Transformers Street-Fighter 2 Crossover toys - yeah, that's right

Your eyes are not deceiving you... the next crossover toys in a long line of weird and unusual from Japan (and occasionally from Hasbro too) will be Street Fighter 2 themed (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/11/21/possible-transformers-vs-street-fighter-2-figures-353873).
Similar to the Star Wars and Marvel Transformers, these are robot versions of the other series characters... but in this case, they don't turn into anything unique from that series - these are just straight recolours of existing (recent) Transformers toys.

There are two 2-pack sets announced, for release in May 2018...
- Small pair (Deluxes) - Ken (TR Hotrod) Vs Chun Li (Gen-14 Arcee) - 8549yen.
- Large pair (Voyagers) - Ryu (TR Optimus) Vs Vega/M.Bison (TR Megatron) - 12,960yen

The scanned page mentions TakaraTomyMall, so they could be TTM exclusives (which usually show up at HK sources as well).

More videogame themed crossovers eh. At least these should be better than Mega Drive Megatron and PlayStation Optimus, I wasn't a fan of those moulds in the end.

While this is a good excuse for me to get the TR/lg hotrod release finally (still happy with the classics version of hotrod) I am concerned these are just straight up redeco's.

I must say their decision to use gen arcee as chun li was purely based on the legs alone and there is nothing wrong with that lol, I just hope they come with some other incentive for purchase, other than some goofy little comic explaining why all this is happening

Updated first post with clearer, unwatermarked scans, from TFW (http://news.tfw2005.com/2017/11/21/takara-tomy-transformers-x-capcom-street-fighter-figures-clear-images-353896)... and corrected the Voyager moulds used, being Optimus and Megatron, not Octone and Blitzwing (which do have minor mould differences).

I think they are great. I used to play with Street Fighter figures with my Transformers as a kid and use Lego as their bases. Definitely picking these up.

Interesting to see they still have faction symbols on them with Ken, Ryu and ChunLi as Autobots and Bison as a Con.

Bison is growing on me - wouldn’t mind him and Chunners but the others have zero appeal for me.

The Streetfighter Live Action Movie was rubbish IMO...

The Animated one based on SFII was pretty decent and worth another watch :D
