Expected, but it's good that it seems to be bigger and not a clone.

It is going to be costly though. Expect a larger price tag than cheetor. Accessories will be interesting. I thought they might go with Ratrap next or maybe a Predacon. Interesting choice.

I was hoping for Silverbolt to compliment Black Arachnia, but I'll take any Beast Wars MPs I can get.

Awww...the fact they actually made a new mold puts this into Want territory, but super-long odds I'll have the funds for it when it comes out. :(

Dayum... you can pick up Cheetor for like US$80. I think I paid $95 AUD back in the day. Over $330 AUD for Tigertron. I mean I know it's bigger but really...

As noted above, the retail price will be a whopping 24,000yen, which roughly converts to AU$330... for something that appears to use most of the engineering and upsized parts of Cheetor.
It's about 50% bigger, but 300% more expensive.
I just don't get what TakaraTomy are doing lately with their prices for MP toys. I think they see what people are willing to pay for those recent licensed non-convertible action-figures and statues (often $200-600), and believe that if they are happy to pay that much for those, they'll be happy to pay more for a transforming toy.

I'm going to pay it, but I'm certainly not happy about it.

I think that there will be many of this with the exact same thought.

Why do it then? Serious question.

Why do it then? Serious question.
Because if I don't pay then I won't have all the Season 1 Beast Wars toys on my shelf one day.
And yes I know I could buy the vintage Beast Wars toys, but I don't like most of them.

And thats why they charge such exorbitant prices. Because they know we will whinge and complain about it but in the end still buy it.

That’s right. Takara does t care if you hand over your money with a smile or not. At the end of the day they still have it. And we don’t need these. I think it’s just proof of how addicted to consumerism we are. We know it’s not worth it. We know the development cost can’t possibly justify the price, but we pay it anyway.

I don't really collect BW MPs, but if I did, I'd probably wait and get a LMIB Tigatron for half RRP. That might be the way to go if these prices keep spiralling upwards.

Looks good but damn that is expensive!!!!
Thankfully Im not collecting Beast Wars. MP Transformers are getting to a point where I myself cant justify the prices they want for it.

Given the size of Tigatron is a little smaller than Dinobot I guess I can see some logic in the price compared to Dinobot's price.
At least Megatron is already on my shelf and he is the largest season 1 character in size. So hopefully, that means I won't have to shell out that kinda cash on an MP ever again.

Short of getting good early bird price, I pretty much wait for MPs to have second run or buy a 2nd hand one these days as the prices are getting too high for me to justify. Saying that the releases that interest me are usually so far apart a small saving of RRP is usually good enough.

Do you think they will do rattrap and rhinox? Or are those figures in the box suitable placements so hasbro says no to MPs?

This just looks absolutely beautiful and may just be the bot that cracks my "no Beast Wars MP" rule.
Although in saying that, i might just wait on a used and loose piece waaaaay down the track as I'm not gonna spending that kind of money on a figure of that size.

The use of the real tiger head for the chest catches my interest more than Cheetor's fake chest head.

Tigatron is available for preorder now! he costs a bit (~250aud without shipping) but he's a must have for me.

More official images for Tigatron from a couple (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/03/03/beast-wars-masterpiece-mp-50-tigatron-new-stock-images-407511) of Japanese sites (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/03/05/beast-wars-masterpiece-mp-20-tigatron-additional-stock-images-and-release-date-407590) including Amazon Japan (https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B085F64GBM/).
It doesn't come out until September 30th.

I assumed the Megatron head would just be static but the way people are talking about it sounds like it might actually be rotatable like the virtual puzzle in the cartoon.

If you zoom in on the second last image on the amazon listing (https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B085F64GBM/), you can see the side of the Megatron head is off-centre and other visible join-lines, so it does look to be a moveable puzzle like in the cartoon.

Savier's Toys has 1 preorder left but not too sure how much it'd be in the end. OMP also has it on preorder for 230 SGD + shipping

I asked EB Games call centre months ago. They told me they were not getting it.

Correct, MP Tigatron wasn't coming to Australia through Hasbro Australia.

Box image for MP Tigatron tweeted out by TakaraTomy (https://twitter.com/TF_pr/status/1307838032821645312/photo/3). It is scheduled for release this weekend, so in-hand images should have started showing up by now from toy dealers in Asia who should already have it ready for release.

I'm much more interested in this than Cheetor. The use of the tiger head for the bot mode chest has won me over.

Some written thoughts on this are beginning to leak out from the people who have got it ahead of next week's launch - apparently this shares 0% of engineering and parts with Cheetor. I'm surprised, and intrigued.

If Tigatron is completely different to Cheetor, and doesn't have most of it just having upsized parts, that would be nice, but I think unnecessary, as the original Tigatron was just a white Cheetor toy, and since they shared the same form in the cartoon their Masterpiece toys need to reflect that cartoon similarity, as accuracy is the point of Masterpiece toys.
Another image released by TakaraTomy (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/09/24/transformers-beast-wars-masterpiece-mp-50-tigatron-production-sample-images-420208), and it should be out by now.
