According to TFW (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/bumblebee-the-movie-worldwide-release-dates.1146351/) (who didn't quote or credit a source, so I can't verify this), some release dates for the Bumblebee Movie have been revealed, including Australia, which is claimed to be Thursday December 20th.

IMDB has some of these dates (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4701182/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_dt_dt), but not the Australian release date, so I can't tell where they got it from.

The listings note that the UK and France has a release date of December 26th, while Germany and New Zealand have the same release date as us in Australia.

Most previous Transformers movies had their US release date brought forward a couple days to be world-first, so we could still see that happen with this one.
Not that it will make much difference, as this time, there will be a novelisation out about a month before the movie comes out.

Updated the Australian release date, now that it is on IMDB... and it is a week after what TFW claimed in their news posting (above) without a source.
Our date is Boxing day, which means having to wait five days after it is released in America and a number of other countries.

But at least we aren't as bad as Japan, which always gets a month or two delay with the live action movies, but this time they could be waiting 4-5 months before seeing the Bumblebee movie there, as it is expected to be released there between March and May (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/07/23/bumblebee-the-movie-to-be-released-on-spring-2019-in-japan-368764).

Never knew that about Japan. What's the reason behind the delayed release?

griffin
25th July 2018, 06:46 PM
Not sure, but they've always had to wait at least a month to see each Transformers movie (late July or early August, from a late June global release)... and it can't be for translating it because they were released in various non-English speaking countries at about the same time as it was released here and in America.
This time it just seems really excessive, and will mean the Bumblebee movie toys (and maybe Studio Series toys for the BBee movie), might not released there until at least February next year.

Promotional poster and trailer for Japan (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/08/03/transformers-bumblebee-movie-japanese-trailer-and-poster-369454), still noting "Spring 2019" (our Autumn), instead of an actual release date, so they still mustn't have a date locked in yet.

It’s a nice idea :) and he still wants a Bbee themed party, but he was really looking forward to going to the movies with his friends in Bathurst. I’ve told him we will still do that, but it will have to be seperate from his birthday.

Oh well, I’ve still got all the cheap TR Seasprays I picked up for the party bags ;)

Thanks for that. I've shared it to our fb page too.

So it took Paramount Australia until August 6th to officially announce the Australian release date, just four months away... I wonder why it took so long.
IMDB isn't too bad for info though, and until ten days ago, the Australian release date (which was previously December 20th, and then later changed to December 26th), could have been from insider sources detailing preliminary dates. Otherwise, how would they have so many release dates listed before they are officially revealed, and any that are wrong, or have changed, at least IMDB is updated accordingly (the did have December 20th listed at one stage, so maybe it was Paramount who changed the date twice before officially adding it to promotional posters).

I find IMDB is a bit like a wiki - info comes in from all sorts of people, and is only as accurate as the most reliable source (until an official source releases the info).

(the other thing to be mindful of, is the release date can still change at any time before its release - sometimes by a few days like previous Transformers Movies, and in some rare occasions, by a several months)

Still worked out to be about 80% off the toy's RRP. It would be the equivalent of buying a Voyager Class Transformer today for $10.

The running time has been announced (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/11/14/transformers-bumblebee-movie-running-time-revealed-376526), at 1 hour and 54 minutes, which is about 30 minutes shorter than the previous shortest one (2007 Movie), and almost an hour shorter than TF4, which was at 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The rating in America has also been revealed as well (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/11/13/transformers-bumblebee-movie-rated-pg-13-376496), with a PG-13 rating... which could end up being PG rated here, or M if the "sequences of sci-fi action violence" is enough to push it up into that rating here.

Looks like the Japanese release date has been revealed, to be March 22nd next year... with tickets going on sale form November 23rd, with 7-11 once again having a special Movie + toy deal (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/11/16/bumblebee-movie-japanese-exclusive-advance-tickets-campaign-items-bumblebee-kewpie-keychain-and-studio-series-rusty-bw-beetle-bumbleebe-376712), with a "rusty" edition of the Studio Series VW Bumblebee, noted as SS-EX.
There will also be exclusive Bumblebee kewpie keychains with pre-ordered tickets.

Meanwhile, over in Russia (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/11/15/bumblebee-the-movie-new-release-date-in-russia-376542), it is being claimed that the Movie will have an early release there, being brought forward to December 13th (seven days before the first countries).

A pity that we didn't have something in Australia as well, as those first screenings in other countries were being labelled as "fan screenings".

Probably what happens when the director follows the script and tells a story that makes sense. :p
I still think that they aren't showing enough Decepticons in the commercials, even if they probably don't have much screen time, it will make the movie look more like a robot action movie, rather than a human-robot drama. People aren't expecting Bay-explosions, but we don't want to put off too many of those millions of past Transformers movie goers hoping to see bot-v-bot action who might think it is just about a single robot exploring earth and human interaction, with a small bit about the military wanting to capture him.

Ok the Rotten Tomatoes score and the generally good reception is getting me hyped. Also, Miranda is showing it this Friday-Sunday. However they want $26 a ticket to see it in V-max which has curbed my enthusiasm somewhat.

Think I'll wait till next week and see it during a quieter time to avoid what looks like surge pricing.

The official world "premiere" was held in LA at the Chinese Theatre on Sunday December 9th... which not only had the current director (Travis Knight), but also the previous director (Michael Bay) who has a Producer credit.
Also on hand were actors Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena, along with voice actors Peter Cullen and Dylan O'Brian (voice of Bumblebee).
A Youtube video can be seen here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0JeFXBXL4M) - a photo gallery can be seen here (https://www.usatoday.com/picture-gallery/life/movies/2018/12/10/bumblebee-los-angeles-premiere-red-carpet/2260530002/).

