The NYCC is now on in America and the Hasbro team have been showing off a lot more upcoming items for Transformers... and releasing official images as well.
On top of this, another exclusive toy was revealed - Grotusque (remould Doublecross) with diecast Scorponok head.

From TFW (http://news.tfw2005.com/conventions/) - Seibertron (https://www.seibertron.com/news/index.php?f_cat=7&) - BWTF (http://www.bwtf.com/)....

The Hasbro panel transcript (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/nycc-2017-summary-and-images-of-hasbro-transformers-panel-nycc17/39739/) (copied below) and images (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/10/05/new-york-comic-con-2017-coverage-hasbro-transformers-panel-screenshots-351297) - plus a copy of the live video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6Nb6VyDpGw).

First they look at the Allspark tech figures. They are aware that these toys can currently be found at retail but they wanted to give a tech demo.

They then showed two boxes of Trypticon Titan Master Crunch.

John Warden then reveals Titans Return Grotusque, the second monster bot, which was available on Hasbro Toy Shop and is now sold out. The design of the Titan Master's head is that of a sabretooth tiger. He is said to have extra deco to go with the fact that it's a special edition toy. The artwork for Grotusque is by Marcello Matere.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Is is then said that the quantity on Hasbro Toy Shop is limited but that in a month or so additional sets will be available through partner retailers.

Hasbro then reiterates when speaking about Ttans Return Arcee, how much Toysrus is a great partner.

John Warden then shows a finished Volcanicus combined. This is the first time we see the combined mode in colour. Once again, we see that Swoop has the blue chest. The Enigma of combination is shown to fit in the T-Rex mouth on the combiner chest. It is then confirmed, for those who were still unsure, that all deluxes and voyager combine in the Power of the Primes line.

For those wanting a time frame, it is then stated that all the toys required for Volcanicus should be available by late spring (ie, the second quarter) but the first wave should be available either right before Christmas, if your lucky, or early 2018.

We then see a pair of wings which John Warden says may or may not be part of the Titan Class figure coming out next (these are Predacon Divebomb's wings).

Hasbro then promotes the Earth Wars game due to Volcanicus' appearance and next month's Machinima Titans Return series which will have some humongous awesomeness in the form of Trypticon.

All reveals look great, personally I will be skipping Windcharger and Rodimus Unicronus as the HFTD Windcharger from years ago imo is far superior and Rodimus Unicronus is not a character I am familiar with.

Rippersnapper looks particularly cool, love his alt mode head!

The Dinobot combiner looks horrible, like a cheap PCC one.

Others look quite good though

The Shattered Glass Rodimus looks interesting, though I think if I were to get that mould (which is likely); I'd prefer plain vanilla Rodimus Prime.

I wasn't planning on getting any Terrorcons, but Blot looks pretty cool! I always liked his colour scheme, and his claws look badass

Terrorcons looks sweet, can't wait to see Abominus (one of the G1 combiners I never had). The less said about the Dino combiner the better.....

Can't wait for the regular release for Grotusque. That helmet looks awesome.

The Terrorcons are looking great individually. I like Hun-Gurrr's stock bot mode. Hopefully this translates into a much more impressive combiner than some others...

I dig the pretenders and the ones with mythical inspired beast modes, seems like that's something Hasbro can get right, unlike there non car altmodes.

I'll be passing on the other guys though.

The Deluxe Terrorcons look great IMO. Hun-Gurrr, not so much...robot mode is good enough but that beast mode is disappointing.:(

Someone on the TFW2005 boards pointed out that Cutthroat's head looks a bit different (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Wildfly) from the official stock image btw.

It's a conspiracy! A CONSPIRACY to separate me from my money! Why must the Terrorcons look so good!? Are those Metalhawk and Gilmer? I MUST have them!! The Windcharger has a funny-looking head... But I want him too!

I like Rodimus Unicronus. Wondering whether he will have Autobot logos as in the prototype pics, Decepticon as in the renders, or optional stickers for both. Either way my Decepticons are getting a new leader next year!

When I got Twinferno I could easily see how it could be remolded into Grotusque (and Fangry) and now I see it played out it's better than I thought. Hope he's not too impossible to get.

The Terrorcons look pretty good, a bit simple but what I want.

Windcharger's new head doesn't appeal. Looks shocking.

The dinobot combiner has hands growing out of its chest/armpits. Sure, it might give it a bulkier look but it just looks silly IMO.

Does Perfect Effect do entire figures? Because this needs a whole new Grimlock torso. The chest (if you can call it that), the tiny head, and the ridiculous shoulders that lead to massive gaps between the arms and torso. It's a shame because the limbs look pretty solid. I guess most people will likely pose them in their individual modes anyway.

Does Volcanicus even get a full sized weapon of his own or is this it?

Noticed the lone grimlock only gets the 2 feet/armor packs and his enigma spark, not even a sword or gun for robot mode unless I missed it between reveals.

