It should be a rule, that if you're posting an awesome custom, you must say which paints you used! :p

Dont you have to use masking tape on those bits? It's fiddly but it covers quite well the spots you want covered.
Now you just have to paint the silver bits in loopy and you got Henkei Streaker hehehe!:)

That's exactly why I bought 2 Sunstreakers but you pulled it off first.
I have Giallo Midas Pearl, is that the colour you used?
Sweet paint job :)

Looks very nice, even with his brake lights and everything left unpainted, he still looks much better than the normal Hasbro version.

In the first pic you can see some fine line tape its only about 4mm wide i used that and a razor blade to tape out the windows.
At Kurdt_the_Goat the paints i used were Automotive paints Dupont to be exact.
And yes Gamblor it is Giallo Midas Pearl. I had to use a a Lambo colour :D
here's a quick summary of what for whoever wants to know, after pulling him apart i lighly sanded the parts with P1200 wet sand paper. after which i used antistatic prepsol to clean it up.
Then once i set up all the pieces for painting i put plastic primer on followed by the underground colour which is just a solid yellow after that i then put on the basecoat colour which has the pearl part of it in it. And after that all of that i put on the clear and then left it to harden up in the spray booth at work. And put all back together when i got home.
Thanks for all the flattering comments.
I wasnt sure how it was gonna turn out but now that ive done one i wanna do more but might have to find my airbrush so i can do it at home.

+1 QFT! All this effort to make it look like Henkei. :D Yeah, you should paint the gun and air intakes mithral silver - closest thing to chrome unless you want to actually splash out for real chrome paint.

REALLY loving your work, loopy! :D
Damn, that's spectacular! I'd like to be able to do that, too, but living upstairs in a flat/apartment thing, using an airbrush would be tough :\
That said, what kind of clear coat do you use? the paint looks so nice and solid that I imagine it's kind of be chip resistant?
Looking forward to learnin' from ya :D

 Amazing Dude!!
This makes me want to try this painting thing someday.
When that time comes, I think I need to put these things in my grocery list.
1. fine line tape about 4mm wide
2. a razor blade to tape out the windows
3. Automotive paints Dupont Giallo Midas Pearl
4. mithril silver
5. P1200 wet sand paper
6. antistatic prepsol
7. plastic primer
8. Warhammer paints
9. airbrush
And just for my sake, I list down again your procedures into 10 Steps - just like a recipe book. :)
here's a quick summary of what for whoever wants to know
1. Pull apart
2. Lightly sand the parts with P1200 wet sand paper
3. Use antistatic prepsol to clean it up.
4. Set up all the pieces for the painting
5. Put plastic primer
6. Followed by the underground colour which is just a solid yellow
7. Put on the basecoat colour which has the pearl part of it in it.
8. After all of that, put on the clear
9. Then left it to harden up in the spray booth
10. Then put all back together.

I can most defientaly bring him to the meet... and yeah those are scratches on the windscreen there was a little bit of overspray on the windshield and i went to clean it off with a little bit of thinners BAD IDEA melted the plastic straight way so sanded it flat to either try and polish them out to make it look original or i will have to paint all of the window parts :(
REALLY That said, what kind of clear coat do you use? the paint looks so nice and solid that I imagine it's kind of be chip resistant?
The clear coat is a twopack clear which is the clear added with hardner and then sprayed on, it is also the same stuff that is used on real cars so hopefully it should be pretty chip resistant. I was also little paranoid about having paint build up around the joints and clips and not being able to transform him properly but there doesnt seem to be any problems there.
