Seems interesting, the silhouette looks WFC-esque

I don't think it looks like the original WFC Prime. Just looks like G1 Prime with the typical modern Optimus axe. Remember this WFC has nothing to do with the original WFC which was set in the Transformers Prime universe.

Anyway I can't wait till next week to see what next years line looks like. I hope there are lots of G1 characters we have never had in the CHUG line.

Also if the Micromaster rumour is true I hope they sell them in full Patrols. It would trigger the little OCD part of my brain if I didn't have the full Patrol.

It doesn’t look particularly compelling... another Optimus Prime isn’t particularly a surprise.

Will be interested to see what the other figures from the new War for Cybertron line are like though.

(What would really excite me is a tease of the Seacon combiner)

My first impression is that it is POTP OP with an axe (from the arm kibble and the feet). Might that heart rhythm pattern at the bottom of the pic relevant?

Maybe it's the new MP Optimus... but the hand-held axe doesn't make much sense.

I hope not a new MP. We already have 3.0 coming. I feel we're becoming oversaturated with Primes. I understand why they do a new Prime with every new line, but I dunno, I'm kinda becoming over it. I've skipped Primes here and there for the last few lines.

Nah, that’s just a Hasbro Pulse branding element

Never enough optimus primes, we do need more megatrons though.

If it turns out to be the 3.0 it'd be a sign of a proper has-tak merger as for now they still have encoures and mp's exclusive to takara

Looks too blocky to be 3.0:

Looks closer to POTP Prime:

But with MP-10's gun and a hand-held axe.

It's got a double meaning, its a hint that this will be a redeco of POTP OP in sleep mode! Just like the monitors on him in the movie just before he...

Note: This is not a serious post :p

http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/07/13/transformers-generations-war-for-cybertron-figures-revealed-367323

It was a silhouette of WFC: Siege Optimus Prime, a Voyager.

Also reveals Sideswipe (deluxe) and Firedrive ('Battle Master' ie a Targetmaster).

Designs look interesting. They're not fully Cubertronian, but more sort of 1980s retro futuristic looking, kind of like the TF Animated designs.

Also, it looks like the first part of this new Generations trilogy is imprinted SIEGE.

Sideswipe and targetmasters are good, so kinda sold on them, TM definitely. Prime, meh. Wanna see more in due time. I woulda preferred full on cybertronian vehicles over earth looking, but oh well

Paulbot

The voyager Prime looks quite alright (messy alt mode though) and I quite like the Sideswipe. Will probably skip the TargetBattle masters

But mainline deluxes are $20 USD now huh. Great...

1AZRAEL1
14th July 2018, 09:49 AM
Crap. Didn't even notice that price. So likely 40 for us. Not a far stretch if Kmart has deluxes at 35. Guess I'll be skipping alot unless I find them on special

Doesn't look too bad, but not too inspired either. Combined with the price, Hasbro is really helping to firm my resolve on cutting back. :D

The details of the three size classes revealed with this sneak peek (which will have more reveals at SDCC next weekend.

Transformers: Generations War for Cybertron: Siege Battle Masters WFC-S1 Firedrive
The WFC-S1 FIREDRIVE figure converts from robot mode to Duo-Charge Electrostatic Photon Cannon mode in 5 easy steps. Use the weapon mode to equip other Siege figures (sold separately) with larger mission loadouts and use the included Fire Blasts to simulate blasterfire or explosions firing from the ends of weapon mode Battle Masters or other Siege weapon accessories (not included/ each sold separately).
Retail Price: $5.99

Transformers Generations War for Cybertron: Siege Deluxe Class WFC-S10 Sideswipe
This articulated 5.5-inch scale Deluxe Class WFC-S10 SIDESWIPE action figure features classic conversion between robot and CYBERTRONIAN car modes in 16 steps. The WFC-S10 SIDESWIPE figure features story-inspired battle-worn deco and is equipped with a W-10 Photo-Pulser Proton Launcher weapon accessory and a W-5 Gyro Blaster weapon accessory. The 2 weapon accessories mod-lock together to form the larger RR Gyrofuse Axleswitch Hyper-Blaster.
Retail Price $19.99

Transformers: Generations War for Cybertron: Siege Voyager Class WFC-S11 Optimus Prime
This highly articulated 7-inch scale Voyager Class WFC-S11 OPTIMUS PRIME action figure features classic conversion between robot and CYBERTRONIAN armored truck modes in 27 steps. The figure features story-inspired battle-worn deco and is equipped with a W-50 Dual-Mech ENERGON Strikeshield weapon accessory with converting axe and shield modes and a W-M3 RF Ion Blaster accessory. The 2 weapon accessories mod-lock together to form the larger Sentrystrike Ultra-Blaster. Multiple C.O.M.B.A.T. System weapons ports in bot and vehicle modes allow fans to attach weapons to figure in custom weapon configurations.
Retail Price: $29.99

Obviously those are US prices, and depending on the exchange rate at the time of purchase by Hasbro Australia, probably expect double those figures here, as the Deluxe class has been edging its way to US$20 in the last few years, and these US prices are generally about half the average of our retail prices.

