Batman: Arkham Asylum on PS3, bloody awesome game.

I AM THE NIGHT!!

Agreed :D
Got it on 360 and it rocks, but little gripe cos I got the collectors edition, and the game isn't in a regular case like most but a cardboard slip thingie, so if I want it on my shelf in a hard case I'd have to put the HUGE box in

Batman: Arkham Asylum on PS3, bloody awesome game.

I AM THE NIGHT!!

My copy (PS3 version also) arrived from VGP today and I can't agree more! It is just so well paced, so well thought out...And some of the set pieces already...Holy cheeseburgers with guacamole, Batman. Everything about the game is AMAZING.

Also received the fantastic David Lynch film 'Lost Highway' on DVD from my good pal, Stompy. I've been trying to track down a copy for a while now and Stompy managed to find a copy for me, 2 disk special edition no less! Thanks again, mate. :)

Finally, after years of searching for it at second hand game stores and the like, I now own Robotech Battlecry for PS2.

I passed it up at EB alot, it was $70, I thought that was too much to pay so I waited for it to come down in price. It never did and I never saw it again.

Massive thanks goes to Paulbot for selling it to me.

I don't like either of the sequels, however you might like RoboCop 2. For me that film's only saving graces are Peter Weller and terrific stop-motion animation.

RoboCop 3 really sucks. Not really worth the time.

Channel 7 are showing RoboCop 2 tomorrow night at 11pm, so you've got a good opportunity to check it out.

He wrote the original screenplay, but a lot of it got thrown out in rewrites by other writers. The final film didn't have much resemblance to what he wrote.

Thought it was pretty woeful to be honest. I ended up turning it off about 20 mins into it and played Batman: Arkham Asylum instead. :p

You're thinking of the 4-part miniseries called "RoboCop: Prime Directives". It was made and released back in 2000 and was friggin' awful. Worse than RoboCop 2 & 3.

There won't be any new RoboCop films next year. MGM do want to make a new film (a remake of the original), but no scripts have been written yet nor has anyone been officially signed to make the film.

Atleast you have an FTO still - I sold mine a while back. Biggest regret I have to this day as I have yet to drive a car that rode as well and handled as well as it. Even bigger regret is that I heard the new owner apparently wrote it off a couple of months later. :( But you can't put a baby seat into a 2 door (well, not effectively anyway). Looking to buy another one once I purchase a new house with a double garage and will be starting from scratch. Thinking of the D-cuartro kit on a Version-R. :D

With all the cash floating around from sales, I decided to splurge again and get myself an iPod Touch.
I was originally just going to get an 8GB, until I read that that 32/64GB versions had the faster processor like the 3GS iPhones..

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/nz-kiwiman/Hauls/ZipposSeptember2009Haul09.jpg
So I blew thge budget just a tad and got a 32GB, with a free (crappy) power charger and discounted screen protectors.

And pictures of the assumed computer.
Not 100% happy, as the modular power supply (made by the same people who made the case) has very short ATX and ATX_12V power leads meaning I could not go behind the motherboard as planned.

As for my most recent non-tf thing of note, probably my new phone.

I got sick of my LG chocolate running out of battery power every two days, and this is with a "new" battery too. I figured the only way to get a decent battery life is to just get a new phone. So I got a nokia 3120 for $99. Freaking bargain. USB data cable is on it's way from ebay for it too. :)

Dead space! what a great game! dont you like the controls on PS3? it took me a while to get used to them.

I found the PS3 controls too sluggish for a game as intensely action packed as DS. Another thing that annoyed me was the size of the text when it came to reading ship logs etc.

I'm glad to say the PC version resolves all these issues I had while looking much nicer at the same time. The controls inparticular are as smooth as silk now and aiming is so much easier it's ridiculous.
Note: For those who haven't but intend to play the PC version of Dead Space be sure to turn off V-Sync as there is a bug with the game that causes sluggish controls when it's enabled.

PC version of Dead Space running at 1680 X 1050 with all details on max. So realistic you can smell the blood. :D

Turtles in Time was on SNES and its f'ing expensive (there was a TMNT 3 on NES called: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project, I've never seen a copy and can only assume it sells for a high price)

I played the demo for the new DBZ game on PS3, looks great but its basically a new Tenkaichi game, so nothing ground breaking here.

It's a $50-$60 game in terms of worth, its not super long to finish the story mode, but if you want to unlock everything it'll take you quite some time.
Voice acting and audio is top notch, and its very pretty, yet stays in the Toriyama art style, once you get over the problems with jumping, its a pretty solid game.
Certainly a nice change up from all the boring fighting games they have been pumping out.

I have a US PS3, so far there are no region free Blu-ray players.

http://www.pioneer.com.au/Products/Car%20Entertainment/CD%20DVD%20Players/DEH%203100UB.aspx

I only paid $250 for it though. And I installed it last night. Works a treat. Even came with a 2gb red pioneer branded usb stick. :)

It's a very clean and minimalist button unit. The rotary control works like a hat switch.

Oh yea baby.

My first time out to a boxing day sale. Got to chermside at ~8am, went to kmart, too long a line to just pick up a freaking $39 phone for my uncle, so we headed on down to jbhifi. Waited around until 9, it was packed outside the store by then, I was near the front though, doors opened, my uncle went off to get a $44 nokia phone, and I headed straight to the TVs and was the first to get a Toshiba 46rv600a for $1181. Oh hell yea. 46 inches of screen there.

