JP Legends Grand Maximus & Greatshot for March 2018

Looks like Takara is doing Legends Greatshot and Grand Maximus (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/10/10/takara-transformers-legends-greatshot-grand-maximus-announced-351917).

That's interesting. They were potential toys but after not getting Metrotitan I didn't think we'd see a Grand Max either.

Greatshot uas a remoulded beast head, while Grand Max will come with a redeco Prime Master suit to homage the original pretender shell... but only if preorders reach 3000. Must be a TakaraTomyMall exclusive.
It will cost about AU$280 before shipping, which I think is about what the first one cost.

Looks like I'll be adding Greatshot to Quickswitch as reuses of the Sixshot mould to keep an eye out for. Grand Maximus would be cool to have but the Metroplex/Fort Max mould is so huge I really don't want another one taking up space.

Interesting little note about Grand Maximus. Takara are not guaranteeing that Grand Max will be produced. If they get less than 2000 orders for it they will not go ahead.


Also, as it is now known, Grand Maximus is not guaranteed to come out. It is stated that 2000 pre-orders need to be through Takara Tomy Mall for this toy be produced. If 3000 are ordered, he will also come with a Pretender suit (which is a Power Master Decoy suit), which can be seen below as well

It gives us a good look at all the mould and colour changes, and the Pretender shell... if they get 3000 pre-orders.

A pity that it is a TakaraTomyMall exclusive, as they would easily get the 3000 if it was available through international sources like Amazon Japan and HLJ.

Hmm, I'd like that Greatshot but I dont think I can justify paying $100 before shipping for a Leader class figure, even if it's an exclusive.

Not a really big deal when there are shipping forwarders available, I've used Tenso (http://www.tenso.com/en/) before to order things from Amazon JP and it was easy enough, so you have options.

Great news for anyone who managed to get their hands on a pre-order for Grand Maximus - they got their minimum of 3000 pre-orders (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/takara-lgex-grand-maximus-exclusive-prime-master-decoy-suit-confirmed/39900/), so not only is the toy going to be produced, it will come with the bonus "pretender shell".

Okay... now there are claims that they DIDN'T make the 3000 minimum (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/11/02/takara-legends-ex-grand-maximus-preorder-bonus-update-352992), and that the pretender shell is not being made. And is this for the Japanese stock, or does it also include the Asia/HK stock, which didn't appear to have the same minimum quota requirements?
I guess we just wait until March (when it is released) to know for sure.

Apparently they are making it but not the pretender shell.

I've heard people say that the Asia/HK release will have the pretender shell, as they usually have bonus extras anyway, and this could be it for their non-JP release of Grand Max.
But... until it comes from an official source, we have a long wait to find out.

Anyone here ordering one from HK, or Japan?
