For those who pay for Netflix, this new cartoon will be available from June this year.

From the Hasbro presentation at NY Toyfair (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/02/22/transformers-brand-information-from-new-york-toy-fair-2020-hasbro-pulse-livestream-406026)...

Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy: Seige

FJ De Santo from Rooster Teeth gave use some details on upcoming Netflix Animated series. He mentioned that the characters are based on their G1 iteration, but the show will challenge the viewers on what they know about these classic characters.
The story will be set in the final hour of the Cybertronian civil war, where Megatron is trying to take the Allspark off the planet.
De Santo also mentioned that the character designs are derived from the CAD design files from the toy line, and their transformation in show will resemble the physical toy.
The show is handled by Polygon Pictures Studio, who worked on Transformers Prime and Transformers RID
A special Generations War for Cybertron line will be available through Walmart (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/02/22/new-york-toy-fair-2020-transformers-generations-war-for-cybertron-netflix-images-406206). Each Deluxe figure will come with one piece of Teletran 1. There are 10 in all, and you can complete Teletran 1 if you collect them all through out the year.
There are 2 Voyager release, Megatron and Hotlink, each will come with 2 battle master size figures. John Warden mentioned HotLink comes with the Firetwins
A Netflix special “Spoiler” box is announced. The box comes with one leader size figure, which contains spoilers from the show. John and Rachel caution from opening before watching the series, and joked about spoilers online.
Mentioned about the stories being told through various upcoming IDW comics series

A link to the official images of the first batch of Walmart toys (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/02/22/toy-fair-2020-transformers-war-for-cybertron-earthrise-official-images-406205) (which I will mirror here as soon as I post up the news postings). Since they said that there are 10 Deluxe toys in this exclusive line, we are only seeing the first five, so more are to come.

- A very minor redeco of Siege Hound (probably with black scorching battle damage like the others here)
- Siege Sideswipe with scorched battle damage
- Siege Chromia with scorched battle damage
- A Decepticon Mirage in a grey/purple deco
- Scrapface (a blue/red/grey redeco of Refraktor)
- Megatron 3-pack - Siege Megatron with a darker deco and battle scratches, packed with two redeco Battlemasters.
- Hotlink 3-pack - a purple/black redeco of Siege Starscream with two redeco Battlemasters that are twins
- Ultra Magnus Spoiler Pack - just a photo of a box with "spoilers" written on it, so we have no idea what is in it, other than maybe a redeco Ultra Magnus and something that would be a spoiler to the Netflix cartoon. It looks like the Walmart product page for this toy has already spoiled what is in it, and after watching the trailer, it's contents should be a redeco Ultra Magnus with cloak.

Teletran 1 is a cardboard diaroma like the Studio Series backgrops. You can see a piece of it here (https://twitter.com/LogosMinor/status/1231459164540542976) from someone who got one of the Netflix series toys at the Fair.

The timing seems way off. Ideally the show would be airing while the Siege toys were the current toyline, instead of having to re-release many of the Siege toys again a year later with slightly different paint jobs. And if the 2021 Netflix season 2 is Earthrise we'll see it happen again.

That's very disappointing its cardboard and not a plastic BAF. I really would have loved to have an 'official' Teletran-1, but the expense of rebuying all ten Siege figures for what are minor reprints would have made it a tough judgment call (if we even DID get the Walmart exclusives here). So this saves a lot of money for other toylines, and good luck to anyone who likes them, but I do rather hope we don't get stuck with them as pegwarmers. Siege is already stinking up retail shelves as it.

Here's a better image that shows what it would look like assembled (https://twitter.com/roarworthy/status/1231309864628039680).

One of the slides I mirrored from the presentation showed the completed Teletran 1 diorama (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php/26986), and it looked like cardboard sheets because of the bend in some of them.

Not sure if going even harder on the battle damage is quite what fans were after, but it's there for fans that want them I guess. Disappointing that you have to buy them to get the Teletraan pieces. None of them are very appealing. Hotlink maybe but he has too much crap.

Apparently the Comicbook.com site has revealed (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/02/25/netflixs-war-for-cybertron-siege-official-synopsis-series-will-run-6-episodes-406951) that the three War For Cybertron cartoon series, will only be 6 episodes each, of around 20 minutes per episode... making each of the three chapters about 2 hours long... which isn't much, particularly if it is meant to be advertising toys.

Maybe all three series will be released within a 12 month period, as it has to catch up on Siege first (in June), and they would want to have the Earthrise chapter screening before the toyline ends at the end of the year, with the 3rd chapter of the cartoon released at the beginning of next year if they want it to sell that next chapter of toys.

