Just picked up Unicron. Packed inside another brown box with handles. Easily fit inside the boot of Rav4. Box was smaller than I anticipated. Can be carried by a single person :)

Picked up Unicron from Zing. Bigger than expected and heavy to, only just fit in the front door by a few centimetres. Had to use a shopping trolley to take to my car, to bulky to carry through a shopping centre, had to put in back of car, to wide for passenger side, put the seats down, and also will obscure rear view vision. If someone catches you bringing this inside your home just tell them you bought a brand new office chair 😉

Ditto with every part of your post. It was a bit close getting it into the car. Just put him together. I'm totally in love with Unicron.

Haven't unboxed Unicron, need to find a suitable place for him. Which mode is best for Unicron, Planet or Robot? Both looks great. Leaning towards Planet Mode more.

When you guys unbox your Unicron, look at the last page of the instructions before you start. Hasbro has basically forgotten to tell you how to put the stand on Unicron, so you need to look at the instructions in the back of the manual on how to remove the stand and do them in reverse. If you do what is at the start of the manual you risk breaking your Unicron.

True, but I don?t think there?s much interest in Australia....there?s certainly no action on eBay Australia. They?re going crazy for it in the US though.
No listings on eBay Australia as of now. Maybe people are just waiting to pick them up before listing them.
I was thinking that if you have the money and the space, you could pick it up, and if you don't like it or otherwise can't keep it, you can always sell it.

Spoke to Zing Perth CBD today, Unicrons enroute to that store were dispatched from their distribution warehouse 25 and 26/3/2021 but are yet to arrive.
Based on the fact that stock dispatched 24/3/2021 (not Unicrons) landed at Zing Perth CBD today it is likely Unicron will land tomorrow (7/4) / Friday 8/4).

I was told my Unicron was dispatched on 25/3 too and they we?re hoping for it to arrive by the end of the week (EB Ocean Keys). Anyway, got a call a couple of hours later to say it was in. With all the hassles other folks have had getting it in their cars, I?m glad I?ve got a ute and that it?s not raining! ;)
Unboxing shortly...
Edit: forgot to mention that the shipping box says it is to be delivered on 7/4, not before, not after.

I was picking up my mail this afternoon, and as I was walking through the shopping centre I saw a courier walk past with two big plain brown boxes on a parcels trolley, and a familiar looking artwork peaking through the hand holds... I turned around and followed, and sure enough, he walked into EB Games and dropped them off (apparently dropped off five at this store, with two being mine, and one being Ravagecat's - I sent him a text straight away, and he picked up his this afternoon as well).
It's good to hear that quite a few people got theirs today as well, after so many months of waiting.
As I had guessed, Wednesday was an estimate, and some stores would get them today, some tomorrow, and probably some on Thursday.

What are the chances of being able to layby Unicron at a store like Zing Garden City? The person buying it off me is able to pay now but wants more time if possible.

Here is a video that explains how to install the stand without possibly breaking your Unicron. Note that the flap on the bottom should go inward, not outward.

As mentioned the other day, if you have any issues with your Unicron (minor or major), post it up here before you go back for a refund (and be left without a Unicron if you can't afford the secondary prices), as there might be someone here (or on our fb page) who may be able to help if it is a construction defect or paint issue (like one of the resident customisers).
If you are missing something, also let us know, as that might be something that Hasbro Australia may be able to help out with, but it might take a little while, as I have been in negotiations with them to make sure that they don't throw away any returned defective Unicrons that EB Games has refunded (and they then got a credit/refund from Hasbro). As soon as they get some returns, if they can't be fixed for resale, I have asked them to salvage them for spare parts for those missing items, or unrepairable parts.
Hopefully we don't get too many with significant problems here.
(just be willing to accept minor issues that don't affect the transformation or are too noticeable when on display, as a return of the toy to EB Games will most likely only give you a refund, not a replacement... and I don't want anyone regretting a refund if they then can't afford another one from somewhere else)

I picked mine up from Rockingham Zing this arvo and snuck it past the Office of Home Affairs as she was at work ;) They had four there delivered and all four have been picked up.
But I am going to sell it as I dont want it anymore and I didnt want to cancel it either and I was going to keep it sealed but now with possible missing parts, I might have to open it and see if it is complete.

That's a major fail that Hasbro's instructions do not properly explain how to install the stand. It just suggests you plop the toy down on it (and you definitely do not do that!). Good thing we have youtube.
Another question - many may have forgotten but we were promised a unicron comic when the campaign started getting desperate - it looks like no one got it?

It was a digital comic bundle and seems to have been only for Hasbro Pulse backers in the US. Was sent to email addresses November 2019.

Just got back from picking mine up.
Ended up being lighter than I expected it to be.
But my god! The box.
So big...
Ended up not fitting inside the car....
Had to take it out of the box in the car park
Flat pack the box
And sorta force the styrofoam insert through the door
Took like 10 minutes and a lot of trial and error and disbelieving giggling
But it?s home now.

