Hi all,

New to the forum and joined for the explicit purpose to get reacquainted with the Transformers collectors scene in Australia.

Long story short, I've been living overseas for awhile and have been building up a moderate collection of Takara Masterpiece figures since MP10. The majority are HK/Asia issues, with a couple of Japanese ones for good measure.

I'm returning to Australia for Christmas and was thinking about bringing some over to sell in order to make room in the collection.

Anyone able to give me some insight on the following:

- Will I have a hard time selling MP figures in open boxes?
- Do Australian collectors prefer Hasbro MP's over Takara MP's?
- Assuming the same condition, should I expect Takara releases to sell at the same amount as Hasbro releases?

Thanks!

Honestly not sure, I see stuff posted for sale here and on facebook. perhaps have a look through the Transformers club Australia BST group on facebook and see how things move.

Most people I know that are keen pre-order as I do so I'm not really keyed into the secondary MP market.

Could you set up a sales thread now and bring back the ones that have sold? They do sell but it depends on price and people’s circumstances.

New MP figures tend to be in more demand than open boxes. The opened status drops the price a bit.

Australian collectors prefer Takara MPs to Hasbro's. The Takara releases would sell for more than a Hasbro version in the same condition.

You said many are from HK/Asia - if you've got the coins those are in demand from several collectors too and could add some additional value to the selling price.

Thanks for the insights all, much appreciated.

I completely forgot about the coins. I'll have to dig them up.