I'll be waiting for a Unite Warriors release(or whatever takara does next), I saw stickers, not going near them again

Im sure we will get some perfect effect upgrades for this guyHonestly that's not the point. These figures should have been done properly (like the chest being bulky without having to plug what are obviously hands into it) rather then us needing to spend an extra $50 on a third party kit just to make it look "right".
I dont mind third party kits that enhance figures but it shouldnt feel like it's a mandatory purchase for making a figure look good, we're already spending at least $150 on 5 bots as it is.
For example I'm using the original CW hands and feet with some of my combiners because they still do the job well enough, the perfect effect hands and feet arent really a mandatory purchase IMO, just something that is "nice to have" and enhances the originals.
I dont think we should be excusing poor design choices just because "oh a third party will fix that".
I mean it's not like I'd even be displaying this in combined mode anyway, it's daft, dinobots dont combine (with the exception of the dinoforce of course), but that doesnt mean I cant criticize a poor design.
Does Perfect Effect do entire figures?Actually yes, they released their own version of the cab for TR PM Optimus to replace the original cab with one that can transform into a smaller Optimus as well as combine with the trailer to become Super Optimus. It's call Perfect Combiner Jinrai Prime if you want to look it up.
Ugh, really want a Grotusque but he's going to be really hard to get in Oz, isn't he?Supposedly he'll be available from Hasbro partner stores so that likely means either a TRU or BBTS exclusive. So not really hard to get, just probably a bit expensive and online only.

More photos of the Grotusque toy (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/10/06/titans-return-grotusque-hand-pictures-351658), from someone who was lucky to get one before the HasbroToyShop ran out (very quickly). It shows that the robot mode of the head Fengul, is based on the Japanese Beastformer Platinum Tiger.

And a ToysRUs America listing (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/10/07/titans-return-grotusque-hasbro-toy-shop-toys-r-us-research-351686), suggesting that it will be released there as well, like the HasCon Arcee toy.

I have asked Hasbro Australia if we are getting Arcee here (before this one was revealed), so hopefully we do get both here in some way.

The Scorponok head really makes me wonder if we will ever get a Titan class Scorponok or not. I mean yes there was a Rodimus head in the Chaos box set and now we're getting a Rodimus figure in PotP but by the same token we have a multitude of random loose heads (like Fangry and Horri-Bull) that have no bodies and dont look to be getting any.
Actually that gives me another thought. This Grotusque figure could probably be further retooled into a good body for Fangry, but since Hasbro seem to be moving away from Headmasters for now that might not happen officially.

You also have Brawn getting both a Titanmaster and Legends release in TR.

That said, I don't think you can treat Scorponok like the Headmaster Jrs. Yes with the Headmaster Jrs, HasTak missed out on a half dozen deluxes, a Voyager with Apeface, etc, but they really are a different kettle of fish.

One thing I've noticed is there seems to be a sense of completionism at play with this trilogy with the Combiners and Cityformers.

The fact is that with the exception of the Seacons (and for all we know, they're a later release yet to surface) and Monstructor (although people are noticing the similarities between PotP Cutthroat and Wildfly so who knows), this trilogy will have given us every single combiner from 1985-1988 that saw release in both markets.

Likewise if you class Omega Supreme as a Cityformer (although that's somewhat of a long bow to draw), then there are only 2 Cityformers which have yet to have been given a modern update in the last few years.

Given the way PotP combines gimicks from all three parts of the Trilogy, I highly doubt that we wouldn't get a PotP Scorponok finish off the Cityformers.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the figure came with a Deluxe sized head which had a Matrix slot or Prime Master slot of some kind.

I recall a Hasbro person at some point being quoted that they don't leave groups incomplete. It just seems to take some time!

I'd expect a Titan Scorponok will be come along, and a deluxe Repugnus.

I also believe the Dinobot and Terrorcon molds should also give us anough base molds for a set of Seacons and Pretender Monsters (possibly as box set exclusives like Computron and Liokaiser and probably with some compromises on the sixth member in each team).

Didn't Scorponok win one of those fan vote things?

Nah, that was Trypticon, which we got this year.

The next winner was Optimus Primal, which we are getting as a Leader POTP toy next year.

Since the next Titan Class toy is Predaking for 2018, I don't think Scorponok will happen before 2019.

I really want a new Omega Supreme toy, that has more articulation, and less parts-forming.
Just not a new Omega Spreem toy... :p

I agree wholeheartedly and going back further there's a pattern forming to back you up:

1. FOC = Titan Metroplex (stand alone)
2. CW = Titan Devastator (combiner)
3. TR = Titan Trypticon and titan Fortress Maximus* (stand alones)
4. POTP = Titan Predaking (combiner)

*Note that Fortress Maximus is not that big a departure from titan Metroplex in terms of fundamentals.

We aren't expected to get Arcee or Grotusque here, but if you can get to HK, or have a friend over there, you might be able to get one without the huge scalper markup from America.

I know people already bought most of them. I have friends in Hk telling me that. I am trying to get a few as well. See if I am lucky enough.
