John Bove colourist posted up a double pager he coloured for the Simon Furman/Guido Guidi Transformers 84.

All I can say is Woah! Can't wait for this and I hope it gets continued more than the single issue.

And yes, that is who you think it is.

Another preview of this new comic series that starts next week (https://news.tfw2005.com/2019/08/16/idws-transformers-84-0-sneak-peek-394668)... which looks to be stories set on Earth before they woke up in 1984.
This preview has a feel of the UK story "Iron Man", which was set in the middle ages as well.

Who do I think it is? Obviously Optimus Prime, and I see Wheeljack Perceptor and maybe Hubcap. Who are the others?

Not Hubcap. Others I can see are Crumble, Quickmix and Erector.

*sigh* If only Phantom Zone Parramatta hadn't closed down. :(

Heh heh, he said Erector!

It'll be on comixology or you could buy it digitally from IDW itself.

The art is great, but the story...

Could we stop Simon Furman revisiting the US Marvel comics from now on?

Can you imagine, after Jonathan Hickman was finished with the X-Men he decided to pitch a TF story arc to IDW? I'd be all over that. House of X and Powers of X is very good.

I read this today. Pretty happy with it actually. Great classic Marvel storyline, very clean art and tugs on all my nostalgic levers.

I've just read it. Man, you're a hard taskmaster. Not sure what you were expecting from a single issue.

This was awesome, waay better than the 9 issues of the main comic we've got so far.

it had lore, it had underutilised characters and it just as strongly stood on its own as it did fit in with the original marvel series.

Loved it all round.

I'll wait a week before anything spoilerish unless people don't care...?

I was going to wait a while before I posted my spoilery comments - given how little reaction this thread had.

My main issue with this comic is a pretty big spoiler!

I found it boring. The art was awesome and on point but that was about all I had in the ?really like? column. I didn?t care for the medieval setting for parts, the story itself was minimal and did it add anything to the whole g1 theme? Nope. Fun but barely worth reading as it contributes not much.

Start up a review topic in the review section, and spoiler away... for others here to read up on the specific details (like spoilers) that might make it worth chasing it up.
