Picked up MP Thunderboy today. Its the same as the other MP Seekers however his paint his beautiful, maybe a tad dark, but still very nice.
Remember that the original Thundercracker had fairly dark blue - and that dark blue was also recreated in the G1 comics. It was only the G1 cartoon which introduced a light sky blue for Thundercracker - which is what Robot Masters Thundercracker has.

Generally HasTak seems concerned with creating a "middle" blue - not as dark as the original toy/comic model and not as light as a cartoon model... I believe it's to appease both fans of the original toy and comics as well as fans of the cartoon.

Classics (Timelines) and Henkei Thundercracker feature a relatively more "middle" blue that is neither too dark or light, although Henkei Thundercracker is lighter than Classics Thundercracker. Here are some piccies for comparison:

I know I haven't actually acquired it yet but I was beginning to become more than a little concerned about a package coming from the US. It had been nearly 3 weeks since I paid for it & still the package hadn't shown up. So this arvo I emailed the seller about it. Compounding my concerns was some recent neutral/negative feedback he'd received...

Well, to my suprise, He replied to my query quick-smart letting me know that for some reason he'd had the package returned to him (customs issues) & that he'd resent it yesterday (along with a tracking number) :).

It's things like this that do a great deal towards restoring your confidence & trust in people :).

I can see why you say it's more show-like but in real life it just doesn't look that great at all. The pic is doing it more justice than it's worth. I was in a similar state with Classics Astrotrain/Henkei Atrotrain so just gave Classics Astro to lcz for some project he was doing, but when it comes to Seekers I can't part with any as I see them as part of a great Decepticon armada and would like to have as many individually painted (and personally named) versions as possible. It was just a case here of who was more deserving of the names Ramjet and Rimjob. BTW...in the Diggerverse, these guys are brothers who detest each other. Ramjet's the older, smarter and cooler one.

Having now opened Masterpiece Thundercracker, I can back up Hpoo - the blue on this toy is a tad darker than the original toy. It's fairly close, and even carries that metallic sheen (which I've always thought wonderful), but is clearly darker. The groin and... pecs... are darker than the silver on his waist, also.

Yeah Tak-Tom QC has dived recently. The last couple of waves of Henkei have questionable QC too. They still invest more on paint finishes than Hasbro but someone seems to have dropped the ball when it comes to keeping an eye out for bad QC.

Picked up Animated Activators from Kmart Victoria Gardens. Prime was the only one scanning up as "Activators 14.99". So I took the other 3 and went to the service desk showing the lady a deluxe (to compare the price and sizes and the name it was scanning up to be) and explaning to her surely that's a price error. She kindly said I can have them for $14.99 each and thus with the 50% off 2nd toy, the activators came up to $11.24 each. Sooo happy... :D Only need to find Ratchet now though.

I did find Ironhide, Sideswipe and Silverstreak at a Big W near us Liege, but all of their paint apps were shoddy, Sideswipe more so than the others. But they still sold in under 3 days. The tf sections across stores seem to be overly bare again.

As much as my wife complains about my spending money on TFs I always assure her that it will never encrouch on our living - i.e.: that she will never have to be compromised or 'suffer' as a result of my hobby. My wife is a full time student atm so I'm the sole bread-winner right now. But yeah... my hobby doesn't effect her. I always make sure that we have enough money for food, bills, mortgage, kitten maintenance and her personal expenses. So any time she feels like telling me that I'm spending too much money on Transformers, I remind her that my TF spending is not effecting her life in any detrimental way. :)

This is an expensive hobby - and one needs to ensure that their other financial responsibilities/obligations are met first. You just gotta budget yourself properly and make sure that you're not spending beyond your means.

I keep telling my wife that as a non-Christian I don't celebrate Xmas and therefore I don't see why I need to buy her a present... but apparently I do (although she gets me presents too). I also got roped into doing Secret Santa at work. Bah humbug! I want lollies on Chanukah... :p

I did find Ironhide, Sideswipe and Silverstreak at a Big W near us Liege, but all of their paint apps were shoddy, Sideswipe more so than the others. But they still sold in under 3 days. The tf sections across stores seem to be overly bare again.

Obviously its the parents buying em off on layby for xmas presents for the kiddies. Well at least they get the first shoddy painted batch. I can wait my turn when the stores are finally not in holiday mode ( but hopefully still on sale) and so are the parents. Then maybe well have overstock on the shelves with them streaks, ironhides and whatnot that weve been missing. It has happened to often that we rush to buy up all these figs so quick then weeks later, even months we see em shelfwarming whereas we had to travel to off the way places before just to locate one. Im not falling for that again. I have patience for now.:)

I'd just like to quickly say that everybody has the right to believe and not believe in whatever religion they want (so long as they're not harming anyone). We should all respect each other's beliefs or non-beliefs. I don't appreciate some people mocking my (non-)religious choices. Kay thanks.

:eek: I had my biggest month on record in November. Somehow I managed a total of 132 Transformers despite being in a busy exam mode in the early half and supposedly broke. :eek: That doesn't even include the other big ticket items like bday presents, new pair of sunglasses and shoes I got that month. :eek:

I'm going to burn this December!