Yeh I got caught out too today picking mine up. One fit in the boot of my RAV4 but because I had my family with me (we were already out) I wanted to sit with the 2nd in the back seat but it wouldn't fit through the door. So had to make two trips but got there in the end. Haven't opened one yet but have the week off so will have some time to get it set up.

Loaded it into my car with no issues. Hatchbacks are great :)
No headless horror story here. All present and correct, nothing missing, nothing broken, and I've transformed it. Damn those are some sturdy clips and ratchets. Definitely had a bunch of "oooooh" moments.
All in all, very happy with my new toy :)
Yes, how to properly attach it to the stand should be front and centre in the instructions. That was poorly done, as were a couple of other points in the booklet. Hasbro will Hasbro, I guess...
Was anyone seriously after that digital comic?
And now a sprog has set up camp in the empty outer box...

Well I feel a little less foolish then. I have a decent sized ford falcon, and while there?s plenty of room inside the car its too big to fit through the bloody doors.
Zing were really nice about it and let me park it back in the store, so I?m having to get a friend with fold down seats and a big boot. I actually didn?t think about dismantling the box, but am glad that I waited. I am going to have to do some serious rearranging indoors though if I want to fit the rings on Unicron, but will cross that bridge later once he?s home safe and sound. First world problems, lol.

Just wanted to let people know, as I asked at the store today - you have 7 days to return it after you have opened it, if it has something significantly wrong and you prefer a refund.
After that, it could be like games & consoles, in that it could be more difficult to get a refund or replacement after that, as it it could be claimed that you had enough time to find something wrong and could have damaged it yourself.
Australian consumer law covers defective items, but there has to be a limit to the amount of time you take to find out that an item is defective, and I guess EB Games limits theirs to 7 days due to most of their sales are computer games and consoles.
(not defending them, just passing on what I was told - but I would imagine that people here getting Unicron have waited almost 18 months for it and spent nearly a grand... it would be unusual to just leave it sealed in the box for more than a few days, even if it is just to have a sneak peek at the awesomeness)
It took me two trips to get my two home, as I could only fit it through the front passenger door of my car... just. The back doors and boot were too small for a commodore sedan.
I'll wait until the weekend to open them.

Thanks for the links on how to do the stand, etc. The instructions definitely needed a bit more work.
Also in case anyone has limited space like I do, the legs on the stand can be taken off by unscrewing a small screw underneath. I took off one to fit on my display and it seems sturdy enough. Better than going without a stand.

Why would everyone want to murder them? Lots of people missed out due to the short time to purchase etc. Heck, I didn't even know EB was stocking it otherwise I would have one. I am under no presumption or expectation that they would do it today, or tomrorow, but possibly in a few years. I doubt they would let that mould go to waste.
And yes.. Im not paying scalper prices for it. As much as I'd love one, I can easily pass it up at over $2k + postage.

Yeah most Transformers news sites, which at the time I wasn't following. I only saw the US announcement pre-order with no news of an Aussie list.
Anyways, it was a "hope" and not hating on anyone who has it, or complaining I missed out, im happy for everyone he is an amazing figure - I dunno why I feel like Im having to defend myself over a "hope" for people who missed out and the attitude I am getting because of it.

Opinions may change over time though. You might not have wanted one then but after seeing 1+ years of news about it from production shots to final shots, it may have changed your mind. I didn't order one but seeing members starting to gets their now and how excited everyone is, I feel like being swayed into the hype, but then I have to remind myself I didn't want to spend nearly a grand on one figure (no matter how amazing the character or figure is).

Sorry, I came off really mean in my post and that wasn't my intention.
I can certainly understand if you weren't initially interested or unaware of it happening at all but more info or even the show changed your mind although I personally would've put down the $100 deposit anyway since you could always cancel.
Heck, I originally had 2 but cancelled one and selling my other one to someone who missed out.
I just find it hard to sympathise that much with someone who knew about, wanted it but missed the Australian preorders when you could do a Google search to confirm whether it was coming here or not.

And yes, as it turns out I did change my mind. I will keep my Unicron when it shows up to me. :)

That's the fun fact.. I did. There was no planned release or release date for Aus with no indication it was coming. And it was not that I didn't want it, nearly every site at the time said it wasn't coming and unsure if it ever would to Aus - that was until at some point EB picked it up.
Further to that, unlike a lot of people here collecting for years, I only just got back into it in Earthrise. I missed all of Siege except the few rereleases in the last few months. In fact, Unicron would have been my first Transformer in over 25 years I would have gotten had I found out it was an EB release. But not being in the scene, or collecting, with what information was out there, kinda hard to "KNOW" what is happening.
I think you just underestimate there is more reasons than you think there are as to why someone didn't pick it up. Nor was I asking for any sympathy or anything. Just a mild hope. We miss enough Transformers as it is in Aus (so I've found out), and I definitely wouldn't be saying the same to anyone who misses out on releases we don't get or are in limited supply.
Anyways, thats enough of that. Moving on! Should I desire one that bad I will be going after market, otherwise I'm happy to sit around and wait and see if they do a reissue in the future or miss out. As I said, im excited for everyone here who managed to get one, he is a damned fine figure and impessive. I am definitely not condeming or hating on anyone who got one or more! Good on them :)

If you don't get yours by tomorrow, probably best to contact EB Games through their website to get a status of yours.