From the same source that let us know how many episodes were to be screened, we get the voice actor cast listing as well (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/02/26/netflixs-transformers-war-for-cybertron-series-reveals-main-cast-406992).
No one really well known, or had any significant prior involvement with Transformers.

Jake Foushee as Optimus Prime
Jason Marnocha as Megatron
Linsay Rousseau as Elita-1
Joe Zieja as Bumblebee
Frank Todaro as Starscream
Rafael Goldstein as Ratchet
Keith Silverstein as Jetfire
Todd Haberkorn as Shockwave, Red Alert
Edward Bosco as Ultra Magnus, Soundwave
Bill Rogers as Wheeljack
Sophia Isabella as Arcee
Brook Chalmers as Impactor
Shawn Hawkins as Mirage
Kaiser Johnson as Ironhide
Miles Luna as Teletraan I, Cliffjumper

At first I was optimistic because the animation and quality looks better than prime wars, but when I heard they were only doing 6 episodes my heart sank, it seems like they haven't learned anything from prime wars.

6 Eps per short season.

I am hoping, as someone said above, that the short seasons and episode amounts end up bringing the show up to the same timing as the Earthrise figures are out.

The titans show suffered (from being boring) as it was using old toys, kind of defeating the purpose. Same with his Siege show (hopefully minus the boring).... I say rush this out with a decent short set up season(s) and lets get to the good stuff in Earthrise!

It is just a slightly recoloured Siege Ultra Magnus toy, and a Siege Rung toy in a new colour.
It also appears to have some Energon Cubes buried in some putty... which seems a bit weird.

I'm so disappointed with that Ultra Magnus. I was hoping for a premium paint job, at the very least with nicely done battle damage, not just a very dirty deco (Delta Magnus would have been nice but it was a pipe dream). If it had appeared a couple of days later I'd honestly have thought this was an April Fool's.

Looks like Japan will be getting the Netflix toys, with the first two showing up as pre-orders on various sites for September... and not as TakaraTomyMall exclusives either (considering over half of the Earthrise toys are limited release TTM exclusives, the odds of the Netflix redecos being released in Japan were slim, particularly as regular release toys at that).

War For Cybertron Series (Netflix series)
- WFC-01 - Mirage (https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B086QSB6VC/) (DLX - same as Hasbro version?) - SEPT 26th (3000yen)

Seeing the reviews of the Netflix redecos, I'm super hyped for the show and the toys-Megatron and Hotlink to me are instant buys... and after watching reviews, The Impactor redo (Scrapface?) and Sideswipe are also looking pretty nice too.

Still not even close to sold on Hound though... and I agree I was kind of hoping for a Decepticon UM or something, that would have been interesting

Here's a nice gallery of photos of the entire first wave of the Netflix toys (https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/in-hand-images-of-netflix-wave-1-deluxe-figures-shows-scrapface-in-camera-mode/44736/), including three Scrapface toys combined as a camera.

I don't know why I never thought of it, but since it is a redeco of Reflector/Refraktor, is anyone going to be buying 3 of them to make the camera mode, or just get one and only see it as having a spaceship mode that just looks a little like Reflector in bot mode (a bit like the Clones having identical bot modes but completely different alt-modes).

Not sure if all the figures in this series are like this, but seems like Hasbro has started with the plastic packaging reduction-only 1 tie on Megatron's sword (hurraah), rest was held in by the plastic insert. None at all on the Hotlink set.

That?s really strange Dimi. The Hotlink I bought tonight had several of those stretchy plastic ties. I didn?t have scissors and had to bust him open with my wee fingers.

Can I ask, did your Hotlink include part of the Teletran-1 build a set? I was surprised to find mine did not, but maybe it?s only packed with the deluxes not Voyagers?

The netflix cartoon has been delayed from it's June start due to the corona virus (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/06/17/netflixs-transformers-war-for-cybertron-delayed-413029), as it was planned to be released globally at the same time in different languages... but the re-dubbing wasn't completed before everything in the entertainment industry was shut down. Just a warning for those looking at buying the Netflix toys - get a good look at the toys to make sure they are the correct ones, as it is easy to just quickly grab a full set by focussing more on the names on the box or the toy moulds inside the box, and maybe not noticing the deco version at first. We don't really have much "repacking and returning to stores" here in Australia, but in America it is noticed a fair bit, and since the Netflix Deluxe toys are in the same size box as the Seige/Earthrise toys, whole inner trays have been swapped out to get the new one with a different deco (https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/worst-repack-jobs-in-the-wild.1145427/page-48#post-17879449) (post #955 if that link doesn't send you to the right page). Further on in that topic, it was noted that someone else found the Netflix Voyager boxes with Siege versions of Megatron and Thundercracker swapped into the Megatron and Hotlink boxes (no photo), while another person found a Hotlink box with a TF2 Deluxe Soundwave & a Tiny Changer & POTP Pretender shell (post #979 (https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/worst-repack-jobs-in-the-wild.1145427/page-49#post-18068880)). That last one is pretty obvious to us collectors, but if a store staff member didn't notice or care, it could be a problem if you have a relative or friend grab you something based on the name on the box.

