View Full Version : My first fan forum: Good morning Oz!

Hi Guys, I'm not really sure how I should start writing my intro. I may already have read intros of some Ozformers before as I've been a frequent visitor for a couple of months now, however, I was hesitant to join because I'm afraid that I may not be able to regularly post much in the discussion threads. This is my first attempt to interact in a TF forum as I've been just complacent reading news and articles from different TF fan websites. And besides, my english grammar sometimes doesn't cooperate with me. My accent could be quite distinct as I still carry my strong native tongue from the same roots of liegeprime, optimus1, and komikskolektor. Mabuhay po sa inyong lahat! :)

I've been in Melbourne, or I may say, in Oz for only about a year now. And yes, I love Australia! And I liked it even more when I found that the TF community here is so much very active - thank you Ozformers! I eventually decided to join the group because of two things - 1) Transformers & 2) Lego - which apparently are my two most favorite past times. My "hobby in collecting TF" (translate: too much window-shopping and few buying) only started in late 2006 when I unexpectedly caught classic starscream in the supermarket. As a loyal G1 fan, I'm really glad they appeared in retail because prior to that, I knew I couldn't afford to buy those expensive collectors' series (http://www.toywiz.com/trreja.html). I once have some original G1 figures but they didn't lived that long. I've been obliged to share my toys with my younger siblings which apparently are not careful enough even to keep their limbs together.:( I'd always have to remind them that only legos are to be dettached and not the transformers.:D Well, those were the times. Now, I may have accumulated probably around 40 TFs - some classics 1.0/2.0, some cybertrons, a 20th anniv OP, two alternators, one ultimate BB, three leaderclass MovieTF, some G1 key chains, and my growing animated figures. No legos yet but keen on having a collection set in a relatively distant future.

As for the chosen nick, I just reminisced that wheeljack was my favorite G1 cartoon character simply because he is the "scientist" that I know (correct me if I'm wrong). Such a shame I became an engineer - not a robot inventor. Have no clues if there'll be a classic wheeljack but I'm definitely grabbing one if it comes. I just hope that the alt mode would have the same vehicle type and color as the original G1 - I wish.

Hope that this self-intro suffice. Have a good week ahead!:)

Actually, Wheeljack is an engineer (a mechanical engineer to be precise), not a scientist! Check it out! (http://www.tfarchive.com/toys/techspecs/original-era/1984__Wheeljack_(1984).jpg) :) The two Autobot scientists are Perceptor (http://www.tfarchive.com/toys/techspecs/original-era/1985__Perceptor_(1985).jpg) and Flame (http://s90690880.onlinehome.us/jhiaxus/ukcomics/flame.htm) (no relation to the Autobot Motorvator of the same name (http://www.tfarchive.com/toys/techspecs/original-era/euro1991__Flame.jpg)). :p ;)

Thanks to all who welcomed me today. Its my real pleasure on board.

Do post pics of your collections TF

I took some shots of my current figures-on-hand. I don't have shelves for them yet so I just keep them inside plastic boxes (as shown). While released figures are temporarily placed inside drawers (also shown). I'm planning to keep them that way until such time that me and my wife could move into a more spacious house.

The first pic is my incomplete classics figure, except for vector prime and OP.
Second pic was my starscream (It was taken from me by a crying 4-yo boy - a family friend);)
Third is my TF keychains. I have 11 of those before (now 7) but no BB.
Pic 4 & 5 are the cybertrons.
Pic 6 is the only two alternators I have.
Pic 7 shows my leaderclass movie figures and BB - I don't remember I bought Evac.
Pic 8 & 9 is the movie magic stickers I bought for 75 cents. (I thought this counts):p
Pic 10 is my current universe figures.
Pic 11 is my current animated figures.
Pic 12 is the box I'm talking about.
Pic 13 & 14 shows how I keep them inside the drawers.
Pic 15 was taken last year before I moved to Melbourne. I ran out of boxes for UM, skywarp, starscream, and metroplex so I have to pick them up this December in time for our christmas holiday.

So those were my humble possessions, Liege. I didn't imagine myself owning an entire room of transformers like some of the deluxe members here.:o Since my thirst for TF can easily be quenched by just looking at your galleries, I reckon I'm satisfied that way.:)

Thank you for the compliments Iceburn, STL, and to everybody who extended their warm welcome. I really appreciate it. :)

Geez, still no match. ;) My field is chemical engineering... Well, at least another thing I like about Wheeljack is his uniquity - an autobot with flashing ears, mouthguard, shouldercanons, and backwings. :)
Thanks for that enlightenment Gok! It helps a lot having a sensei in the community - another good reason for joining Ozformers!

Ooh I know who's a chemical engineer - that new figure in the classics 2.0 Ultra - cement mixer - he's demented though heeheh I think Mixmaster is a chemical engr. as well, but he's nuts also.:D Nice collection Wheel-J ...... looks like you need a cutter hehehe as Soundwarp would have said OPEN OPEN OPEN!!

As far as the Autobots go Pincher is a chemical engineer.

I must insist! Cutters have to wait until I complete my wishlist..:) I'm keen on taking a souvenir-group-foto-in-case of them first before their grand opening day!:D

As far as the Autobots go Pincher is a chemical engineer.

Oh please... not "pinchee"! :D

Nice collection too hope you will come to a lunch meet in the city sometime :D

Thanks k.wong. One of these days I definitely will. I'll make sure that I keep my nose under the melbourne lunch thread.:)

I suppose Wheeljack is kind of an engineer-he did build the Dinobots, after all.

...only in the cartoon. And he had help from Ratchet. And as DrSmoov pointed out, they both did a pretty bad job of it! :p
