According to TFW2005, some company called ToyLoonatic has just put up pre-orders. Price RM360 and expected Jan/Feb 2018.

They don't have any actual product images though, just a CGI render.

Hmm wonder if this RM360 is what the preorder rate is for mpm05 as this puts it at about AUD110 in conversion.

I think the rumour of Barricade as MPM05 has popped up before, so this could be legit, then again I'd still take it with a grain of salt.

Jan/Feb seems way too early for a release date for a Masterpiece figure. It's usually about six months after pre-orders open - which usually follows about six months of promotion.

Supposedly TRU America has a street date of March 2018 for MPM Barricade, so Jan/Feb could be about right for other retailers.

Some people are claiming that this is the Movie Masterpiece Barricade toy (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/10/18/new-image-mpm-5-barricade-surfaces-352234)... so I guess we just wait and see if it is.

It certainly has all the qualities of one. This does look good.

I've been waiting a while since the rumours began. Looking foward to this and I will be posing him with my Masterpiece Bumblebee :)

I realise and appreciate Barricade didn't lose his eyes until DOTM, but I reckon it would be cool if they include an alternate head with smashed eyes.

This movie masterpiece line is killing it! I love how even their physical transformation is reminiscent of the movie transformations, where they look like a jumbled mish mash of machine parts exploding out and coming together to form their bot mode.

Eeewww... what is with that face?
And the random blue bits... its almost like they are trying to homage the first Barricade with the fifth movie Barricade (who seems to be like the Doctor, regenerating several times and looking different each time).

These images seemed to be rushed out with no fanfare... almost as if the Chinese leaks are getting to Hasbro, and they didn't want this one leaked first. Although, the leaks are often blurred or cut up, which probably would have made this one look a bit better than this full reveal. :p

Agree, with that head and those blue highlights, I am really not interested and will stick with my HA Barricade (who I'm hoping is in scale with MPM4/5, need to check that!)

I'm going to reserve judgment until more images are released.

It's not the first time that Hasbro has posed a figure in such a way that doesn't do it justice.

It may not be a final yet. Hopefully the end product looks much better.

Maybe they should get Griffin to do all of their posing work. (TFs only of course)

I could be wrong, but if memory serves correctly in TF1 you never actually see Barricade in natural daylight therefore depiction of the blue highlights may never be apparent. The scene in which he interrogates Sam is at dusk and in shadow cast by the bridge overhead. The scene in which Bumblebee and Barricade face off is in limited light at night.

With all of that said in DOTM you do get to see Barricade in natural light when the snipers take his eyes out, and I recall no blue highlights in those scenes.

I actually personally think his head looks right, I feel the issue is it's position on his shoulders, its possible it has simply been incorrectly posed / transformed???

UltraMarginal

Every chance he's been posed poorly and mistransformed.

I don't mind the colours, or the shape, the toy is apparently directly based off the CAD files from the film model so chances are if the shape isn't appealing, nor was the original on screen representation. I think that all of the toys we've had of barricade so far haven't been particularly screen accurate. So we've become used to a more 'normal' humanoid shape in our expectations of what the character looks like.

I just think the silver on the face should be gun metal, eye catching but not excessively.

Dunno if I should wait on takara or hasbro this time, takara's bumblebee was fine but takara's optimus leaves alot to be desired (apart from paint apps).

Wonder how long before a starscream or megatron comes?

Images of the box (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/11/23/transformers-movie-masterpiece-barricade-packaging-images-354036) (front and back) have leaked.

The white face just doesn't look right to me... it's looks like tribal face paint, or one of those opera singers with white makeup all over their face. I was looking up images of the actual movie face of Barricade, and it was actually a silver/steel colour... so I wonder why they couldn't paint it silver, or a slightly lighter black.

Even if there were white details on the face, its applied way too thick. I’m kinda torn on this one.

Really gun metal would be more effective, eye catching but not eye gouging.

Apparently MP Barricade is now out in Asia (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/01/27/masterpiece-mpm-05-barricade-hand-images-357325), with it just being found and bought in Taiwan.

I'll have to see if we are getting this in Australia, and if it will end up being a Zing exclusive again.

I honestly can't see anything, and after takara's mpm04 debacle I'm happy with the hasbro barricade, only reason to get the takara one now would be so the boxes and manuals match.

Anyone with a sharper eye?

Packaging for the Japanese version of Barricade has been revealed (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/04/18/takara-tomy-masterpiece-mpm-05-barricade-box-images-362544), with very little different to the Hasbro version. (it gets released this month in Japan)
We still don't know if there are any differences to the actual toy to the Hasbro version.

Oddly though, the Hasbro box has the TakaraTomy logo on it (as part of their closer partnership), but the Japanese box doesn't have the Hasbro logo on it.

We don't know if MP Barricade will be coming here, as the first two had a very limited release here (and Optimus was harder to find than Bumblebee)... but it was found in Asia in February, and in North America in the last week.

From what I can tell in the discussion topic on TFW (in the post above), the Japanese version of the toy looks to be identical to the Hasbro version. It seems that the only difference is the box.
Unless someone has seen something noted elsewhere of a minor difference between them.

Okay... I might as well just get the Japanese version then, as it looks to be the easiest to acquire at the moment, and I need to bulk up my HLJ order to make it worth shipping before my 60 days runs out.
