-transformers-movie-made-345856), is now looking to produce a Animated movies, and with one of the proposed Movie Universe ideas being said to be animated, maybe Boulder Media will be the one to do it.
Their first movie is about to begin production, but it isn't yet known what property/brand it is for (with the current focus on movie 6 & 7, it isn't likely to be for Transformers).

The other cartoon series has been identified (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/08/09/adam-beechen-fan-qanda-transformers-cyberverse-robots-disguise-346634), and it will be a new chapter to follow on from RID (which itself followed on from TFPrime).
The new series will be called "Cyberverse", and Adam Beechen (showrunner for RID) has given us some brief details on the ending of RID, and that he isn't working on Cyberverse.

Question: Are you working on the new cartoon [Transformers: Cyberverse] by any chance?

Adam Beechen: I’m not working on the new series. Just like RID was a change from Prime, I think Hasbro wanted to try something new and wanted new voices for it.

Question: Based on previous finales they all seemed to wrap up the show pretty well, without giving out what happens in Combiner Force, can you say it’ll wrap up the series fairly well?

Adam Beechen: Do you really think I’m going to say, “No, it’s a terrible ending?” Of course we think it’ll wrap up the series well!

Question: I just hope the end of RID wraps up all dangling plots (Soundwave, Stunticons, Steeljaw’s Pack and The Council).

Adam Beechen: I think it wraps up everything that’s important, but ultimately, how good a job it does will be up to the viewers.”

“Why is the show called Robots In Disguise when there was an old show with the same name?”

“When I came aboard, there were a number of possible titles for the series (I won’t tell you what they were) and the one Hasbro settled on was RID. The creative team didn’t have input into their decision. I thought it was strange, too, given the earlier show of the same name, and the fact that our show wasn’t particularly going to be about our characters spending much time in disguise. But they chose what they chose, and certainly, when people think Transformers, many of them think of the classic phrase, “Robots In Disguise,” so maybe that worked a little in our favor and attracted some viewers. I don’t know.”

Another tidbit about the new Transformers cartoon by Boulder Media (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/09/13/boulder-media-comments-working-transformers-franchise-348941), from it founder at a recent animation convention...

“We get free toys which is great. When [Hasbro] approached, they were looking for a studio that could bring great taste and flair to the projects. They basically gave the keys to the world of Transformers. ‘What would you do for the Transformers? How would you reboot Transformers?’ Which is amazing really. It’s like every geek’s fantasy. I could play around Optimus Prime”.

Some more details about the new cartoon (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/first-look-at-transformers-cyberverse-animated-cartoon/39816/) to replace RID, which will be called Cyberverse.
It sounds like Bumblebee has lost his memories this time (after just regaining his lost voice), and this cartoon appears to focus on recovering those memories, in order to save his friends and Earth.

Cyberverse will star Bumblebee and his best friend Windblade, but the storyline will feature other popular Transformers as well. As you can see in the first image from the show, the art style and overall design is much more of a Generation 1 throwback than its predecessor Robots in Disguise, but this show carries over the Bumblebee focus.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Transformers show without Decepticons, and they will be returning in force for Transformers: Cyberverse.

"As each memory is repaired, another clue comes to light that will lead them both to complete their shared mission to save their friends and Earth… however, the Decepticons are hot on their heels and time is running out.

Cant say I like the art style in the promo, Windblade is ugly, Bee looks 5, and unless they mean alt modes I dont see how it will be a G1 throwback in regards to artwork.
Remember when Transformers involved two warring factions instead of centering everything around Bumblebee?
I mean ok he's become a competent leader of sorts in RiD but still. Also I think the writers have been watching a bit too much anime lately, that plotline is straight out of one lol

I'll still check it out though, just some first thoughts

That's just development artwork, remember it will have some changes once the series begins to air. Also the cast as of this moment is 3 bots (and assume Starscream and Megatron) so the evergreen figures are probably to fill out the waves along with endless repaints, retools and the odd new figure

Not being much of an RID fan I'm happy for them to move on. However like many I'm suffering from Bbee burnout - don't need to see another cartoon with him as the main character, but given he is getting his own movie next year I'm guessing it's to be expected.

Personally I'd like to see Hot Rod take the reins as the main protagonist (though I'm thinking more IDW than TLK).

Rescue Bots is great for young kids and a half decent cartoon. Good to hear it's gonna keep truckin'

Its funny, I'm sick of bbee getting the spot light all the time, yet when its optimus no one complains other than those who spot out petter cullen at it again.

No one talks smack about primal, maybe we just need "new" characters, or ones with throw back names rather than "here is the latest incarnation of a character your parents grew up with!"

