Picked up Sentinel Prime, Swoop and the latest Universe Robot Heroes at TRU. The sweet thing is I got BOTH animated figures for $16.99 because they aren't currently on file. However, when they went to do a price check, the guy must have looked at the movie scouts price ($16.99, buy one get one free) so the operator put it through and I ended up with a bargain animated and a free one to boot!! That should at least make up for the fact that I paid $12.99 each for all 6 of the latest Robot Heroes packs..... :p

- Sentinel Prime...alt mode looks a little (a lot really) like Fisher Price designed it. Can't comment on bot mode as this guy is staying MOSC for the foreseeable future.

- Classics Bluestreak...I really like. Much better paint styling than Prowl IMO, although a little sloppy with a couple of silver paint spots where they shouldn't be.

- Couple of unpainted Rainmakers just awaiting some special treatment and...

- A genuine, vintage G1 Trailbreaker biocard from my dear old dad who saw it in an antiques store and knew that I would love it. Thanks Dad! :)

Mine was $49.99, not the best price compared to what others got it at but still cheaper than its meant to be so its a win.

However my Dirge was misassembled, his thighs were put on backwards!

However it only took a few mins with a screwdriver to fix him up. If yours also has the same problem be careful not to loose the small tabs inside the legs for the ratchet joint.

- The Comic two packs were a function of just how cheap I was able to score them (not to mention my thirst for Ratbat). :D Thanks to Jaydisc on helping me work the angle too. Couldn't believe it myself! Also got fortunate cos after asking two TRU staff members if there were anymore and told there weren't after I picked up the 1st four, I bumped into chick who had done the pricematch for me and she told me they'd actually found some and I could grab them which of course I did. It makes me wonder about how hard TRU staff look when u call. (though I should give them credit cos both Highpoint and Chadstone reported them on the shelves this morning when I called). Oh and one set is for lcz128. Love these guys heaps and will open 'em straight away unlike other stuff that has been gathering dust still in their postage boxes. :o

- Titanium Grimlock and Prowl. Had to get a spare of these guys for display. Among the best Titaniums and a definitely cornerstone of my collection. Great representation of great characters.

Well first I gotta say a BIG THANK YOU to jgon for making it possible for to finally acquire my very own FORTRESS MAXIMUS.

jgon I have to say is one of the most generous sellers I've found around the traps and it is a privilege to do business with him.

The Comic two packs were a function of just how cheap I was able to score them (not to mention my thirst for Ratbat). Thanks to Jaydisc on helping me work the angle too. Couldn't believe it myself! Also got fortunate cos after asking two TRU staff members if there were anymore and told there weren't after I picked up the 1st four, I bumped into chick who had done the pricematch for me and she told me they'd actually found some and I could grab them which of course I did. It makes me wonder about how hard TRU staff look when u call.
*sigh* I miss the 90s when staff would let us go into back storerooms and crack open cases on palettes that we could go through and grab toys that were in stock but not yet shelved. Now they never do that and always give the automated response that all their stock is on the shelf... which we know is not always true. :/

One of the shoulder armours is a little bit loose and the groin guard is really loose - it took me a while to figure out how to secure that thing in, but I'm afraid that it'll fall out easily ifwhen I play with it. ;) I was surprised to see that the white Magnus gun can be cliped on the side of the shoulder like G1 Magnus' missile but kinda disappointed that the same cannot be done with the black gun. Although having the rear storage is neat... I guess he can shoot enemies with it who are directly overhead! :)

Yeah my city commander 'cup piece' stays on very well after I pushed it in. Initially I also thought it was a bit loose until I pushed it in and it clicked into place.

My city commander armor is very solid and stays put during play which is excellent, specially when most of the articulation of the base figure is carried over as I was showing Liegeprime in the meet last saturday.

The pose of the picture that Gok posted of his City Commander actually looks very good in how he is holding down the BFG. Its weird as Magnus with the armor can't hold the BFG but Classics Prime can because he has tighter joints. I need to work on the joints of my Magnus.

I also could have scored the Comic 2-Packs from TRU. Both K.wong and DD were at Chaddy earlier and didn't manage to find it. It was hidden on the highest shelves almost touching the ceiling, the sales guy had to bring a tall ladder in to grab them (Twas the last set :( ).

I wanted to keep them since I found them, but they were not scanning up and I was afraid to face the same nasty manager again at the counter and not sure what price I was gonna get them for. So in the end DD came to the rescue and showed his dopey eyes to the lady cashier who gave in for the $40 price. So the kind me let DD and Icy have one of the sets each (and poor melly had none). :cool:

The Myer catalogue sale ended today for Ultra class Universe 2.0 figures at $49.95. With a Myer One $10 discount voucher, got Silverbolt for $39.95.

I picked up Universe Dirge and Roadbuster from Parramatta Toys 'R' Us after the fair for $59.99. They look great - the colours and mold choices make for fantastic homages (Roadbuster's backpack is perfect) and I'm about to remove them from their twist ties. Although I've owned Galaxy Force Starscream I've never played with the Cybertron Defense Hot Shot mold. But seriously - for Hasbro - someone clearly put a lot of thought into coming up with a comic that featured Dirge and Roadbuster; a comic that was twenty-two years old. And similarly, they come up with a five year-old comic that features both Ratbat and Springer. And then they put them all in the wrong boxes. I guess it could be deliberate cross-marketing: I buy my set and then read a comic about how awesome Ratbat and Springer are, thus inspiring me to buy their toys. Or it could be a terrible cock-up. Regardless, these are great sets.

I came home from Brisbane today to finally get a look at the Superion and Bruticus sets my GF collected for me from Northland Myer....

The issue was that the superion had been opened, and the figures released.

So she rang me before buying, and i thought of what there should be, and it SOUNDED like all that was missing was one energon star. (we scored it for 20% off!!!)

Stupid me.... i forgot about the little things.... both of the Visors are missing from the "powerglide-ish people", and both the connectors from the other ones fist/hands.....

- Classics 2.0 Stormcloud: great repaint of an average mold that really only works for Powerglide. A lot of effort there and I love the colours.
- Classics 2.0 Bruticus x 2: Wasn't convinced by him but playing with Jaydisc's version of him, in certain configurations he looks very awesome. The disappointment is that the colours aren't as vibrant as they are on the packaging.
- Classics 2.0 Superion: Aside from Silverbolt, Air Razor and Air Raid, pretty meh. The weakest limb was Skydive. That purple is just plain fugly. I have no idea how they could come up with it. It destroys the overall piece. I originally intended to buy doubles of all Classics 2.0 toys, one to open, one for display but finally surrendered. It just doesn't work.

And thanks to the missus to for helping me buy the 3rd Bruticus. I ran out of dough. :o a common thing of late :o. Looking forward to opening him right after this.

Brother dropped off my Roadbuster/Dirge just before and Springer/Ratbat for Iceburn and two extra sets for whomever ends up getting them.

I have a junker Roadbuster I'm gunna transplant the head on for this. Only then can he take a revered spot amongst the Classics. Think oversized Universe Dirge will just go into the main body of the Decepticon army in the Cybertronian Division.

Ahhhh duh me. It's sort of pretty crap then (now that I've actually looked at the pic with concentration) because the bonnet covers half the face. I've owned this guy without the bonnet twice before and now I can see why. The bonnet just gets in the way of a good bot.
