TANK MODE

Reminds me of the 1988 Pretenders. Bend a robot over and pretend it's an alt mode -- contortionists in disguise. Megatron's transformation to tank mode is basically playing Limbo underneath an imaginary broomstick, fold the arms in and flip out some panels which fall off ridiculously easily. The exposed legs and crotch at the front end of the tank look quite silly. No turret articulation or working treads... the toy just rolls on little wheels underneath and that's pretty much it. There's no attempt to conceal the hands and the bright hot pink Fusion Mace sticks out like a sore thumb and looks absurd.

ROBOT MODE

Good leg articulation and decent enough articulation on the right arm, but the rest of the toy is pretty bricky. Zero waist articulation, zero head articulation, zero wrist swivels and the left arm is all one solid piece due to the Fusion Mace gimmick. There's a switch behind Megatron's left shoulder, which does look like a pistol hammer which is pretty neat - push down on this trigger and it makes the left arm go up. Release it and the spring loaded arm swings down... and this is meant to flail the Fusion Mace about. The short string means that the mace is more likely to hit Megatron's own forearm than an opponent. Stop hitting yourself.

Thankfully the fusion cannon has no gimmick, but the joint is so loose that it's prone to Cannon Collapse Syndrome. The legs also really needs more black or something to break up all that grey.

Yet another Cyberverse toy whose engineering has been hampered in order to cater for its gimmick. The gimmick is lame and doesn't validate the compromises made to the toy's design. Not recommended.
