(it seems odd that they would bother with such well known, expensive names, for a short-lived, cartoon that doesn't get too much attention because it is advertising toys that came out 1-2 years ago)

It's the storyline that counts... a good storyline.
To me, the CW and TR series just lacked soul.
Great to have big names doing the voices but if the plot is weak.........

The POTP cartoon comes out next month, and a full trailer has been released by Machinima on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nU1rL4u_iQ)... giving us a sneak peak of Predaking, the new Dinobots and Optimus Primal.

They've also been releasing parts of a large promo poster (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/04/23/upcoming-machinimas-power-primes-teaser-poster-362864), but I think one piece is still missing.

There was actually more than one piece still missing from the promo poster, as there were twelve parts released... and yesterday the final part was released, allowing people and websites to merge the parts into the full image (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/04/30/mahcinimas-power-primes-poster-completed-363152).

And a day later (today), the first episode was released on the American Go90 website, called The Swamp (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/05/01/machinimas-power-primes-episode-1-now-online-363188). For those of us who can't yet see it but don't care about spoilers, you can read up on the early opinions of fans on the American fansites.

Can anyone identify the character in the top left corner? I don't recognise it from Combiner Wars or Titan Returns, and I thought I knew all the upcoming PoTp toys in the schedule

Machinima have released a six minute catchup video (https://www.facebook.com/machinima/videos/10151101113099987/) on Facebook, covering the events of the two previous series, narrated by Victor Caroli... who narrated the original 80s cartoon and Movie, and narrated the Titans Return series.
(it is also supposed to be on their tumblr page (https://transformersprimewars.tumblr.com/), along with episode 1, but I couldn't get the episode to play, so maybe it is region blocked... or just glitchy at the moment)

Solus Prime perhaps?
There are two Original Primes listed on the cast (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers:_Power_of_the_Primes_(cartoon)), and it is opposite Megatronus on the poster, who is the other Original Prime.

It's great to hear Victor Caroli's voice acting again. It's interesting that his vocal range hasn't changed all that much since the 80's, like so many other voice acting talents of that period - Peter Cullen included (his voice has really moved into that deep baritone range).

Not to mention that it massively retcons a major part of TF lore to a Pagan religious trope.

The episodes are indeed all posted up there, but for some reason, I can't get any of the POTP episodes to play. Are they region blocked, or only viewable if you are signed in as a member of tumblr?

Episode 9 is called called Megatronus Unleashed (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/06/26/machinimas-power-of-the-primes-episode-9-now-online-366194).

A surprise announcement (http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/06/28/verizon-shutting-down-video-streaming-app-go90-366280) by the owner of the Go90 app (Verizon), will have the app shut down soon (July 30th)... which is only a couple of weeks after the POTP cartoon has its last episode posted.

At least there will still be the tumblr option for people to watch later, but you have to register first to view the videos.

Episode 10 was released this week, and it was titled - Saga's End.

For some reason I thought there were 12 episodes... but there is only 10, and that is the last one of the Prime Wars Trilogy.

For those who want to read through the entire mini-series (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers:_Power_of_the_Primes_(cartoon)), if they can't see it, or don't yet want to.

Feels like the series has a little bit of an Evangelion influence to it... at least with some of the visuals in the finale.

It's proved OKish, but I can't say I'll miss it that much. It honestly felt more like an amateurish fan series in some parts than an official series. Hopefully whatever gets released for WFC will be a vast improvement.

For those who aren't registered to Tumblr, or haven't yet seen the POTP series, al ten episodes are now on youtube on Machinima's channel here (https://www.youtube.com/user/machinima/videos).

Here's something unusual (http://news.tfw2005.com/2019/01/21/machinima-sets-entire-youtube-channel-to-private-including-prime-wars-trilogy-381202)... without any official announcement, Machinima have blocked access to their cartoons (including the Transformers Prime Wars Trilogy), on both Youtube and Tumblr.
For those who don't have the Combiner Wars cartoon on that special edition of the TF5 Movie, or saved a copy of the episodes while they were up, it might actually require you now to view pirated copies (like the old days when we traded video tapes of episodes that were not yet available legally).
Maybe their license to distribute had expired, or they are going out of business (it would explain why they have blocked access to all of their works).
(realistically though, their view counts were never anything spectacular, so wouldn't have been deemed a successful expense on Hasbro's part... nor will it be missed by many, as the very few fans who liked it, probably saved a copy - and after all of this time, those still intending to see it would have been very small).

(but just to echo the words of the news poster on TFW - this is why we should still have the cartoons released on some form of physical medium, be it DVD, BR or USB stick... because if it only has a digital release and it can't be legally copied, we lose it to the black market when the official copies are no longer available)

I believe I read a company bought Machinima and they've delisted all their videos while they work out the copyrights for everything.

Or something along those lines...

I'm frustrated, still yet to see the third part of the trilogy, and from all I've heard it was the only one worth my time. I was planning to squeeze it into lunch times over the next couple months. (when I remembered to)

I'll probably just forget about it now. . .

Im sure someone would have saved it on to a hard drive or something. It'd definitely be out there

I won't be able to check from work, however I wonder if their tumblr streams are still active?

That's how I used to watch them since the youtube channel started out geoblocked.

I still have the last two series on my computer as mp4 files (I deleted Combiner Wars when I got the official release on the TF5 DVD), so the next time we cross paths (probably me in Sydney), I can put POTP on a usb for you.
