Not exactly 'a work of art' but here are the Dinobots.

I photoshopped away the DW background and displeased with their red eyes (http://heroicdecepticon.blogspot.com/2007/10/blue-eyed-autobots-and-red-eyed.html) edited them to blue and also edited Slag's upper legs to white- all for cartoon accuracy. I placed the three 'SOS Dinobots' dinos in the foreground while the 'War of the Dinobots' dinos I placed in the background.

Speaking of great articles like this... what is happening with your blog? Hiatus?

To be fair, the blue-eye Autobot and red-eye Decepticon thing ONLY ever happened in the cartoon and NEVER in the comics (and remember that the G1 comics came first and long outlasted the cartoon). Also, there's this thing called toy-accuracy too (the toys came before everything!) and the Dinobot toys have red eyes. Now if you happen to prefer the cartoon look, that's fine - but I wouldn't criticise comic artists for not sharing the same preference. BEA/RED has never been established canon for TF comics. I personally prefer the Dinobots with red eyes myself. I also greatly prefer the comic Dinobots over the cartoon Dinobots but I'll stop myself here. :p

P.S.: Swindle had purple eyes in the G1 cartoon too (see here (http://www.tfu.info/1986/Decepticon/Swindle/swindle.htm)). :) There were several notable exceptions to the BEA/RED trend in the G1 cartoon.
