Some additional comments
"It was great to see new and obscure characters brought out for the TR line."

"Wish we had another year of Titans Return rather than POTP"

"The only problem is that there is too many of them in a year"

"I think the Legends leader class was a bit let down this year. Godbomber wasn't that great and Sixshot didn't do it for me. Trypticon not included anywhere?" [Editor's note: Other than liked it or didn't wasn't much to vote on with the big Dino!]

"Couldn't vote for the clones as a group :P"

"The Masterpiece Beast Wars figures have been absolute standouts amongst the G1 Masterpiece line, it is ridiculous how TakTom's engineers and designers have seemingly plucked the Mainframe Entertainment CG models straight out of the show, and rendered them nigh perfectly in plastic. There have certainly been incredible entries into the ongoing G1-based masterpieces in 2017, but I feel Optimus Primal & Cheetor stole the show enigmatically."

"Just a fantastic year overall"

Runner-up: Optimus Prime (voyager) (14%)

Some additional comments
"Absolutely NO interest in the movie toys this year. Saved me some $$$"

"Distribution Australia was AWFUL retailers need to stop stocking wave 1 so heavily. also frontloading the line with repaints was a dumb idea on Hasbro's part. the length of the line was also disappointing But I still enjoyed this line much more than Titans Return"

"The movie line was the most unappealing so far. The lack of stock making it to Australian shelves did not help."

"Didn’t add the fun formula they had with Titan Returns, think that would help the accessibility of the line"

"It's a shame that there were so few of the newer movie characters produced, even though they only had a couple minutes screen time the newer Decepticons were interesting concepts that would have been good to have as toys. I found the toy line a little lacklustre compared to previous lines."

"Didn't buy any, all expensive and looked like crap"

Some additional comments
"Good series that do not get the support here they deserve. Target audience loves them, but trying to get them the toys they want is nigh impossible without overseas stores."

"I've skipped these entirely."

"Poor show, makes it hard to get into the toys"

"Very sad to see RiD go, the line has been one of my favourites and it sucks to see it end before we could get toys of some of the fun and unique Decepticon Designs"

"It took 30 years, but Cyclonus' long-lost armada finally appeared in the forms of Shockdrive and Warnado. Bravo!"

Fiction part 1: Cartoons

Favourite character in Titans Return
Winner: Optimus Prime (18%)
Runner-ups: Perceptor, Windblade, Trypticon, Megatron, and Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime (12% each)

Some additional comments
"I am so behind in watching the cartoon"

"Sad to see RiD end. I had enjoyed the show immensely. hopefully the next series will be fun too. But I will miss RiD"

"Watched a bit of Titans returns, but must admit I have no favourites of it from anything."

"Transformers R.I.D. ended up being ok, but just that, ok - Titans Return is a continuation of Machinima mediocrity. Transformers is REALLY lacking in the animation department, there isn't anything on the horizon to suggest a change in that situation which is even more concerning. I'd really like to see a return to form with Transformers in this space, as at the moment, the only thing worth looking forward to is the upcoming Bumblebee movie!"

"I've been enjoying RID a lot, it's not TF: Prime but it's well written and animated. the Humour of Grimlock is a definite highlight for me. I've only seen the first episode of Titans return, so I am yet to have a favourite character, and to be honest I am yet to be really interested. I like the animation style, and I can see why people are disappointed."

"I'm not up to date on RiD (found it a little boring). The TR cartoon is awfully written and too cheaply made to include any decent action."

Fiction part 2: Movie

Favourite Autobot character in The Last Knight
Winner: Cogman (27%)

Favourite Decepticon/Evil character in The Last Knight

Runner-ups: William Lennox (Josh Duhamel) (21%), Izabella (Isabela Moner) and Viviane Wembly (Laura Haddock) (16% each)

Favourite action scene in The Last Knight
Winner: Bumblebee versus Optimus Prime

Funniest scene in The Last Knight
Winner: Cogman at the organ

Some additional comments
"Liked it more than AOE or ROTF. but it's still just a Bayformers movie. I do appreciate the Decepticons actually getting even the slightest amount of personality this time though. "

"Too many ideas in this movie making it yet another Bay mess. Also, can't really comment on Decepticon characters as they didn't really have any (still)"

"It was an okay film."

"Awful. Just awful."

"It was awful yet I still bought the 4k bluray. Shame on me."

