Obscure Combiner Wars custom

Everyone knows Half-Track (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Half-Track_(G1)), the Battle Squad micromaster combiner, right?

Tired of being a laughing stock, Half-Track sought a body upgrade to be totally self-reliant. His new body retains his combination powers.

It's a repainted Onslaught with a Scattorshot head and rsome spare Combiner Wars rifles I had.

The rear treads are from a G1 Twin Twist. The arm posts were almost a perfect fit for Onslaught's wheel sockets. I miscalculated where they'd be in bot mode so he has to hold a dynamic pose now.

For the gestalt I trimmed the chestplate wings off. The gestalt head is from Combiner Wars Inferno, but the top half is from Titans Return Sky Shadow (I destroyed the original top half when trying to make a Monstructor head).

I don't have a name for the gestalt yet, but it reminds me of energon Barricade.

Very good. What made you decide to go with a different colour scheme to his G1 incarnation?

I was using his DW guidebook art as a reference, which I guess is slightly different than the toy (I don’t have the actual toy)
I added some colour to his torso because I thought at voyager size the all-black torso was a bit plain and needed some features... unless there’s something else I’ve misinterpreted?

TLDR: artistic choice :p
