I believe its the regular with the alternative as a bonus feature. I'd like to see both versions released on the same disk, there are more differences than just the ending.

Really? I thought it was just the ending. What other differences are there?

Edit:

Just found there are 4 different versions :confused::confused:

There are four different versions of Army of Darkness: the 96-minute director's cut, the 81-minute U.S. theatrical version, the 88-minute international edit, and the 88-minute U.S. television version.

It has the theatrical ending, though the alternate (original) ending is on the disc as an extra feature.

That's the version of the DVD my dad has, the American release of the DVD had that as a bonus feature. I like both endings, but I think I prefer the one where he sleeps too long, then has the insane evil laugh afterwards.

I've seen 3 cuts of the film.

The DVD/HD-DVD/ Blu-ray cut.
The book of the Dead Edition on VHS with the alt end.
The standard local release VHS had some different lines.

The biggest changes I remember (other than the doomsday ending) were:

the line "good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun" changed to "I ain't that good"

Extra nudity when evil Ash tongues the chick.

When ash gets the long face after being sucking into the fake book it takes longer to shake it off.

Yes I actually remember all this crap. Probably some other changes too, can't remember all the specifics.

Blasphemer  Steven Seagal will hunt you down :p

I am a huge Seagal fan (got an autographed photo hanging in my Transformers room with his Nico action figure on display) but I can understand this sentiment. His first 10 films - mostly through WB, were awesome. The stuff he churns out now as direct-to-DVD are mostly B-grade at best. You never see him fighting from the waist down anymore cause full body shots are done with a stunt double, and his voice is either completely dubbed or dubbed in sections. Having said that though, if you think his last 15 movies sucked, have a listen to his CD :D

I used to be a huge Seagal fan. I still watch his old movies (even though he is a little bit big I do enjoy his work with Keenan Ivory Wayans in The Glimmer man) Above the Law, Out for Justice, Hard to Kill (even though his character has the same name as a porn star) and Under Siege are all classics. I even like On Deadly Ground, Fire Down Below and Under Siege 2 but the new stuff that the "Jowls of Death" releases is just a grade baloney and I can't enjoy it:(

How good is the Glimmer Man! That is hands down my favourite Seagal movie. I'm surprised that so many people I talk to have never seen it. When they ask 'what is it like?' I tell them the best way to describe the movie is a cross between Out For Justice and Se7en. I tell you what though, it was the first time I'd seen him smile in one of his movies and that just freaked me out. Not as bad as watching him run though :p

Soniq QPB302B blu-ray player from JB Hi-Fi for $99. A surprisingly decent unit. I purchased it solely because it's blu-ray (and DVD) region settings can be changed by remote, allowing me to play any Region A BD discs.

If anyone wants to purchase this unit for the same reason I did, make sure that the serial number's first seven digits are P36TF5B. Research I did last night showed that units that starts with any other serial numbers (apart from P36TF5C allegedly) don't allow the region settings to be changed.

Thanks for the tip. Not a bad price for the unit. Something we are looking at when the time comes to upgrade our TV and player units.

But I'm sure there would be a way of making it region free. My dad found a site that unlocks any DVD player (well probably not all, but most) and there is probably a website for Bluray by now. But I could be wrong. Haven't been looking for them yet.

No problem. Only downside is for the blu-ray region settings you'll need to change it each time you load a different region blu-ray disc. That's a small price to pay though.

My research shows that the BD region settings on most blu-ray players can't be changed without physical modification to the hardware. Pretty unfortunate.

I have about 100 cels to date. The bulk of them are He-Man and She-Ra cels because cels from both shows are relatively inexpensive and easy to get.

You can see scans and photos of my cels here (http://sgbozman.rubberslug.com). I haven't yet uploaded pics of the cels I got today; that'll be done next week when several more incoming cels arrive on my doorstep.

All the cels are currently stored in a box. I intend on storing them in art portfolios once I'm able to find suitable and inexpensive portfolios (something that's been a pain since there are no art stores near me, and portfolios sold on online stores are either too expensive or charge insane shipping costs).

Nice shoes. Please explain to me how they have gone from orange to white?

The shoes are coated with 3M reflective coating, which makes the shoes go white under bright/correctly angled light. Its similar to the coating used on street sights so they almost glow at night.

Also, they did it to match real life "creamsicles"

I have been collecting a few items over the last 14 days or so:

Colorado Boots reduced from $159.00 down to $59.00. I am going to be replacing the laces with gray flat laces.

I don't have a PS3 and have no idea if region coding can be circumvented on that unit. Sorry.

Best advice I can give you to somewhat resolve that problem is to purchase the Soniq QPB302B blu-ray player from JB Hi-Fi. It only costs $99 and is region-changeable via remote, allowing you to view any region disc. I have this unit and it's a decent one.

Be sure to get one that is serial numbered P36TF5Bxxxx (xxxx denotes random digits) though, otherwise you'll end up with a region-locked unit. I have heard that units serial numbered P36TF5Cxxxx are also region-changeable but I can't personally confirm this. Avoid units that's serial numbered P36TF5Axxxx as they're definitely region-locked.

Hope that's of some help.

