Does anyone know if to recieve express post you have to be home and sign for it or if they just put it in your mailbox?

thanks in advance

express post will always be need signature. if you're not home, it will be carded and sent back to the post office. it's unlikely that the postman will leave it in your mailbox. if he/she does leave it in your mailbox, you can go complain

Express does not require signature. Having worked in a PO I know this for sure. The reason it has a tracking number but no actual signature required is b/c Australia Post only keep track of -when- it arrives (ie. the next day guarantee) and that creates the confusion that ppl go tracking no. = registered = signature. I think it's pretty stupid but I guess its their way of making the service look good until you receive something that literally is tucked around the side of the house or inside the garage or behind a pot plant.

The Platnium expresses though do have signatures required cos they're both registered + express. Pricey though.

I've had all my packages delivered to my P.O. Box for years now & the PO has always signed for everything :) (sorry I can't help you a whole lot... :o)

Got fired for focussing all your attention on TFs & not on actual work, Ay? :D

Australian Express Post = No Signature
Express International = Signature

It was actually for hitting on too many customers. :o

Express International = Signature

I should add that the reason for that is b/c Express International is the US equivalent of EMS basically. They're not the same thing as Australia's Express Post system whcih I find to be very deceptive.

I've had it with these EMS people.

When they cant finish their day's run. They just put attempt to delivery failed in the tracking. i.e. you (the receiver wasn't there or some other problems like insufficient address details).

I had someone at home all day today waiting for the parcel.

You pay for premium service i.e. excessively expensive postage.

And they cant even be bothered to deliver the parcel.

Same old crap all the time.

"insufficient address details" do they need me to standoutside and wave a flag???

jgon..usually that appears when they couldn't have time to send your parcel.
they have not upgraded their system to say "awaiting or delay sending"
so they scan as attempted delivery which infact is at the warehouse/storehouse still to be delivered 1-2 days later

wrote a letter to ask them to upgrade but they didn't reply
then one day (after 2-3months), they called me on my mobile and apologise and told me why