I then spent all afternoon moving furniture around and constructing the new stand we bought a few months ago, and the current result;

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l186/mv75/Image0038.jpg

It was fun to put the box in my car, I had to remove the back seat and it just fit then. So I left my mum at the shopping center, took myself and my uncle home then I went back for her. :D

Oh yea, ejector is scheming to assimilate the TV set..... he thought I wouldn't notice him there. I'm watching you you little bugger.

Wow, what I'd give to relive playing those games for the first time...Due to the themes used in the original Silent Hill KCET (the dev team) had to make the story even more ambiguous than most Silent Hills (making it pretty hard to fully understand). Silent Hill 3 aims to better explain the events in the first game so I highly recommend playing 3 after the first game. I also recommend playing SH2 and then 4 directly after, reason being that 4's story builds on a sub-story from 2. However you play them, I hope you enjoy what I believe to be the most adult, thought provoking and fascinating games around.

When should I play Silent Hill Origins then? (Haven't bought this yet and I've read that it's a prequal to SH1?). I'm also after a component cable for PS2 that isn't some 3rd party piece of crap if anyone has an official Sony one...

Play it after 1 & 3. Play it first and you'll probably give up on the series...

Why do you want to waste money on a Sony component cable? Just buy this http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-n-49-en-70-1b4.html for sub AU$7. It will do the job perfectly well for a fraction of the cost of the official Sony one.

Belkin PURE AV - 16-Gauge High Performance Speaker Wire (30.5m)
Belkin PURE AV - Subwoofer Audio Cable

I'm drooling just thinking of the Arnie nights already. :D I've been listening to some music and the clarity from the Energy speakers is just out of this world. Listening to a recent fave song 'The Lotus and the Robot' by Hatchback blew me away inparticular as every time a new element is introduced into the song it's from a different direction and with such clear sound...Time to go fiddle with it some more I think, haven't even tested any PS3 games with it yet!

:D For those who haven't bought this yet, please keep this in mind...

From the IGN Akira BD review:

"An insert inside the case informs consumers that 5.1 Dolby TrueHD English track was recorded in 48 kHz/16 bit sound and doesn't produce the hypersonic effect as heard in the Japanese TrueHD track in 192 kHz/24 bit audio. Basically, they're saying (and our direct comparisons confirmed it), that the original hypersonic Japanese TrueHD track simply blows the English one out of the water. Hearing to the two tracks back to back is like the difference between hearing a wild party next door and being smack-dab in the middle of that party. Just listen to the rhythmic drums that break the silence in the opening sequence. The rumbling, resonant sound will have your eardrums humming. And it only gets better from there. The bike chases will knock your socks off. The explosions will blow the roof off. The moving score blends seamlessly into the sound effects with startling directionality. Seriously, even if you're not a purist and you hate reading subtitles, do yourself a favor and listen to the original Japanese track at least once. This is as good as sound gets."

You're a bit of a soundtrack buff eh SGB?

I love 'em. My two favourites are the Aliens and The Crow soundtracks.

How hard was it to track down RoboCop?

Not really a soundtrack buff. I just like the music heard in the films I have the soundtracks to.

I love 'em. My two favourites are the Aliens and The Crow soundtracks.
My favourite is the "Superman: The Music" set, which features the complete and uncut soundtracks to all four Chris Reeve Superman films. An absolutely superb set and worth every freakin' cent.

The Supergirl soundtrack, by the late Jerry Goldsmith, is another favourite of mine. It, in my opinion, is his best work, and the wonderful "Flying Ballet" track is the best piece of music he ever composed.

One of my other favourite soundtracks is Masters Of The Universe. La-La Land Records re-released it in complete form about a year-and-a-half back. I was one of the lucky 150 customers to get the soundtrack signed by it's composer Bill Conti. :D

How hard was it to track down RoboCop?
Not very. Intrada (re)released the RoboCop soundtrack only a couple of weeks ago, so it's very easily obtainable. I purchased it from ScreenArchives.com (http://www.screenarchives.com).

If you're after the RoboCop soundtrack, get Intrada's release as, unlike previous releases by other labels, it has the complete score.

Finally watcherd it today, yea, it's not too bad a movie. Went for ages though. Mum got totally into it, she cried and everything. And the fight at the end, she was shouting "you bastards!" I picked up Dead Space: Extraction for the Wii from Kmart for $25.

The first dedicated shooting Wii game I have and I quite like it. The playing style - you see the game entirely through the eyes of the character you're playing and it's set more like a movie than a game - is unique amongst the games I have.

It's a prequel but I think the first is available only on gaming systems I don't have... unless there's a Playstation One version out there :p

And I love the ending to Chapter 9. Spoiler: you have to cut your character's arm off

5.5 is a "fine minus" but it is a good one at that.

i was looking a couple of grade 6's but some of them had marvel chipping which isnt considered for the grade of the comic as many copies came out like it and because of that the cover doesnt look as nice but a 6 grade may have white pages where as mine is white to off-white pages, so like to think its a nice comparimise considering how much i paid for it.

im thinking of opening to read it and to actually have a look at the stan lee signature but then it will devalue it as it wont be cgc sealed so i might open it read it take a couple of pics and then get it resealed

That sounds awesome man. Having almost completed house renovations myself, I understand the excitement. I was going to go for fixed shelving in the new room which would sit flush with the walls, but then I thought if we ever do sell (which is unlikely), the idea my not appeal to potential buyers unless they are collectors themselves.
