Dunno which one you're after but optimus of any kind are VERY hard to find, found an SS hidden around eastland myer I...think on Tuesday but that was the ONLY optimus I've seen in months after all the sales cleared them

Went to TRU Campelltown NSW, the signs say their store is open for 10 more days.
Nothing of interest though, only TF are TLK figures (mostly DLX Berserker) and most of the other shelves were empty as well.
Nearly all fixtures and fittings there were 50% off but again nothing worth mentioning.

Parramatta store had 10 days left till closure when I went in yesterday evening (Thursday). Fixtures were 50% off as well.

Only TFs I could see were TLK Berserkers, but it was a bloody mess, so there could have been something else in the debris of toys.

I took a long lunch and went to Marsden Park yesterday. sections of the store closed, most lego gone, I picked up a few things, there were still some ss Thundercrackers and mpm barricades there around mid afternoon.

I can go back out for people but you'll have to cover my toll costs :o

They also had signs up saying 10 days to go.

I was going to head out to Marsden Park today to see if they had any larger LEGO sets left (had them behind the register last time I visited) but their phone just rings out and I’m not wasting a trip out there without knowing!

Went to Aspley tru, not worth the trip really. Lots of the all plastic generic playsets and a few things around a pretty empty store. Check line was about half the length of the place, so if I wanted something probably an hour wait to just pay for it. That would explain if you tried to call them and they didn't answer, they're too busy.

Anyway, saw two mp barricades, both were open boxes. People suck. One trigger happy sitting on a shelf.

Checked out Bankstown NSW today. Closing in 9 more days but nothing much left, mostly TLK dlx Berserkers and a few TLK voy Hounds.
There was a MPM Barricade there, no idea if it will still be there but it was with the plush toys behind an elephant if anyone wants to try for it.

At the rate it cleared out in the last 7 days, it might not stay open that long. It was almost like 75% of the stock was sent elsewhere during the week, or back to suppliers they still owe money to.

Funny how each store is different or not paying attention to directions from upper management. We bought a basket about 10 days ago with a perfectly intact logo. I’d say we could swap it out next time you’re in Sydney but that be a right royal pain to fly with.

Apparently Marsden Park TrU is gutted for transformers and the only LEGO items left are from the last Jedi and last pirates of the Caribbean brickheadz

I’ve been to three TRU stores in the last 24 hours (Doncaster, Moorabin and Fountain Gate) and each is really down to the dregs of content. Lego sets are gone. Most Transformers have gone - but I’ve seen multiple Titan Master Brawn. The only toyline with a fair bit of stock in all stores has been Star Wars.

I wonder if the closing down sale has had an acute impact on other similar sized retail stores such as Toyworld / Toy Kingdom?

I doubt it, there will probably be a slow down over the next few months as birthday and Christmas presents are 'not' purchased because they were bought at the sale.
I don't think it will be acute as such. A lot of the stuff purchased at the liquidation will not be saved for presents, a certain amount of it will be people buying stuff because it's 50% off and will put it straight in to service, I know we did with a ride on Thomas the tank engine this last week.

Also, as people ramp up to Christmas, they are going to have less places to shop at now, so the remaining stores will probably find they are slightly busier.

Since TRU has a higher mark up and most of the good stuff was heavily depleted during when they announced 30-40% off discount, the impact is probably the same or a little more than any point of the year when Kmart/BigW is running a general 20-25% off discount on all toys when you're not.

If I was in Sydney I’d be looking to buy up their shelving and fixtures cheap for my TF shed when I build it. I wouldn’t be holding out much hope for getting any figures I wanted at this stage.