The EB Games option was announced quite late in the campaign, as I recall. Or at least I saw it only late in the campaign. I was not at the time a member here (wasn't even aware that this place existed), and could easily have missed it in the Haslab Unicron thread over on TFW2005, which was generating dozens of pages each day.
I think that people who keep up with all the latest news very easily forget that not everyone knows what they do, or knows how to find out what they don't know.
-edit- Hell, I only spotted the Unicron campaign itself when it was half over.

Also keep in mind that some people are only new to the online fandom like this site, since Unicron was listed (which was only for a month or two in late 2019)... like the person you were replying to, who only signed up here a year after Unicron was available... so if they were a regular on a "global" fansite, the local release may not have even been mentioned on those "American-centric" sites.
Even though we got a really good number sold in Australia, it was because we were one of the few countries that didn't have to pay the full amount up-front, but it was still almost a thousand dollars on (just) a toy... and that was hard to justify to a lot of people, especially those who are married.

Griffitn raises a good point. Because we?re all hard core plastic addicts, we probably check the toy and transformer websites on the daily (or is it just me that has that morning ritual?)...... but there?s a whole world of collectors that are only in the very early stages of addiction, and might only have discovered transformers by chance while walking past a toy isle with Siege or Earthrise (or through Netflix). To those I would say ?RUN WHILE YOU CAN? and go cold turkey, or you just might find yourself crazed enough to pay nearly a grand on a toy (sight unseen) that will be released in 18 months time.
Some people too lack the finances (or are more sane than we) to commit to such a huge purchase... even though it was just a deposit, the bill comes due eventually. Or they may have had little disposable income at the time, or a better half that would chop off their bollocks when they eventually brought Unicron home. For those with regret in their heart for not signing on, I suspect there will be a few people looking to offload their unicorns in the not so distant future. And for those thinking ?Kuching? and looking to profit on the secondary market consider this: the truly ridiculous secondary market prices paid at the moment for them will not be sustainable, many people will be burnt and left holding them, and it should come back to a (slightly!) less insane amount. And if you want to offload yours, its likely to be a pain in the proverbial to try and arrange shipping for it: Australia Post ain?t going to accept a parcel that big.
If anyone does consider offloading their?s later (for whatever reason, including threat of divorce proceedings or maintaining testicular integrity) consider advertising it in the sales section, and offer a reasonable price. You just might be able to help a fellow trans fan out like Dogboy.

There have only been two sales on eBay Australia, both around the two grand mark but best offer was accepted for both, so don?t know what they really sold for.
I can?t believe anyone in their right mind would pay anything close to that. I don?t think it?s even worth the regular price.

Most people wouldn't, and judging by the measured posts I've seen here, I'd say you would have a hard time finding the people who would care in Australia.
But if you care to venture to the dedicated thread on a certain other site, you will find some rather unmeasured people getting very worked up about the prospect. There are always a few, and you'll find them crapping on threads around any such project.

Shrug. Horses for courses.
Had I not got one through EB, and then seen the videos I've seen (and probably the ones I've not bothered watching), and particularly if I were in the capitals and could maybe see one in person... I dunno, I might splash out.
The thing is, I've become aware over the last decade or so that I have quite a bit of disposable money, and that I'm pretty well off. Not rich (few people think of themselves as rich when they are, but I have a very firm idea of what rich is and I'm not there), but comfortable, and better off than a lot of people. I grabbed a few rather expensive toys from another member on ebay the last couple of weeks, at prices I might not have gone to a couple of years ago. I figured I wanted those, and they seem uncommon, so let's just do it. And even there I ran into a limit for myself, and a couple of things got away at prices I wasn't willing to match, which kinda surprised me, because I generally operate these days on the principle of "really, actually, want it? Then whatever it takes".
So I reckon (finally getting to the point here :) ) that if there are people who are willing to spend even more than I am, and if I could give serious thought to paying the prices for a second-hand Unicron, then there will definitely be others out there with more means and more willingness to spend for the things, and who would think it worth the price.

Here is a video that explains how to install the stand without possibly breaking your Unicron. Note that the flap on the bottom should go inward, not outward.

Also I just noticed Page 31 of the manual has what should have been at the start of the manual which is the step by step of the stand.

It still doesn't show how to put the stand in (ie. open up unicron's bottom half and fold flaps in a particular way).

If they re-release it they should make it significantly different from the initial release and not include the accessories (which were stretch goals for the crowdfunding).
Maybe they could do it in Energon colours? :P

Would you call them scalpers :P

No. The word that comes to mind is entitled. Also, fandumb (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FanDumb).

Just one, in West Lakes. Huh. I go there (well, not this year or last...) for a holiday each January; wonder if it'll still be there next year? I mean, Shintokyo in Adelaide had titans that didn't move for several years, so... :)

Those would be cancellations... they would have needed to wait a bit first to make sure all orders were delivered and exchanges were covered.
