Toymate for Toowoomba QLD opening August

My wife saw a sign at the Grand Central, Toowoomba, shopping centre while there today and as frequent travellers to their Robina store needless to say we were shocked. She messaged their Facebook page to confirm:

Probably won’t be much use to Brisbane-ites, Robina will still be closer, but good to see expansion is still happening and great news for us!


(Toowoomba was lucky enough to score a Toys R Us late in their life but it was situated fairly inconveniently at a homemaker centre away from the city centre, Toymate are taking over a former Rebel Sport site (they relocated) in the main shopping centre so should secure plenty of traffic).

Yeah, a shame about it not being in Brisbane, but good news for those in and around Toowoomba. Toowoomba has about 130,000 people, so having a second dedicated toystore shouldn't be a problem (it shouldn't squeeze out Toyworld).

Is it in an actual shopping centre, or a stand-alone building (as your wording suggested)... because Toyworlds inside a shopping centre seem to do a lot better than ones ones on-site but outside the main centre.

Toyworld in Toowoomba is stand-alone in a home maker centre, Toymate will be inside the main shopping centre when it opens.
