"Interesting" is the word... How can VTOL fans work under the tail-wings

Very nice find Kurdt!

It's possible they perform these mould changes to keep Hasbro/Botcon ppl happy.

I think Thrust is misstransformed. He should have the upper little wings up like a regular seeker.

Otherwise both are great!

Those wing patterns.... not a fan, but I'll still get them so I have the full Classic & Henkei sets of seekers.

kup
13th November 2008, 01:39 PM
I don't mind the wing patterns on Thrust, it makes it look unique. I prefer the Botcon wing remold but this isn't bad.

Dirge is the real winner as Botcon was just a straight repaint. Its also possible that Botcon Dirge could fall in price and Henkei would take its place as the more in demand figure reaching greater prices on Ebay once current stock is sold out.

I submitted it to TFW2005 but credited you and OzFormers. I didn't know you're a member there :o

Theory with Thrust's wings is that maybe the VTOLs can detach from the rear wings and peg into the holes on the top of the main wings. That would be cool if true

Thanks :) And NICE spot! I was wondering what that additional plug on the main wings was for! This makes good sense and makes Thrust much more desirable for me now.

The white lightning bolts on Thrust's wings seem a bit strange, and the placement of his thrusters, but overall they look pretty good

*pats Kurdt on the back* :)

What's the deal with covering-up Thrust's VTOL propellers in jetmode? The VTOL propellers are what distinguish him from the other seekers?! Are they ashamed of them or something??? (Or is it all about making him different to the Botcon one...)

Yeah, they have to distinguish the wings from the Botcon set. Speculation is that the thruster parts can be detached from the rear wings and attached to the holes on the top of the main wings, unconfirmed currently.

The Ganbo Store Blog (http://ameblo.jp/ganbo-store) has also updated with the same pics prior to being 'shopped out of their backgrounds. A rough Google Translate isn't revealing any confirmation on the VTOL part switching but they do seem to make mention of the oddness of their placement, suggesting to me at least that they didn't show the correct placement in jet mode on purpose, to see if we could guess :)

Excuse my crappy photochopping:

Looks much better if true.

And if so then they can be put on the bot modes upper wings.

Hey looks pretty good to me the closet I'l get to the Botcon version if you compare the toys I like the Henkei coloring more because you can see the face alot better. I dont know if the final product will be the same color and plastic but from the pictures the Henkei version looks like a really solid matte color and the Botcon version has a more shinier look.

I can wait for these but Id try and remove the stripes if I can. I also think they added these so you can distinguish them between the Botcon version that way everyone can complete their seekers and the people who have Botcon sets still have a uniqueness to them. That way we're all happy :)

To Gok or somebody who can read Japanese: I've been told that these are released under Gentei! Gentei!, like Wildrider, and the images says so right there. Since I can't read japanese...

FFN, that appears to be correct.

Here's a different photoshop... sorry Tober, i couldn't resist :)
The VTOL's break up the wing camo detailing quite nicely!

but can see the peg hole is meant for that.

WOW, they look fantastic in colour. Even Dirge who is quite boring really compared to Thrust and Ramjet. Very interesting patten on Thrust and I'll echo the odd placement on the VTOL's

nice to see these aren't straight repaints of ramjet. The wing mods really make these figures unique.

Dirge looks fine, but man, they f'd up on thrust big time. Sacrifice jet mode to look like a gundam in robot.

When you put the thrusters on his wings instead of his ankles he looks fine.

IMO this Dirge is a better mould than the Botcon one because of the wing shape. Just don't think much of the stripey stripes.

I hope they are about $100 each, that would be the max id pay for a deluxe rare figure like these

ordered mine from Singapore (actually my mum did).
It's SGD$135 for both, but immediate payment was needed to secure purchase.

If the VTOL parts can be moved onto the top of th wings then I'm guessing that the guns can be moved under te rear wings:

I saw it posted on Seibertron, and just got my wife to confirm.. Ganbo-Store blog (http://ameblo.jp/ganbo-store/entry-10164701777.html) has now confirmed the parts can detach, and the fan can actually be manually spun!

Totally awesome. I've always considered Botcon Thrust to be my favorite Classics seeker, but this looks to top the cake.

liegeprime
16th November 2008, 06:50 AM
What jaydisc said. When I look at Botcon Thrust now, it got me thinking indeed that this is nice since the wingspan is much longer and doesnt look to compressed. I just hope the initial photos though were mistransformed and that the final really is that of the Photochoped ones by our members, well with these toys I find that never believethe initial photos as "final product and photos may vary" has always been their motto. BUt I do hope its a positive variance rather than a negative one. Segway - need to learn using photoshop , its wasted on my PC as I dont know how to use it heheheh. :p

Well, seeing that the news now says that the turbines are detachable and can be attached on either wings or tailfins AS WELL AS that the turbines actually spin independently, AWESOMETACULAR!
