I was notified last week that my street now has NBN... finally.

What providers do people here use, and who's recommended for reliability and pricing?

Aussie Broadband for me.

Me too. Get them if you can!

I'm with MATE Communicate and am very happy with their pricing/service.

I have been using TPG for years on ADSL2+ I'll give them a look next year (or the year after) when we eventually get it ourselves.

Like Trent said, not Telstra. Their customer service is beyond a joke, my dad has been struggling with them over having his old internet turned off already and their NBN isn't actually ready yet, for weeks. Even though they haven't turned it off properly because he can still use his landline to call them. He's even had a supervisor/manager hang up on him.

I can't speak highly enough of Aussie Broadband. Not only is the customer service on point, but the speeds are consistent at peak times and they're great about notifying you about maintenance. I switched from Amaysim and quadrupled my average speed on the highest tier plans.

Add another recommendation to Aussie Broadband. I love having an ISP that buys enough CVC for me to have zero peak time slowdown and their Australian support staff are great.

Over on product review it looks like MATE (https://www.productreview.com.au/p/mate-communicate.html)do well in the customer service area and actually care when people put up negative reviews unlike some of their competition

TPG (https://www.productreview.com.au/p/tpg-broadband.html) :p

Telstra (https://www.productreview.com.au/p/telstra-bigpond-broadband.html)

iiNet (https://www.productreview.com.au/p/iinet.html)

MATE (https://www.productreview.com.au/p/mate-communicate.html):)

Remember when Internode/iiNet was the best ISP in the land? That feels like a lifetime ago.

Thanks guys for all of that input... I just signed up to Aussie Broadband, which will take 2-3 weeks to get someone around to set it up (being the christmas period).
The days of 30 Kb/s will soon be over...

Excellent choice. I switched from Telstra to Aussie Broadband 12 months ago and have been very happy. They even call you to put you on a lower plan with better downloads etc rather than milk their existing customer base - I've never heard of a company being so proactive with their customers.

Yeah, ABB has home phone service. We have a landline on along with the nbn.