The US RRPs for 2016 were...

GEN TMast - - 5
GEN Deluxe - - 17
GEN Voyager - 25

The US RRPs for 2017 were...
TF5 Legion -- - - 6
TF5 Deluxe - - - 20
TF5 Voyager - - 30

The US RRPs for 2018 were...
GEN PMast - - 5
GEN Deluxe - - 17
GEN Voyager - 25

Based on the 2017 US price points that match the new WFC price points, anything under double those figures here has been a bonus for us... but at some point, as the US prices go up, ours will follow.

The WFC: Siege toys look interesting. To me they look just more like futuristic Earth modes than Cybertronian.

I might get one or two battle masters, just the better quality ones. Some of my Transformers could use more accessories. I might also buy a Red Alert repaint of the Sideswipe if they do it, I always found Red Alert's deco more interesting than Sideswipe's. I've been trying to cut back, so I think like PotP, I'll just see if they release any of my favourite characters and focus mainly on them.

Siege:The War for Cybertron

reillyd

There is little Cybertronian about those alt modes. Maybe by "War for Cybertron" they mean the war to "RECLAIM" Cybertron, mounting a return from Earth?

SMHFConvoy
14th July 2018, 03:34 PM
Someone mentioned on Twitter that in the debut episode of Transformers that all the robot modes did not vary between cybertron and their reactivation on earth so their cybetronian alt modes (save for wheeljack, bumblebee, soundwave, the seekers and laserbeak) may have been closer to the earth vehicles they were given (except for megatron.)

Anyway it's speculation until we see what they've got for SDCC.

With those targetmasters. We might see the target master Autobots getting made. Also with all the Targetmaster goodness be able to give our con Targetmasters guns I hope.

Am I the only one that's not a fan of the battle damage?

Hopefully the western release of Takara's Target Masters means I finally get a Nightstick and Fracas to round out my collection of LG '87 Target Masters.

Sideswipe and the Targetmaster look good. Optimus’ alt-mode is complete balls

hYpNoS
14th July 2018, 10:48 PM
While the robot modes look nice especially since the sideswipe gives me vibes of the mp version I might be better off sticking just to the target masters which look just like the ones the LG figures had, being stand alone I'm happy with them alone.

Now, about those leader class figures...when do we see those :D

i actually don't mind the battle damage. but the alt-modes don't seem to be very different to Earth ones. Doesn't seem very Cybertronian.

15th July 2018, 07:55 PM
Awwwwww! I was hoping that they were actually going to revisit the War for Cybertron designs, or do something along those lines, now I'm disappointed.

I mean they look fine, but seem just like another slavishly G1 robot mode (one of which is a character we get every year), with a slightly different altmode.

I think I'm starting to get over G1 outside of MP's. I'm starting to miss that time Hasbro tried new things with new characters, how weird.

Yeah, me too.

There is a drought in the CHUG lines. Between Titans Return and Power of the Primes, we've got (I think) only one new character/concept - Slash. Titans Return gave us two new guys (Alpha Bravo and Offroad) but nothing else new that comes to mind.

Some of my favourite Transformers in the past few years have been from RID (Fracture, Thunderhoof, Scorponok, Thermidor) but the amount of attention the G1 CHUG stuff gets just overshadows anything else in the fandom.

Cyberverse sadly looks like it's going to be G1 heavy too so the only place for new ideas seems to be the Bumblebee movie toyline.

DELTAprime
15th July 2018, 10:09 PM
Thing is I wonder if guys like Victorion, Alpha Bravo and Offroad sold well enough to justify Hasbro continuing to create new characters for G1 based series. Sure Drift and Windblade seem to be doing ok, but I really wonder if the majority of the new characters are selling well or not.

FruitBuyer
16th July 2018, 09:41 AM
Yeah, me too.

Looking at all the extreme vitriol fans were spewing when they saw Alpha-Bravo and Jet-fighter Blast-Off, I'm not surprised. The GEEWUNNERS are rabid as they are loud.

1AZRAEL1
16th July 2018, 10:07 AM
Geewunners, they are becoming as bad as rabid Star Wars fans.

On topic, I do wish for new characters. There were a few done recently but not enough. The SWAT vehicle too was new, and I quite like that mold. Most of my classics figures haven't been replaced by some of the new iterations. I still prefer my Universe Sideswipe over this new one, which looks just like a scaled down MP to me. We did get get a number of updates for G1 characters at least. But now with a new line, just rehashing characters again with new designs.

I'm at the point that if I've got an updated "Classics" figure, I'd have to consider a new one sufficiently better than the one I have to get it.
