This is great for those fostering a 'animation accurate' MP collection I guess. I am really hanging out for some new characters though.

the blast effects are interesting. I wonder if this type of accessory is going to start to permeate through the entire franchise?

Me lol. I want this.

He looks great. Idk if I want to sell my other Bluestreak though. I like the old face sculpt a bit better

Surprisingly a very nice figure. This has to be the most recoloured MP yes?

I already have three Bluestreaks (the toy accurate colours, the show colours and the diaclone colours). Not particularly sure I have any need for a fourth!

I’m not a fan of the matte finish. But I understand that TT are stretching the mould.

This one's in the same category as Anime Sideswipe for me. It's nice but not worth it for me unless I find a massively cheap deal.

It's nice that they actually added some new stuff into the set this time.

Though not sure it's enough for me to want to get another Bluestreak, Wheeljack's been the only one that's tempted me so far.

That looks outstanding. Surprisingly outstanding.

I’m in the ‘too many MP bluestreaks’ camp myself but the colours are just giving me way too many throwback feelgood vibes to not order 😂

Wow I didn't realise how different the paint job was until I saw them side by side. Of course I will be getting this but I really wish they would put our some more Cons or finish up the '84 crew with Jazz, Mirage, etc.

Jazz and Mirage is unlikely because of the licensing rights unfortunately.

If they got Lambo, anything is possible. Money talks at the end of the day.

Basically. TT just need to throw some more money at Porsche and bada bing bada boom MP Jazz etc here we come.

Given that there aren't any Porsche's in the Bay movies even though so many other brands are wanting to get in indicates it's not money because on an international mainstream scale, the Bay-movies are many times larger than G1. It's pretty clear that Porsche want little to do with Transformers.

It's not just money and even then, look at what has happened with TT. Greatly slowed MP releases with very few releases differing from Hasbro. As much as any of us hates to admit it, these are not the signs of a company swimming in cash.

It is always money when it comes to business. Even if the point is reputational, it is still quantified in money. In the end though they secured lambo rights and more importantly not only did they get the VW rights, they must still have it to be pushing out another version of Bee. Given VW is the parent company to Porsche, it seems unlikely it is a reputational or ideological reason to withhold a licence. Therefore, imho, it comes down to money. It is probably just a matter of time.

I don't like the face on this guy TBH. The original headsculpt was better and one of the best in the line I think. Other than that he looks sharp if toon is your thing. I will be happily keeping my original as I have for all the + carbots.

Thread is getting hijacked a little... however, my question is... if Takara has to pay extra $$$ to secure the licence for Jazz and pass the cost onto the consumer would you still buy it if it is a significant price increase...

I am talking MP-36 price for Jazz...

I think that I might :(

And does Takara have the money now? They didn't get the license when they were releasing their own stuff with considerably more MP releases and during Bayverse at the height of popularity, why would they get it now when they're greatly diminished?

I suppose it's not fair to say MP Jazz/Mirage will never happen however I'm being realistic here.

I don't have any of the Z's yet.

So I think I'll have to order this and pick up Prowl+.... My assumption would be that a Smokescreen+ is on the way?

Absolutely a stupid question but what rights do they need for Mirage?

I don’t really see much of a difference between this and MP18 to make a purchase. I’ve found this with all previous MP+ editions and I’ll probably feel the same with future releases.

At this point I’d much rather save the money for Hound and Optimus 3.0.

To be honest, I feel like this new animation-accurate Bluestreak is a step-down from the first release of MP Bluestreak (or 'Streak'). To me there's something about these anime/cartoon-accurate Masterpieces that look kind of cheap compared to the original releases. I guess if you want a copy of the Nissan Fairlady MP mould, and you don't have one yet, this would be a good opportunity to get it.

They look cheap and inferior to the original toy based releases in car mode. But they really shine in robot mode in my opinion. So there's room for both styles on my shelves.

Well then so much for the licensing issues as bumble bee 2.0 just announced
And us finally lemon yellow as it should have.

So wait, this time we're getting matt versions of the exact same colours, less detailing and a couple of different faces and blast effects?

If Targetmaster Hotrod was Malibu Stacey with a new hat, then what would you call this?

Possibly because the toon accurate model/illustrations were quite basic to simplify the hand drawn animation process. That simplified detail makes these toon accurate MPs look a little cheap because there is minimal paint detail.

I call shenanigans on this - in fact Bluestreak was the one character that didn't need a + version due to what had already been released. The first MP-18 was based on the animation deco scheme, while both MP-18S and MP-18B are both toy accurate (the former being mainstream G1 accurate and the later being Diaclone/Early-G1 accurate). This one really does push the point dangerously close to jumping the shark.

Anyone know of a good place to pre-order? Asian retailers preferred.

Robotkingdom never fails but when I tested it out for this one their shipping was hideously expensive. So best either to group in a large order with them or just pick it up on ebay when it's released. I order from ebay sellers Toyspark or freemantoys when ebay is running a site wide sale. They are both based in HK and are large, reputable sellers that pack well etc.

Wow, yeah, yikes. Thankfully OhMyPrimus has put it up for the same price but with much more reasonable shipping.