btw, this toyline is officially known as "Trilogy," not "Netflix."
https://tfwiki.net/wiki/War_for_Cybertron_Trilogy_(toyline)
Yeah, I know that the nickname that everyone's been giving it has been "Netflix," but just pointing out that "Netflix" is an unofficial nickname for the line, but the toys are officially called "Trilogy." This is similar to how...
* Some fans refer to the 1998 Japanese Beast Wars toys as "Beast Wars II" (often misread as "Two" instead of "Second"), obviously because the cartoon that those toys appeared in was called "Beast Wars Second."
* Some fans refer to the 1999 Japanese Beast Wars toys (aside from BWM) as "Beast Wars Neo" for the same reason as BWII.
* Almost every Anglophone fan referred to Transformers Car Robot as "Transformers 2000" even though neither the show nor the toyline was called that.

I'm not necessarily bagging out fan terms. After all "gestalt" and "Generation 1" are fan terms (and Generation 1 became an official term in 2000), but just saying that it is officially called "Trilogy." Hence why the review thread for Trilogy Scrapface (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php/27251-Toy-Review-Scrapface-(Trilogy)) is called that, and not "Netflix." Carry on. :)

To me it looks like it is called 'Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy', which is going to make things confusing very quick as both Siege and Earthrise toys are under the 'Transformers War For Cybertron Trilogy' banner.

Some fans also use the terms 'RID 2001' and 'RID 2015' to differentiate those series from each other, which are pretty well accepted. Calling these 'Trilogy' toys 'Netflix' makes it easier for everyone to quickly get their point across.
If Hasbro wants us to use their official terms I feel like they need to try harder. :p

You, and whichever fan last updated the WFC page on the tfwiki fan-run site can call it "Trilogy" if you want, but this site will adhere to the official Hasbro series name, which has "Netflix" in the title.

As this was already discussed before on the 26th of June (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php/27241-GEN-Netflix-wave-1-now-out-at-Kmart?p=628242#post628242) and forgotten/ignored, let's go over it again... because, newsflash... tfwiki is not always right.

Not according to Hasbro...

E9489 TRA GEN WFC NETFLIX DELUXE
E9490 TRA GEN WFC NETFLIX VOYAGER BATTLE COLLECTION
E9494 TRA GEN WFC NETFLIX LEADER UNBOXING COLLECTION

If that's what they are officially called by Hasbro, that's what they will be officially be called here (unless there is a double up like RID and "generic" Generations).

Besides... look at the Siege and Earthrise packaging - ALL of those toys are "War For Cybertron Trilogy" toys, so we need a sub-line or prefix from the packaging and product listings (Netflix) to distinguish this Mirage, Sideswipe, Chromia, Megatron, etc from the other WFC Trilogy Mirage, Sideswipe, Chromia, Megatron, etc.
(if you label these Netflix toys as Trilogy toys without "Netflix", then you have to label those other toys as Trilogy toys without "Siege" or "Earthrise"... and that just gets really confusing)

And to add to that, to prove that tfwiki is wrong... the official product press release (which I had to copy here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php/26986-Hasbro-NY-Toyfair-live-streamed-presentation?p=622084#post622084), while BWTF is currently offline), says as the series name... and I quote....

"Generations WFC Netflix Wave 1"

Not only is the toyline OFFICIALLY named by Hasbro as "WFC Netflix", and has three size classes that Hasbro has OFFICIALLY used the words "WFC Netflix" in them... it is still tfwiki that is right and Hasbro is wrong?

Even the in individual product names in the press release by Hasbro, doesn't match up what is on the tfwiki page.
The press release notes each toy with the prefix of "Generations War for Cybertron Series-Inspired"... where "Series" is referring to cartoon series, not toy series. Even though the cartoon is using Siege toys in this chapter, these "Series-Inspired" toys are specifically cartoon decos toys.

Look again at the press release. Each toy in each series and sub-series, has that series or sub-series as the prefix right before every toy name.
- Bumblebee Cyberverse Adventures
- Generations Selects
- Studio Series
- Generations War for Cybertron: Earthrise
- Generations War for Cybertron Series-Inspired

Since we call the "Generations War for Cybertron: Earthrise" toys as just "Earthrise", the same should be done to give us, "Netflix" or "Series-Inspired".

This means that tfwiki should be calling the Netflix toys as EITHER just "Netflix" or "Series-Inspired" under the main series heading of "WFC Trilogy"... NOT "WFC Trilogy" (which would make it WFC Trilogy WFC Trilogy as it's official name).