Very Nice! ;):D

I've downloaded the series myself, recorded from HDTV. ;)
Just out of curiosity sake Big Penney, do the DVDs follow the Original Airing Order? or the Intended Narrative Order?

I ask because if you read here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_X-Men_episodes), it turns out that the original airing order causes the whole TV Show's story to become completely broken and fractured as certain episodes from season 3 were held over until season 4 and 5, whilst entire blocks of episodes were aired back to front with others!, so it'd be interesting to see how they've ordered them on the DVDs. :D

I spent 2 & a half hours renaming and re-ordering 3 seasons worth of video files to follow the intended narrative order, now I've just got to find the time to watch them all again, the proper way. ;):p

I'd say get one now from the Voltron.com webstore (http://store.voltron.com) as it seems they're still offering free shipping for both Shoguns.

That's where I purchased the Shoguns from, and the free shipping saved me $75.

(I thought the free shipping ended Jan 11, but the webstore shows an end date of Jan 1, but the free shipping still appears in the checkout process)

Cheers dude, I love ID4 (Saw the Australian Midnight Premier at the now defunct Regent Theatre in Wollongong) and this big guy is pretty sweet but is horribly let down by what is honestly piss-poor engineering - His photo-sensor gimmick is nice though. :o
I have indeed considered putting glass doors on my cabinets but the problem is that I'd then have to anchor them to the walls of the house - Plus the cost of glass doors isn't too cheap either but the idea is certainly still in the cards. :)

It drives much better than a BF. Trim is substantially upgraded and the panels seem well put together.

Got car tinted this morning.

Overall its great fun to drive. The supercharger whine is good. It’s got a bi-modal exhaust and other nice features such as Ipod connectivity. It’s still in break in mode so I cant hammer it. It’s raining today so the road might be a tad slippery!

What a beauty! That's one seriously gorgeous looking car. Colour me jealous. I'm so glad to see cars like this in this age of economical electric wimpy cars, give me a car with balls.

You forgot to take a picture of the goodness under the bonnet! It'd be all clean and perfect too.

Nah mate, no Decepticon logos.

Although it was was - it would be the Aussie version of Megatron!

Wow - GT-P vs SS.

That is a huge difference in specs.

I owned a 2007 BF2 FPV GT and decided to get a new one.

I did look at a HSV GTS/Clubsport R8 but couldnt buy a Holden! Also this new engine pretty much creams all the Aussie variants.

FPV have discounted the F6 to $59,990 driveaway now due to the popularity of the supercharged V8

yeah it was just to save a few $$ at the end of the day. Looking to offload it at the end of the year and get a trusty old sr5 hilux. Or possibly a 2012 collorado chev import thingies. We test drove a few HSV's too but i couldnt justify the money in them. Fords are a lot nicer inside and a lot more comfortable imo.

It'd probably set you back around 65-75k for a 2SS ($~35-45k for the car depending on extras, a few thousand to get it here and then at least a $20k conversion) and near the 75-??k mark for the ZL1 (when it gets released, no price has been announced but the base model is expected to be around $49,995 and comes with stock 575HP).

My order from IKEA arrived today (interstate from the Adelaide store) so I have an entire kitchen worth of cabinets etc sitting in boxes in my garage. Even the kitchen sink! And a couple of Billy bookcases (which I'm currently assembling like a boss). I'm a happy little vegemite! :D

Off of ebay. A quick search of "(insert cartoon name here) cels" managed to whip them up, the seller that I sued for some others was 'icollect online' I think. very good seller and prices were good too, best of all, not rip off shipping from America either!!:D

I hope so, I found some on ebay and got some Sonic the Hedgehog ones as well that are stock cells (assuming stock cells means mulptiple cels for different animations , er, like main cel and then a little bit changed etc.)

Getting a bit into the cels thing though, its just like owning a piece of the cartoon! I will have to find a good way top disply/store them.

How do keep them SGB?

Take a look at the production markings on the bottom of the Skeletor cel. If 'MUSTK' is written on it, then that means the cel is a stock cel (btw, She-Ra stock cels have 'PPSTK' instead, which is how I could tell the Shadow Weaver cels are stock cels).

If the cel has a number instead of 'STK' after 'MU', then that means the cel is from the numbered episode.

Stock cels are mostly generic pieces of animation that can be reused in other episodes wherever they may be suitable.

MOTU and POP had a plethora of stock cels to keep production costs down.

I put my cels in polypropylene sleeves and keep the sleeved cels in folders. I do the same for backgrounds, though I don't sleeve the copy backgrounds.

Oh, so for exampl in She-Ra, the animation of She Ra kicking the screen would be a stock cel? Same as Heman and his look left, right and run?

Cheers for the advice ion storage. Do you think they would need some special protection if I were to put them in a frame?

Yeah, those type of shots are usually comprised of stock cels. Even cels from the famous transformation sequences are stock cels.

Yes, the cels would need to be matted (not touching the glass), and I believe the glass needs to be UV-resistant to prevent light from fading the artwork. You'd best ask specialist framing stores though as I don't have any personal experience when it comes to framing cels.

rampagess might be able to offer some advice as well as he recently got a Unicron model cel framed.