"Quite enjoyed it, though the movie I will rewatch the least"

"Basically the same fare as the last three films: a convoluted and bloated mess. Only a few humans were characters and the transformers were again background noise, except for the poor man’s K-2SO. Not the worst, but the second worst... so far"

Fiction part 3: Comics

Favourite Transformers Comic Book Series of 2017
Winner: Lost Light (59%)
Runner-ups: Optimus Prime (18%), Till All Are One (14%)

Favourite character in Transformers comics this year
Winners: Megatron and Rodimus and Getaway (17% each)

Favourite moment in Transformers comics this year
No winner

Some additional comments
"A shame Till all are One is over. but at least MTMTE/Lost Light is still around. still the best piece of Transformers comic fiction of all time"

"Haven't read enough to have a worthwhile opinion"

"How good is Lost Light?"

"Lost Light seems to have lost its way. I don't think the new art style is helping and the stories seem to peter out."

"I have enjoyed them a lot over the last couple years. I'm always behind though as I read the trades and not the single issues."

"I guess the Hatchette comic reprints don't count... even though it was probably the only TFs comics I read last year. I really should read some of the new stories, but having multiple TFs comic books running simultaneously makes it difficult."

"The Legends comics have provided me with the most comic joy this year."

Well it took BBTS a full week to get around to shipping my last POL when I put the order in earlier this month. I put in for HLJ to ship my POL with them this morning and 4 hours later I got the shipping notice :D

Just want to say congrats to M-bot for winning the category of favourite OTCA customiser/creative person for 2017. You earned it. :)

Thanks once again Paulbot for doing this... it still amazes me that it has been 10 years since the first one, and looking back over the results of that
one, it's fascinating to see how some category winners have changed over the years, while some have ended up staying about the same.

Wow HLJ for store. Voted for BBTS as have always been reliable for me, but with Oz dollar and their shipping cost, I
think I may need to get on the HLJ train.

BBTS used to be so popular... but then Amazon started shipping a lot of its mainline Transformers (with cheaper shipping than BBTS), and the
exchange rate went from parity to about 70us cents. And I found that BBTS started getting more difficult ordering individual figures, as they were
either higher priced for being short-packed, or they forced you to buy cases or sets, so that they weren't stuck with figures no one wanted.

I think it has been about two years since I last shopped from there, and I used to order heaps of stuff, using their private warehouse feature.

This was a photo I included in the news posting on our facebook page for the Ozformers Awards results. It doesn't include all of the winning toys,
but is most of them.

Wow, I’m well and truly humbled by the votes I got! Thank you all. I was confident that Snaketales had me covered this year as I wasn’t as prolific as I have been before. But I have a heap of TF customs to unveil in the coming year.

Cheers to Paulbot for setting this up :)

Some interesting observations; like how TR Sixshot was voted as favourite TR Leader class figure for 2017. I don't have it myself, but I remember watching Youtube videos where the reviewers talked trash about that Sixshot. I might now have to track it down to see for myself.

Also, the Triggerhappy figure is amazing (one of my faves!); but I thought of Topspin as a step-up version of the Triggerhappy design (similar transformation/engineering, but more steps + Being an Autobot), and with that it might've taken the top spot.

Very cool, and very interesting to read the results :D

And the level of pedantry I displayed shows why I got no BOOTY call 2017 :p
Records show you got 3rd place. So basically, you robbed someone; someome who'd worked hard all year; someome deserving of a minor placing & a little recognition from our community.

How you even got 3rd place is beyond me. Must be those PriceWaterhouseCooper's couple who handed over the wrong envelop at the Oscars. And Wazza Beatty giving a hospital handpass to Faye Dunaway.

Sure, you rock up to a meet up or two.

Even a toy review or three. Let's be honest, all for your own website.

You barely help out in the Sightings thread. Oh, but I live in whoop whoop excuse.

If I ever run in to you; ever; I'll make sure; read my lips; we'll have some grub at a pub of your choosing. Just not the one adjacent to the vet.

Don't you knock vet meat mate! The best cafe in town is right between the vets and the abattoir so you not only get some cow but a few nice surprises from the domesticated animal world to spice up the flavour!

Wow HLJ for store. Voted for BBTS as have always been reliable for me, but with Oz dollar and their shipping cost, I think I may need to get on the HLJ train.

I always find HLJ to sell out of pre-order stuff before I get a chance to look them up. And their stocked transformers product is pretty lean. I have used them and I'm happy with them but I have other favourites.

Again, I've enjoyed reading the results of the Poll, congrats to those recognised for their contributions to the group, all well deserved.

Thanks Paulbot, for prepping and reporting, it's got to be a solid task.