Let's take a quick look at what TakaraTomy offically calls them... it's either "War For Cybertron (https://takaratomymall.jp/shop/g/g4904810167082/)" or "War For Cybertron Series (https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B086QSB6VC/)", which is again, referring to the cartoon "series" like the Hasbro press release. There is no "Trilogy" anywhere in either of the main Japanese listings for the tfwiki to be referring to either.

Remember, tfwiki is run by fans, not Hasbro.
And unless Hasbro has named something in error (the occasional name-swap or typo), this site will always try to stick with official Hasbro naming... and only refer to fan-run sites like tfwiki if the official source can not be referred to at that time.
(feel free to let them know at the tfwiki that they are officially wrong if you like, and show them the proof so that they can fix it)

As a side note - if this had been a situation that had Hasbro recycling a series name (like RID and Cyberverse), this site will differentiate between them if possible, like referring to something like the year of that series... or the size-class or mould if there are multiple (Bumblebee) toys in the same toyline.

We need to make things easier for future visitors and users in the reviews and news sections by planning ahead with what will make senes. It would be like having every WFC Megatron toy just called "WFC Megatron" here... that wouldn't be much help to anyone.

(in case you missed the news posting (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php/27312), Ultra Magnus is being held back for the Christmas sales)

The Netflix WFC cartoon is being released in quite a few countries, in quite a few languanges, and info on the Japanese dub has been revealed (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/07/14/netflix-war-for-cybertron-japanese-promotional-clip-dub-information-414680), showing that there are a number of voice actors on the project who have done voices for Transformers before.

Optimus Prime – Tessho Genda – The original G1 Convoy/Optimus Prime voice in Japan.
Bumblebee – Ryohei Kimura – Well-known for Japanese Transformers fans as Bumblebee’s voice in Transformers Adventures (RID 2015) and the Bumblebee movie.
Elita 1 – Kikuko Inoue – Veteran and famous voice actress. The original voice of Kasumi Tendo from Ranma 1/2 and Belldandy from Oh! My Goddess. She dubbed Zizza in Transformers Adventure (RID2015).
Megatron – Houchou Otsuka – Another veteran seiyuu and the memorable voice of Jiraiya in Naruto. He has voiced many Transformers characters in the Japanese G1 shows like Ultra Magnus, Ranger (Masterforce) and Guyhawk (Victory) among others.
Shockwave – Chafurin – Voice of Cicadacon in Beast Wars and Octopunch in Transformers Adventure.
Jetfire -Kenji Nomura – Jetfire’s voice in Revenge Of The Fallen is coming back for War For Cybertron.
Ultra Magnus – Kazuhiko Inoue – The voice of Micronus in Transformers Adventure (RID 2015) now comes as the big and tall Autobot warrior.
Starscream – Setsuji Satou – He voiced several characters from the live-action movies (like Mohawk) and Transformers adventures.

There is also the trailer for the Japanese version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwfC6Zic_4o), which has a couple of differences to the scenes shown in the American trailers.

It did. There was basically a cameo appearance for another Siege Leader toy in the last episode. It’s a random enough appearance that it could be considered a spoiler for the toy purposes.

The second wave of Netflix toys are not due out until October 15th in America (and that would be the month of global release), but someone has already been buying up samples (which would have to be stolen stock), to review on youtube... which is probably monetised, so I won't be posting up links to the actual videos, as it would be sending more money to people chasing up these toys, and create even more competition.
I can show screen shots on an unrelated site though, for Bumblebee (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/08/06/transformers-war-for-cybertron-deluxe-class-bumblebee-in-hand-images-416581) and Elita-1 (https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/08/06/transformers-war-for-cybertron-deluxe-class-elita-1-in-hand-images-416700). I?m happy with static images and what has been shown Officially. The monetisation of Youtube content bothers me greatly when they?re using stolen prototypes or marketing samples.... if they?re marketing copies that have been sent out to toy reviewers (as often happens with certain toy lines) that?s very different to someone sneaking one out from the factory, etc.

I've been following news in Singapore where Soundwave/Optimus have been out since at least mid October. The Soundwaves quickly disappear. The Kmart exclusive model in Australia has generally soured the Netflix line for me. I've never seen a Bumblebee on the shelf - always the first to go (like Soundwave will be). Fortunately I had an extremely helpful staff member who went to the back and reserved one for me when I phoned. Otherwise, I would have missed him. The deluxe figures in general have been out of stock in the 6 or so Kmarts I visit (and some of those are in big shopping centres). Only the very outer suburbs have plenty of stock. I suspect the scalpers are buying Netflix up. So do I expect to see a Netflix Soundwave? No.
