I saw stills yesterday and thought the design of one of the new robots was feminine and now I’ve watched the teaser and know for sure.

So basically it is like Animated, with a blending of homages to previous eras, with the main focus being on the Original Series. I guess there is nothing to stop new series from doing that... being a proper blend of characters from past eras... as we are probably used to a new series just focusing on characters that only homage Original Series characters, and maybe having one or two brief cameos or flashbacks of others. As such, it's forced them to focus on the newer characters (Drift, Windblade), instead of giving equal coverage to existing non-Gen1 based characters.
Cyberverse - the first season was pretty much a neo-Gen1 cast and concepts.
Prime/RID - primarily Gen1-cast and concepts, with any primary characters that weren't, being original (not from other previous non-Gen1 eras). Bulkhead is an exception, but he was originally created as Ironhide, but renamed Bulkhead because it was so similar to the recently used Animated Bulkhead character.
Prime Wars Trilogy (if it counts as a cartoon) - pretty much just featured Gen1 characters and current new characters (from toys and comic).
That covers the last 8 years of Transformers, which is pretty much the recent memory of most current active fans, particularly those who have come in since the Movie era... which also featured mostly Gen1 characters and concepts or new ones. Hasbro and its sponsored cartoons don't seem to like tapping into eras for characters and concepts that aren't Gen1... so seeing non-Gen1 elements taking a prominent role in season 2 of this year's cartoon, is quite refreshing.