And then there is rodimus crying in the corner almost forgotten

Puts hand up

I'm sick of Optimus and Megatron each series but every time Hasbro has had the chance to move on they don't (And I get why it's just boringly repetitive)

In terms of cartoons, Optimus is indeed in everything, but Megatron has been absent a couple times, either entirely (RID) or just showing up as a guest star (Animated and TFPrime)... and it's impossible to say if taking a break from certain iconic characters ends up being a good thing (Animated is one of the most popular series), or a bad thing (both TFPrime and RID struggled to maintain a loyal following).
And in terms of the pre-IDW comics (since I haven't been following IDW's universe), the original Marvel US comics didn't actually have Optimus and Megatron in many of their 80 issues... it was up to the UK comics to feature the two iconic leaders more prominently in stories.
I think that well known incident with the 1986 movie, that saw a huge backlash when they killed off Optimus Prime (and other main characters), the people at Hasbro probably decided that it was a rule to never permanently remove most of their main iconic characters from a series or toyline. I guess if you took a poll on who is the one favourite character of each of us fans and kids, Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee would be top three (or in the top five), and if Hasbro don't include them, they are likely to lose those fans entirely for that series if their favourite isn't there to follow, or play along with.

Looks like the new Rescue Bots cartoon is being brought forward from next year (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/03/21/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-premiere-fall-discovery-family-361088), to later this year (about springtime for us here).

Transformers Rescue Bots Academy – which Sondon describes as “the same concept as Transformers Rescue Bots but more skewed to a preschool audience” – is slated to bow in the fall.” The new series will feature Hot Shot, Whirl, Medix, Hoist and Wedge embarking on a new adventure as the students from Earth’s first Rescue Bot Training Academy. Produced by Hasbro owned Boulder Media Limited, the first season of this new series will contain 52 episodes with a running time of 11-minutes each.

The first trailer/commercial for the new Rescue Bots cartoon has now been released on a comic book website (http://comicbook.com/tv-shows/2018/04/07/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-trailer-new-series/), showing us the new team, and some returning characters (including Optimus, who has a new voice actor).

I hope they will still have cameos of the other previous Rescue Bots characters, so that they it doesn't just look like they no longer exist.

Trailer looks good! Is it me, or are they going just a tad more sophisticated with the artwork and animation?

Hoping this gets to Netflix.

The new Cyberverse cartoon could be out by the end of this month, as it could end up being released in France some time between July 24th and August 6th (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/07/01/gulli-france-to-air-transformers-cyberverse-animated-series-366431).
It isn't scheduled for an American release until September... and probably later than that for Australia.

Looking at the images for these Cyberverse characters the only one I look at and go "god NO!" is Wheeljack. Not because he's in the show but his face... looks so, so wrong! Is it just me?

I'm willing to give any new show a chance, although I'm really sick of Bumblebee being the focus and Ironhide STILL missing from the lineup.
For me, it will come down to how well the cartoon executes and how good the voice acting is.

The Cyberverse cartoon has been confirmed for screening in America on Cartoon Network (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/07/23/transformers-cyberverse-to-air-on-cartoon-network-368782), this spring (our time... which is sometime from September to November).

The new Rescue Bots cartoon has an advance screening in America this weekend (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/12/05/saturdays-transformers-rescue-bots-academy-preview-promotional-clip-378273) (today), and a 30 second preview clip was posted on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/DiscFamily/videos/1715836248520235/).
There looks to be some carry over characters from the old Rescue Bots series, but they might just end up being cameos like Optimus and Bumblebee in the old series.

After the advance screening in America last weekend, it was announced (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/12/12/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-series-premiering-january-5-2019-378772) that the cartoon will start screening from January 5th on American TV.

School is in session in the world of TRANSFORMERS: RESCUE BOTS ACADEMY and instructors Heatwave the Fire-Bot, Chase the Police-Bot, Blades the Copter-Bot, and Boulder the Construction-Bot are ready to train a new batch of recruits. Just arriving on Earth from their home world of Cybertron, young Hot Shot, Hoist, Whirl, Wedge and Medix have the honor of being the first class in history to enroll in the Rescue Bots Academy, a highly advanced training facility located at a top-secret base. With encouragement from Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Grimlock, the new recruits learn the power of team building through exciting simulated and real-life rescue missions that highlight the importance of heroism, teamwork, and most importantly, friendship.

No source was credited, but TFW are saying that (https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/02/09/transformers-cyberverse-season-2-release-information-382408) the second season of Cyberverse won't be on TV/Youtube until the fourth quarter of this (probably the same months as the first season), and the Rescue Bots Academy cartoon that has already started screening in America, won't be released into other countries until the middle of this year.

We still haven't had the new Rescue Bots cartoon in Australia yet, but it sounds like the entire first season of 26 episodes has come and gone in America, to the point of it having a repeat screening over there in September (https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/08/30/transformers-rescue-bots-academy-season-1-returns-to-discovery-family-channel-in-september-395803).... at the same time as the second season beginning over there (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/List_of_Rescue_Bots_Academy_episodes).

Yes. I... obtained the first season a few months ago for my son. More kiddy than the previous show but more.. loud and fast paced.