At about the 10 hour mark I get a message from the missus; she booked Gold Class tickets for me and my son to see Bumblebee on Thursday night as a boys night. What a woman. Saw it this morning with my six year old daughter, she loved it. I loved it too, everything what I expected and a bit more, certainly not a blueprint for future TF films though, but stands up very well on its own. Captures the emotion between human and bot similar to Terminator 2, I won't go on more than that for now.

I saw it with my son this evening and apart from technical issues (movie screen shutdown due to electrical storm for 15 mins) we loved the movie. My son was a little confused at the start when he kept saying "no daddy, that looks like Starscream not Blitzwing". If a 5 year old even thinks it was Starscream, I don't know what they were going for calling him Blitzwing.

Apart from that, there is definitely a lot of G1 love in the movie. My son loved it as he is used to the 80s cartoon so he recognised most of them. Big thumbs up.

That's becoming more of a thing.
I'm guessing to try to combat piracy.

I thought it would actually increase piracy, as those people who were more likely to buy a physical copy (for them, or more importantly, their kids), would now go find a digital copy if they can't wait the extra two weeks, and prefer not to pay for that digital copy if they intend to get a physical copy. And then later maybe decide not to buy the physical copy now that they have a (free) digital copy.

The blu-ray version of the Bumblebee movie in America comes with a "motion comic" (and printed copy it seems), that is said to follow on from the Movie (since the next movie is likely to ignore its existence, it will probably be contradicted or reduced to partial canon in a few years time).
The story is called - Sector 7 Adventures : The Battle at Half Dome.

A three page preview can be seen here (https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/03/18/bumblebee-sector-7-adventures-the-battle-at-half-dome-preview-385519), with Bumblebee (in Camaro form) taking on Soundwave and three of his cassettes (two of which we've seen on screen... and the other has appeared in one of the early comics).

Some screenshots and a link to promo video can be seen here (https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/03/19/bumblebee-movie-digital-release-itunes-exclusive-bee-vision-extras-details-385539).

So has anyone heard anything about stores offering extras if you preorder with them? Sanity did cards for TF5, Amazon did a statuette for TF4 etc. So far all I've heard is if you buy the 4k Blu Ray that you get a ton of bonus features on the disks.

More of the bonus features on the US release of the Bumblebee Movie (or some promo clips that relate to exclusive editions).

Deleted scene - Memo guesses that Bumblebee might be a Gobot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMfGxCVXELI) (he was seen reading a Gobots comic in the released version of the Movie, which means that toyline is in this Transformers universe).
Outtake or shortened scene (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RipUQ_6RuEU)? - Agent Burns wanting a door blown up, but has to wait for a bumbling explosives tech to untangle the wiring first.
Deleted scene (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNZxKp7vrX0) - Charlie and her brother washing Bumblebee, and then taking it for a drive.
Shortened scene (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBts2n3bHMQ) - the chase scene when Bumblebee first came to earth.
Featurette (https://comicbook.com/movies/2019/03/19/bumblebee-movie-storyboard-featurette-transformers/) - on Comic Book Resources website.

It doesn't look like it (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=26132). It seems each TFs movie that gets released, we get less and less versions with bonus items. I ended up with several copies of the first movie because of the different bonus items or cases, but the last couple I've only ended up with one copy.
I guess the drop in numbers of people buying physical copies is a factor, as it wouldn't be worth producing bonus items under a certain quantity.

One extra deleted scene is one that had been rumoured for quite some time, but now we get to see it - the home appliances (TV, dishwasher, washing machine) in Charlie's house coming alive... with some rough CG animation, as it was obviously cut during post-production.

(most of the scene is actually in the movie, but re-edited in post-production to remove any hint of the appliances)
The exclusive release of the deleted scene can be seen here (https://people.com/movies/hailee-steinfeld-deleted-scene-bumblebee/?fbclid=IwAR2v7slaRvF7GBLw90ncPulTMU2zTShOToICqb6D FO1s9lOMyZqBdbxtMK8), while screen-grabs of the appliances can be seen here (https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/03/23/deleted-scene-from-the-bumblebee-movie-charlie-dodges-kitchenbots-385731).

The Bumblebee Movie is finally out in Japan, and on youtube is a short 80 second animated intro to the movie (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTcaBxu4YtU)... in cutesy chibi style.

Lol, I didn't say it was a good way to combat piracy, I just said I'm guessing that's why they're doing it, with the potentially misguided expectation of getting it out sooner to those who don't want or can't wait for the physical copy. :D:cool:

(move some posts to the Australian news topic (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=26132) that was also running with the same info)

My friend found this statue promoting Bumblebee on her recent trip to Japan.

The Ultra HD DVDs in America appear to have an audio issue (https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/06/05/paramount-replacing-bumblebee-ultra-hd-discs-with-audio-sync-issues-389411), and Paramount is replacing them (if mailed in).
I don't know if the Australian release has a similar problem though, as I haven't heard yet of anyone here having issues.

I haven’t noticed anything and I’m pretty quick to pick up on these issues

The DVD/BR release of the Bumblebee movie in Japan is July 24th (they had a really late release of the movie in cinemas), and some of the bonus extras noted for the Amazon listings include some Papercraft figures of Bumblebee, Shatter and/or Dropkick (https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/06/20/official-bumblebee-movie-papercraft-models-bumblebee-files-with-japanese-bumblebee-movie-home-video-release-390005).
